Because the committee loves Bama. Miami, While they have looked good the last two game. All the others they struggled with lower level teams. I'm fully aware of that and have been an outspoken critic of Miami for the past month . . . but the fact remains, they're undefeated, and have the biggest wins (#3, #13), and should be a clear #1. Bama has no wins vs. current top 15 teams, and was in a death match vs. #16 this weekend, tied with 1:40 to go in the game. Am I to understand that obliterating Mercer University by 60 and passing some subjective eye test holds more water than obliterating #3 Notre Dame by 30?

LOL it doesn't matter if Bama has no real big wins. All that matters for them is that they have all wins. I was watching College gameday last week or the week before. The dude was arguing that when Bama played Florida St, that was a legit #1 vs #3 game. That Flordia st played very good that day. It doesn't matter what they did afterwards. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It was one of those moments when you yell back at the TV.
I guess the committee is thinking. If Bama played Miami tomorrow who do they think will win. And they chose Bama. As long as College football has committees they will be pissed off people. But that will also keep people talking about college football.

Miami is back at No. 2 in The Associated Press college football poll , the Hurricanes' best ranking since 2003.
The undefeated Hurricanes leaped five spots from No. 7 after routing Notre Dame on Saturday night. Alabama remained No. 1, where it has been since the preseason, getting 57 first-place votes. Miami received the other four first-place votes.
Oklahoma moved up to two spots to No. 3, jumping Clemson, which remained No. 4. Unbeaten Wisconsin moved up a spot to No. 5.
Three matchups of top-10 teams on Saturday produced lopsided victories for the home teams, including Miami over Notre Dame. The Irish dropped six spots to No. 9.
Auburn moved up to No. 6 after beating Georgia. The Bulldogs fell from second to seventh. TCU dropped out of the top 10 after losing at Oklahoma.

Miami got four first place votes in the AP, and I would have been one of them.
Miami beat #3 by 34 pts. Bama beat #16 by 7 pts. They're both undefeated, those are both of their respective best wins.
What am I missing?
Miami is #1.
OU is hot, I'd put them at #2. Baker is just one of those guys, man. Kind of ADHD during the stretch, but clearly engaged now. Kind of a "wake me up when the shooting starts" guy. And now that shit is ramping up, expect nothing but elite play from him which elevates the entire team LeBron style.
Clemson is starting to look like the pre-injury Clemson, so I'm gonna keep them at #3 and monitor closely.
Bama can stay in the playoffs at #4, and if they're as good as everyone thinks, we'll see it against Auburn and Georgia in the next 3-4 weeks.
Wiscy has to be #5 due to also being undefeated, but their schedule is absolutely powder puff compared to other teams up here in this discussion. They play one ranked team all season and it's a home game vs #20 Iowa, who is 6-4 with some fairly serious resume blemishes like a loss to Northwestern and a 7pt nail-biter W over Minnesota. Would not be even remotely opposed to seeing Wiscy leap-frogged by a one or even a two loss team who wins a conf title over a good, ranked team.
But, after that, #6 through #15 is just a jumble of super inconsistent teams that have looked elite at times and been completely exposed at times. Georgia and Ohio St kind of being the flag bearers for this sort of "do I suck or am I top 5" kind of schizophrenia. I guess Auburn is everyone's new crush, but they got beat by a horrible LSU team just four weeks ago. The only real test they've had this season was Clemson and they got completely, COMPLETELY shut down, held to a couple first half field goals in a 14-6 loss. Granted, they've looked better recently, but that's still a 2-loss team at #6.
The coaches poll, I noted, is much less fond of the Big 12, having all teams about 3 spots lower than the AP, on average.

Sooner is gonna un-friend me after this, but check this out:
If OU loses to WVU, and TCU loses to TxTech, and Iowa St, WVU, and OKST win out . . .
OKST will play WVU in the conf championship due to the tie breaker vs. Iowa St.
Auburn beats Bama, OKST plays Miami in NCAA finals, wins by 2-pt conversion in double OT.
Shut up, leave me alone.

Haha. It is indeed “what if... scenario” season. The picture is starting to clear up though. At least most of the ccg spots are decided.
I heard there was a website that offered a plug in tool that would compute predictions of cfbpo spots based upon what scenarios u chose to input. Havenot played with it.
Baph’s scenario is unlikely. But almost anything is possible in this crazy season. We may for example see the first time in the short history of our upstanding and pure of heart and thought cfbpc that a two loss team or teams get in.
I still fret and worry about having to potentially beat a solid tcu team twice ; the next time at a 50/50 site. This OU defense scizophrenia will never allow me to be confident in any game. I kinda think that’s part of the reason you saw so much vanilla stuff from Riley In second half of tcu. Wanted to minimize sample size for tcu to analyze film of if the two need in Arlington.
West v can be a huge problem if the good face of the two faces of will Grier shows up. The west v d however plays into mayfields hands. 4-2-5 with tons of blitzing? Baker is quite successful at defeating it with slipperiness and firing out to open guy (usually flowers or Anderson)
Not sure how the upstanding cfbpc will have teams ranked this week. I’d fire sire have it clemson OU bama and Miami, but the order is tough. I think baph s thoughts in Miami at 1 are certainly justified. Undefeated with more top wins than any of the other undefeated. And arguably has two more dominant wins than the other one loss teams have over top 5/ top 15 foes.

Such deliciously garbage rankings from the pure of heart and of thought CFPC.
Bama survives a scare, tied with 2 min to go, against #16, and that's good enough to stay #1 in the land. Meanwhile Miami CRUSHES #3 by 34 pts and is awarded a lowly #3 ranking, merely replacing the team they annihilated.
Clemson, who just had their first good showing in a month against the completely imploded FSU, is somehow the more impressive one loss team than OU who is absolutely on fire with back-to-back victories over #11 and #6, and still holds a road win over current #9 Ohio St. Clemson has a very nice resume with strong SOS of their own, no doubt, but the Syracuse loss is bad and the 7 pt win over NCState two weeks later was scary. This does not look like the Clemson that was running over Aub, Lou, and VTech six weeks ago, pre QB injury.
Wiscy at 5 remains annoying but difficult to argue around. It's the softest schedule on planet Earth. It's Boisie St. It's Colorado. It's Washington St. It's Baylor 2014. What do you do with the 10-0 guy who hasn't played anyone in the top 20 and doesn't eyeball test particularly well?
Penn St's win over Rutgers was apparently impressive enough to jump up 4 spots in the rankings; Washington St's win over Utah was impressive enough to jump up 5 spots; OKST's road win over the upset artist Iowa St was only impressive enough to jump 2 spots. Raise your hand if you're surprised. OKST's managed 50, 52, and 49 pts in their last three contests vs. #22, #5, and #21 respectively, making it now 8 out of 10 games with over 40 pts scored, and 9 out of 10 with at least 30 pts scored. They've only lost to a TCU team that peaked early and climbed into the top 6, and an OU team that's peaking late and is currently #3, as losses go . . . that's about as forgivable as they get. Meanwhile, Penn St just lost to 7-3 Mich St. And while it's true #12 TCU does have a head-to-head W over #13 OKST way back in week 4, the teams have since share a common opponent in Iowa St, whom beat TCU, and OU, who literally only played two quarters vs TCU and ran clock the entire second half in what at times looked like a glorified scrimmage where TCU literally posed no threat whatsoever, while the OKST game was an absolute bar brawl and a 3pt contest with just 2 min to go and OKST driving into FG range. I maintain that if Washington plays the final 20 min (goes out mid 3rd with ankle roll) OKST wins that game. Regardless, one was competitive, one was not.
USC's bad blowout loss to ND now looks much worse, as does their loss to Wash St (will they rematch in Pac 12 championship game?).
Also, just can't let this Wisconsin thing go, man. Tell me a team in the top 15 . . . eh, 14, where you'd put $500 down on Wisconsin winning on a neutral field tomorrow and not be sweating bullets. Sorry, Wiscy, beating Purdue by 8 at home isn't exactly getting my dick hard.
Ultimately I think they got the top 4 right, but the order is just wrong and unjustifiably so. Bama cannot be #1 when Miami is right there, undefeated, W's over 13 and 3. There's no logic to that unless you're going to do some pretty elaborate contortionist "FSU-was-legit #2 with Franscois" bullshit. Clemson is too high post QB injury, OU is too low after the hottest two weeks in the country.

Another week of crap rankings by the lawful good cfbpc. Week one had some logic, but as the season progresses, i am convinced that they literally make shit up and then justify whatever they come up with with a few talking points for doofus Kirby holcutt, pat him on the back, and say, "go get 'em!...... ok, boys! Let's get the fuck outa here. ".
Wish i were a fly on the wall this week.....
"Ok boys... lets crank this up. I haven't had to time watch jack shit this week... and i have a flight to catch. Let's make this quick. I have a meeting with alumni tomorrow am for the new stadium project fundraiser."
"Yeah... i missed the Stanford game and couldn't stay up last night either. Watched milf squirters part 6 last night on spankovision in the hotel. I'm raw. Should have saved some for next time."
"Ok.... bama is 1 because... they are bama. Any questions? No "
"Wisconsin still hasn't beaten anyone. Didn't see their game. Hadn't seen them all year. Who'd they beat this week? Aw fuck... i cant remember either.. lets stick them at 5.
Auburn played well. Beat Georgia. Let's stick them 6 and 7. Easy peasy. Wait?? Was Georgia really that good? Or did they just beat a bunch of s e c shitty teams? Fuck if i know. Who cares?..."
"Ok. We gotta figure out ou Clemson and Miami. Ou's defense gives up a lot of points and remember they lost a few years ago to Clemson. So lets put them behind Clemson and slit the two with miami. Kirby.... you come up with some game control metric stuff to make this sound good. And be sure and babble about clemsons's qb getting hurt in the Syracuse game. Is he back playing again? Dunno either.
"Ok. That's top 7. Nd got crushed and now they have two losses. My wife's a catholic and said she'd cut me off if i dropped them lower than 20 though. Let's keep em at 8.
"Jim Delaney is all over my ass this week with phone calls. Dude hacked by computer and caught me on bad sites. We had better start making a contingency plan to assure a b10 team makes the final 4. Wisconsin's gonna lose in Indianapolis. Let's crank up psu, tosu, and Msu. And if we put Michigan at 24 this week, we can jack them up next week.
'Where's Memphis going this week? Who?? Where were they last week? Who'd they play? Meh... i forgot, too. But they won, didn't they?? Well fuck. We can't move em down. Let's put em at 21.
"Yeah.... bowlsby's been on my ass too. Fuck him. He doesn't matter. Let's but tcu and osu together. Guess we gotta put tcu ahead of osu. Where should be put em? 20th? Meh... let's stick er at 12/13.
Ok. Fill in the gaps with s e c teams . They're the best, aretent they? Still a few gaps? Oh! Shit!! Fuck! Forgot about the pact 12. Anyone seen any of their games? Shit. Me neither. Too late. And my satellite system doens't get the PAC 12 network either. Usc's good, aren't they? Who else? Washington and wsu? Yeah. Let's fill in the gaps with them. Fuck. That leaves an open spot at 24. Snap!! I got it!!! Let's put Boise there. They beat ou a few years ago. That was cool, wasn't it? Statue of Liberty and that one dude proposing to his wife after the game... yeah..... Boise it is....... Love that place.... great great fly fishing!!...
Ok. We are outta here!!!

Oh you better believe Bama will be #1. They were all talking about it yesterday, that with Georgia losing Bama is right back to #1. I'm guessing #1 Bama #2 Clemson #3 Oklahoma #4 Miami #5 Ohio St #6 Wisconsin After I typed that, I thought that they may mix up #3, #4 and #5 I guess we'll see on Tuesday LOL not bad of a guess. Had 1 and 2 right, 3 and 4 were flipped. Way off on Ohio St.
Its all about who they like better. Oh well, it doesn't matter. The last week could be very interesting. But I don't think even if Bama loses to Auburn that they would be out of the top 4.

Annual baby seal clubbing Saturday. Hope the athletic budgets of citadel and mercer are firmly in the black after this weekend. Shit... at least they could have the decency to Club baby seals within confermce. Let’s hope OU can keep focus and not have a monumental Texas like screw up vs KU.
Only really good game potentially is Wiscy vs kahaki pants.
Don’t think Miami will choke vs wahoos. Nd middies has potential for an upset. But doubtful. Crosstown rivalry in LA features some potentially good qb play. Will try to scan that one some just to watch Rosen. Hadn’t seen Him much.
Wish we could pas a rule Saying all conferences should have 9 conference games. Or at least one that says if you are gonna play an fcs opponent, you cannot do so after October 1. That might take care of this annual tradition of chickenshit Saturday in November.

Notre Dame looked like shit. Weren't they just #3 like 5 min ago? Close win over Navy.
Penn St looked like shit. Let Nebraska hang 44 pts on em and almost lost.
OKST just shit the bed hard. Maybe the biggest emotional hangover I've ever seen. You could literally see them snap out of it with about 12 min to go. They're down 42-13 in the 3rd after one of the flattest, most low T, most dazed and confused outings I've seen in . . . 2-3 years now . . . and then you turn around and it's 45-40 with OKST driving down the field in the final 2 min primed for a wildly improbable win (visions of Bedlam dance in your head) . . . just to drop 3 wide open first downs and watch the clock expire. To have this QB as a senior, this receiving corps, this freak RB, and now be crossing your fingers hoping the Alamo Bowl takes you back for the 3rd time in 5 years . . . massively disappointing. It's time for some coordinators to go. But beyond that, the KState game was almost indescribably bad for the first 3 quarters. It may be the worst 3 quarters of Rudolph's career. So much so I'm actually suspicious if something isn't wrong, either in terms of the locker room situation after the Bedlam loss or possibly a lingering injury. Could have EASILY thrown 5 INTs. Threw 2, and 2 more were just dropped by KState's middle linebacker, and another one dropped in the end zone by KState corner. Overthrew open guys all day. No intensity. No urgency. Absurdly bad play calling. Awful defense. This looks like a team that mentally gave up when the conf title/playoff hype evaporated.
Miss St comes from behind to beat an awful Arkansas team. Keep in mind that's Bama's best win this season.
Agree it's a totally wasted week. Kind of amusing to watch Mayfield completely lose his shit during a 30 pt blowout of a 1-9 Kansas team, then somberly explain in the presser how they were mean at the coin toss. That "he started it" shit doesn't work when you're maybe the chippiest player in college football. Also, you've probably got the Heisman and a playoff spot in the bag, and you're coasting to an easy win over the worst team in the league . . . keep it together, dude. But, live by the sword, die by it. This is the guy who was beaning footballs off of TCU helmets as they ran out last week, who trash talks every school and opposing QB in the media in the run-up to games. Dude, you're an emotionally driven player -- just own it. You can't be a notorious taunter with borderline out-of-control intensity AND be a victim. Comes off phony. Just be you. You get fired up, you make it personal, you talk shit, it elevates your play, you feed on that anger and adrenaline, you plant flags, it makes you probably the best QB in college football . . . just say that. Don't do this phony Heisman PR act. If Winston can rape and shoplift I'm more than willing to grant Baker some jackassery.
Moving forward, some much better games on the horizon:
Bama's first real game of the season vs Auburn. OU gets a decent test vs WVU. Notre Dame vs Stanford would be a pretty comical loss for the Irish. Ohio St vs Michigan is a big rivalry game. Washington vs Washington St looks much more competitive now than it did several weeks ago.

Don't forget Miami had a bit of a scare for 3 quarters.
I really do hope Auburn can somehow get the win next week. But even if they do, I think Bama would stay in the top 4.
Only thing that really pissed me off today. On Monday when I was looking at who I might bet on. SMU vs Memphis was my pick for over, my top pick of the week. I texted my betting buddies that day and told them to take the over no matter what it was. Last night I made my bets. Took over 66 points. Yes it was a easy win, but I'm mad I didn't put way way more money on it LOL (I bet $300 on the over)
I missed the Mayfield thing, I heard he apologized for something but didn't hear the whole story. Thanks for filling me in a bit.

Pretty lackluster weeekend of games. Like i mentioned above, i really hope that we can change the scheduling practices of the acc and sec this weekend. Play the FCs games if you must, but play them prior to October.
Didn't see the ok state game; will review it this week. This program lost a golden opportunity this year with the amount of offensive talent amassed. They showed up big in last year's bowl game; let's hope they can do the same this year.
Miami indeed struggled vs uva. Very interested to see the acc championship game.
Ou sleep walked for quite some time vs KU. First half was far closer than the score led on. Sad that the buzz about the game isn't the good play of the ou defense but the childish antics. I've been critical of him before; and he has to understand that all cameras are on him; especially in the moments after a td. Sure... KU refused to shake hands. Sure.... the crowd was jawing at him. Sure... he got cheap shotted and got abused in piles a few times. But come on... you have to hold yourself to a higher standard. Talk shit in piles. Point to the scoreboard. Don't crotch grab and yell 'fuck you, motherfucker" as a individual taunt with the nation watching after a key td. Again... it's not the first time those words have been uttered on a field. Not the first time a mocking crotch has been grabbed in a taunt. But a guy who is the hiesman front runner has to understand his situation and how his actions impact that campaign and his team.
Nice to see kyler Murray play pretty well in mop up. They had him open up more with his arm. First time in conference mop up that we saw this side of him.
Really good weekend next weekend
Also the coaching dominoes are starting to fall. Ucla fired mora. And by all reports is very close to signing chip Kelly. I think he is a far better fit there than he would have been at Florida. Jimbo also being pursued. Teams are foolish for pursuing him. He is not leaving fsu. Any pursuit of him will be used by him only to leverage fsu. Of the four current active coaches who are title holders, i am the least impressed with Jimbo. His teams regularly mail it in and totally quit at least 1-2 times per year. This year; far more quits.

It looked like Oklahoma State ate too much Soy last week. It looked like an implosion of team chemistry and motivation. KState scored at will all day long. Season high (in conference) 45 pts. Punt returns for TDs, INTs for TDs, scoring drives for TDs, every way you can score, they scored, and then they did it again. Shocking defensive play. This wasn't Mayfield playing out of his mind . . . this was a back-up from KState facing no resistance in a hostile environment. Unacceptable. If OKST's DC keeps his job it'll be the first real beef with Gundy I've had, because he has shown a reluctance to fire under-performing coordinators, and this would be an egregious example of that. Just surreal feeling to it. Then the 4th quarter the D wakes up, offense kicks in, they outscore KState 20-3 and were driving for a win as time ran out. Which, honestly, makes it far worse because it shows you that "it" was there all day, they just didn't want it. Man, that's a tough one to swallow.

OKST was up on Pitt @ Pitt 49-0 at the half, pulled starters, went on to win 56-12. It's probably the best game they played all year and it really got the playoff hype going. Absolutely surgical, magnificent football.
What a disappointing season to squander that much talent.
More pertinent question may be how good is/was #2 Miami? I was never sold on them, kind of stumbled and bumbled around, barely winning a series of nail-biters at home vs. Nobodies, then the blowout over clearly over-rated ND, and now what, a fairly sound, deliberate, 1st quarter through 4th quarter beat down vs. Pitt, who is NOT as bad as their record indicates, but still . . .
And how about Pitt?
If there's ever been a 5-7 team that didn't need to hang it's head, it may be this one. Brutal schedule in 2017. Played Miami, Penn St, OKST, VTech, NCState, and looked very disciplined, assignment-sound, and polished in a decisive win over undefeated #2 Miami.
SEC SOS continues to take hits as Bama's best win, Miss St, takes an ugly L tonight vs. 6-6 Ole Miss. Will def have a close eye on that Auburn game tomorrow. Imagine #1 and #2 both taking Ls within a 24 hr period on the final week of the season.

"Will def have a close eye on that Auburn game tomorrow. Imagine #1 and #2 both taking Ls within a 24 hr period on the final week of the season."
That hunch, though.
Bama finally plays a top 15 team and had a rough, rough game, riddled with dumb penalties, an inability to drive/score, and gives up close to 30 pts (missed 2-pt conversion kept Auburn at 26). Baylor transfer at QB threw consistently and managed long drives all day. Auburn D really bothered the Bama QB and just terrorized their storied O line to the point they started snapping early, moving early, and generally fucking up left and right. They failed to even score in the 4th quarter in a game they're trailing. No punch. No rally. This is what happens when you don't play anyone all year -- you're not accustomed to it and the pressure gets you off your game.
I think a really interesting question is -- forget the rankings, committee, whatever, just use your eyeballs -- how good is Bama?
OU had an easy win over a banged-up WVU, but they're just rolling with momentum and confidence right now. Still don't like that WVU was able to score that much and gash that often with a back-up QB, or any QB, but OU's offense has gotten absolutely ridiculous. 31 pts in the 2nd quarter. Good lord. Clemson appears to have fully returned to form at this point. Up 34-0 at start of 4th quarter on a decent #24 South Carolina team in a road game.
I'd have a hard time not moving OU to #1 at this point. Clemson #2. Wisconsin #3. Auburn #4 and if the SEC championship is won, they leapfrog even an undefeated Wiscy, but regardless, that's your top 4.
Hard LOL @ the Notre Dame implosion. They were literally #3 like 5 min ago. Now they're 9-3 and have been routed by two of their last three opponents, giving up an avg of 39 pts per game in those losses.

Aren't they waiting until after next week for the final final 4?
I was watching some sportscenter after the games last night. Most wasn't even having Wisconsin in the top 4 now. Some still had Bama in the top 4. Then there were making a big thing about how in the four years they haven't had a two loss team in the playoffs and Bama has been in all four years. I don't see how Bama gets in this year. They won't win the SEC, If Auburn wins next week they should be a shoe in with winning the SEC and beating Bama and Georgia (twice). If Georgia wins, they win the SEC and are tied with Bama for record and they both have a loss to the same team (Auburn) but Georgia would have a win over Auburn too. Plus I think Georgia SOS was better then Bama's. So how are they going to get Bama in? You know they want them in.
Next week Oklahoma vs TCU .. Oklahoma wins and they are in. Georgia vs Auburn .. The winner is in?? Miami vs Clemson .. If Clemson wins they are in. Ohio St vs Wisconsin .. Winner is in.
But if next week doesn't matter, Yes I agree with your top 4. But I feel most confident with Oklahoma and Clemson getting in. I think both win next week. They other two teams are a toss up. IMO

IMO I listed my current top 4 not my final top 4, and next week absolutely matters, a lot. I agree with your overall assessment. It's hilarious to watch the contortionist trying to explain why Alabama should still be in. New AP rankings are out, Alabama's best win is #24 Miss St. They have played only one other ranked team, which spanked them. But yes, by all means, let's keep them in the playoff when they don't even contend for their own conference. Hey, I've got a fucking question: why do we need a committee and what the fuck do they actually do that's so magical and secretive that we couldn't just easily, transparently do ourselves with some basic criteria like SOS, W/L, conf titles, etc.

Great question, I have no idea. Nothing needs to be in secret, everything should be transparent. But I guess they can't make up a set standard of rules on how to get in, because those rules won't apply to all.
I'll admit, I was rooting for Auburn for the wrong reason. I was rooting for them to win just to shakeup the top 4.
What do you think the chances are IF, If Wisconsin wins a very close game to Ohio St. Do you think the committee will put Bama in the 4th spot and leave Wisconsin out? Maybe I'm being a conspiracy theorist, but I just have that feeling that they are trying to find a way to make that work.

I don't think that's a bad reason . . . the 4 team, secret room, committee bullshit needs to die and maybe this is what it takes to piss enough people off and put some pressure on it. There is ZERO reason to meet behind closed doors and apply secret bartering to the top 4 selection. There's also zero reason to have these conf championships if winning one doesn't put you in over a team that didn't even compete for one if SOS and records are comparable.
Power 5 Conf winners + top 3 at-large teams with best W/L and SOS.
How fucking hard was that?

I absolutely agree with you. I love that idea.
Then I think why they wouldn't do that. What would be a reason why College Football wouldn't want to have this set up. The only thing I can see is they would lose revenue. Bowl games, They have what like 67 bowl games (LOL I don't know the real number but it seems like a whole lot). To me bowl games are nothing more then a commercial money grab. If they did the power 5 winners and top three at large teams, what would be the reason to have all of these bowl games? Why is tampax and all these other big corps going to throw many at the NCAA football?
Could that be a real reason why the wouldn't want your setup? I know you guys are much more knowledgeable in college football then I am. So its a real question. College football is a business, and most business decisions comes down to the money. Would they lose money by setting up a structure as you described? Or do you think they would gain money?
just rambling now. What if they did have your setup and someone like UCF won the championship? That wouldn't be good for the big schools. Sure the odds would be against them but it could happen. Hell, Douglas beat Tyson LOL

Man I have no idea. An 8 team playoff, with the opening round being a home game for the higher seed, I think it would be the biggest month in sports history. It also clears up that awkward month of down time between the end of the season (now) the the new years bowls. Can you imagine the commercial impact of having the first round of a NCAA football playoff game in your town?
#1 Oklahoma vs #8 Stanford #2 Clemson vs #7 USC #3 Auburn vs #6 Ohio St #4 Wisconsin vs #5 Alabama
Round 1 at the higher seed's field, round 2 at major bowl sites, finals at major NFL stadium on Jan 1st.

Auburn vs Georgia = winner gets in Clemson vs Miami = winner gets in Oklahoma beats TCU =Oklahoma gets in. If TCU wins then Bama will get in. Ohio State beats Wisconsin = BAMA GETS IN? If Wisconsin wins they are in.
Bama getting in over a 2 loss Ohio State team seems likely to me, but it would be controversial and we need everyone talking about a controversy.
As much as I openly dislike Bama's unfair preseason rankings and refusal to play home/how with anyone out of conference, I don't know about putting this Ohio State team in a playoff. 2 losses and they were clearly beat by better teams; once at HOME by Oklahoma and once on the road where Iowa beat the living shit out of them.
Obviously fully agree with the power 5 conference winners + 3 at large. And probably 90% of fans would agree. It would be the greatest playoff in sports surpassing the NFL.
Going to be another great weekend of football.
Having just watched Auburn smoke Georgia and Bama, I really don't see how Georgia makes game 2 competitive. Auburn took away their run game and Georgia couldn't do anything, and it is going to happen again.
