Oklahoma State impressed clowning Tulsa. That offense is going to score on anyone and they have a favorable schedule getting Kansas State and OU at home. Hard to tell about that defense but we have a Big 12 board and you guys can give some thoughts on the Big 12 this year.
Indiana hung tough early with Ohio State but made too many mistakes. Ohio State gets Oklahoma at home next week.
Some fun games Saturday:
Bama vs Florida State on a neutral field Texas A&M at UCLA Michigan vs Florida on a neutral field
I am interested in Western Michigan at USC. SC is a huge favorite and supposedly has a deep and talented team, but Western Michigan will blitz this QB and a fairly inexperienced Trojan offense. I think this one will be closer than the experts think (Western Michigan is a 26 point dog).
I am reading Florida has 10 player suspending but Michigan is replacing 17 starters. 17! That's crazy but im sure they are deep.
Stoked college football is back. Waning interest in the NFL with these jackasses kneeling and pretending like they give a fuck about social causes.

Ohio St didn't look good at all in the 1st half. 2nd half they looked great. Oklahoma st looked good all game.
Betting wise. I ended up losing $60. I'll win it back tonight.

Kind of a shaky start for Ohio St, Wisconsin, and Washington. I seriously thought all three were in trouble well past the standard "opening jitters" portion of the game.
Stanford looked vicious.
Some MASSIVE games tomorrow. Great opening weekend.
OKST appears, this early, to be as good as advertised. What was critical to me was to see the execution. Very few penalties. Very few turnovers. None of those early season timing and focus errors we typically see (see above teams). Picked up right where they left off with that blowout bowl win over Colorado and came out and performed like a bunch of seniors. Obviously there's some big strike capability, but was happy to see some misdirection and short timing routes, as well as one slow, methodical drive to eat time in the 2nd half. Lots of stuff in the toolbox here. Also, after so much hype about the receiving corps, the balance was great to see. 300 yds on the ground, 300 yds in the air, 59 pts, and only allowed 14 offensive points from a decent Tulsa team that won 10 games last year. Pulling starters early in the 4th quarter after a nearly flawless game is precisely what you want to see here. Serviceable lines, depth and experience at the skill positions, and favorable schedule, and poise under center. If it's ever gonna happen, it's now.

Wisconsin had a great 2nd half, I think they scored 42 in the 2nd half. Ohio St didn't have a running game in the 1st half. 2nd half they did much better. I didn't pay much attention to the Washington game.

All three teams appeared to have some significant rust, confusion, and general sloppiness and kind of wore down a B-list opponent over 3 to 4 quarters and ran it up in the final 15-20 min. Was not impressed.
Even less impressed with Tom Herman's debut at Texas. Jesus. What a complete fucking mess of a program. Cut Strong loose too soon.

USC struggled mightily right up until the final 7-8 min of the game. That was almost a massive, embarrassing upset against Western Michigan. Baylor and Texas appear to be in some sort of irreversible implosion mutual suicide pact and are trying to take the whole conference with them. Thank god for the Oklahoma teams. Louisville and Georgia were both pretty ho-hum too. Some real question marks coming out of opening weekend. Hard to really gauge the level of competition for most of these squads, but I'm fairly sure Liberty sucks ass.
Hot List - Tearing Out of the Gate: Penn St Stanford OKST OU LSU Clemson Michigan
Purgatory - Decent Opener or Not Enough Data to Move the Needle: Alabama Florida St Georgia Auburn Miami Ohio St Washington Wisconsin
Cold List - Bad Start, Questions Raised: USC Texas Baylor Florida UNLV Louisville FSU - injury related

florida was really bad. I know they had two guys out. But still, they looked really bad.
Georgia. Didn't they have their QB get taken out very early in the game?

UNLV might have just ousted Baylor for the most embarrassing season opener in recent memory. Who the fuck is Howard University? Jesus.

Opening Impressions:We've seen 'em live. Now what?1. Bama - Stay put out of sheer habit, but that offense needs to get better. D is scary. Pass rush is gnarly AF. Won't be the last QB injury. 2. Ohio - Would drop 3-4 spots based on a bad first half. They'll have to play better next week to avoid an L. 3. FSU - Don't over-react. Undo a few key mistakes and they're down to the wire w Bama. But, QB injury impact? 4. USC - Drop a few spots. Gave up 31 pts in a way-too-close game vs. Western Michigan. Looks over-hyped. 5. Clemson - New QB looks spicy. Maybe Clem doesn't fall off as I'd predicted. Could even bump up a spot. 6. Penn St - Raped a nobody, but looked sharp as hell doing it. Yikes. Stay put but primed to jump up. 7. OU - Penn S 2.0. Will learn a lot more next week, but opener was strong. Baker is unreal. 8. Wash - Drop a spot or two. Ended up with decent win v. Rutgers, but showed clear flaws in first three quarters. 9. Wiscy - Not as dramatic as above, but still not an overwhelming performance overall, especially early. A bit "meh". 10. OKST - Penn St 3.0, but again, will learn more in two weeks @ Pitt. Liked the balance and firepower. 11. Mich - Are they this good or is Fla this bad? A bit of both? Leave them put for now. 12. Auburn - Hard to say. Almost a Penn St. 4.0 situation. Trash opponent and a blowout win. 13. LSU - Nice win vs. BYU. Shutout. Could be righting the ship here. 14. Stanford - Vicious win. Could bump up. Showed some serious chops. 15. Georgia - Talented but flawed team. Hard to rank. Classic Georgia situation. 16. Louisville - Same as above, but possibly worse and less predictable. Definitely not what we had last year. 17. Florida - Decent start, but just frustrated and inept as the game wore on. Seemed limited on offense for sure. 18. Miami - Comparable to Georgia. Talent with some flaws. Too early to rank confidently. Good speed. 19. South Florida - Played someone I've never heard of in a surprisingly competitive game. Not sure about this ranking. 20. Kansas St - Standard KState team. Solid, smart, simple, efficient. Will be decent. 21. V Tech - 22. WVU - 23. Texas - Absolute mess of a program. Should have kept Strong. Could see a spectacular implosion here as season goes on. 24. Wash St. - Penn St style blowout of a nobody. Shrug. 25. Tenn - And Jesus H. Christ did unranked TCU look good. Sure, who the fuck is Jackson St., who the fuck are any of these teams, but I'm fairly confident even at this early stage in saying some of these ranking are flat-out wrong and we have some clear-cut cases of over-hype and over-looked going on. Cannot wait for week 2.

Florida is just that bad. Wisconsin had a bad 1st quarter. After that they scored 52 unanswered. USC will probably only drop a couple ranking spots. I didn't watch that game, but by looking at the score and who they were playing. They should drop out of the top 10. Work their way back in.
Texas shouldn't have been ranked. But I guess that had to have atleast 1 team from Texas in there LOL If Texas A&M wins tonight. They will take their place.
I haven't looked at next weeks games yet. I hope to get more answers after next week.

Might be a type-o . . . can't remember. Or maybe posted before game was over.
Gonna be interesting to see what they do with FSU after that injury. Expect Florida to drop several spots. And . . . is it possible that we'll see a top 25 without a single Texas team? Holy shit. The undisputed mecca of high school football talent can't produce a top 25 college team? Talk me through that one. Wow.
A&M Tech TCU Texas Baylor
All just death spiraling, with TCU being the obvious exception and actually looking pretty salty in their opener.

If A&M didn't have that collapse, they probably would have been put in the top 25. I'm guessing they will throw TCU in there.
