Based on a few previous interviews with cast members, I'm thinking his tweet about the location was a purposeful misdirect. Haven't read anything about that. But yeah, maybe. Pretty sneaky of them if true. Turns out they film fake scenes to throw off people trying to sneak on and leak info, purpose lying in random comments, etc..

collider.com/george-rr-martin-the-winds-of-winter-2018-release/#images^ ^ ^ So is this the final straw, where GRRM ass swabs, who say he can do no wrong and should take all the time he needs, finally throw their hands up with with this fucking guy? It's only April, and he's already wiping out any possibility that the next book in the series could be done and published before years end. But to make things worse, he reveals that there is some other book coming out that he's been working on INSTEAD of the fucking one everyone's been dying for. It's not really a novel, just like a historical text about the Targaryens, that's 1,000 pages long. So that means this guy wrote 1000 pages about some other shit, for the last....who knows how long <iframe width="11" height="5.759999999999991" style="position: absolute; width: 11px; height: 5.759999999999991px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 5px; top: 5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_49483967" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="11" height="5.759999999999991" style="position: absolute; width: 11px; height: 5.76px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 493px; top: 5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_8015383" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="11" height="5.759999999999991" style="position: absolute; width: 11px; height: 5.76px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 5px; top: 237px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_18916230" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="11" height="5.759999999999991" style="position: absolute; width: 11px; height: 5.76px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 493px; top: 237px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_19866015" scrolling="no"></iframe> And to join these two announcements together. My god, what a kick in the balls. I get that people love the guy. I used to too. But you have to know that he does not love you. In fact he seems to love fucking with you, more than anything.....aside from food

I'm looking forward to Blood and Fire. At least its something. With the series ending next year, and HBO working on the prequels, I think he was pressured into getting that book out first, to help build a buzz around the prequels. But, I know nothing.

I never understood why anyone would come close to worshipping GRRM. The dude is fucked up in the head. His fucked up head made a great story, but the story is only great because of its scale and general tendency to be really, really fucked up. He might think anyone who enjoys his fucked up story is also pretty fucked up, so he doesn't care much about the desires of those people because he believes them to be fucked up.
The reality I suspect comes to be true is that GRRM is going to stroke out and forget the whole story, and never be able to end it, and spend the rest of his days with a fucked up stroked out grin on his face as he thinks about brothers and sisters...fucking.

Its annoying to be waiting for the final season of GOT. Feels like too much to wait 2 years to watch another season. The show is epic but come on.

Looks like Fire and Blood has a release date of 11/20 Saw that. Barely moved the needle really. I mean I'll read it I'm sure. I actually have the last short story from 6 months - a year ago that I haven't read yet. Due to my low expectations for seeing TWoW anytime soon, I wasn't that disappointed, but it was still a let down to see-a-BUILD-UP!... but just have it be Fire & Blood.

Not looking good for the "spin-offs" HBO wants. They claim they are doing four but turns out the people they put in charge never even seen GoT.

They wanted four to review but only plan on doing one. Yeah that was the original idea. Then they wound up reviewing like 10 instead, one of which GRRM really liked the idea of but they shot it down. They are now developing 4, expecting at least two to move to production, but the underlying problem of the people involved never seeing GoT in the first place seems issusome to me.

Started watching season 1 episode 1 tonight. Up to ep 3 now.
Of course I've seen them all, but the plan is to watch most of them before the final season begins. Pretty cool because I've NEVER watched an episode twice. Not even the big ones like the red wedding or battle of the bastards. Tonight was the first time I've re-watched a GOT episode in its entirety.
I'll probably fast forward a bunch of stuff; the things I remember. But the plan is to watch most of it. Not going to binge either. Just an episode here and there for the next months. Heck, probably a binge session one of these lazy Sundays/hangover days.
Already paying dividends. Forgot about the origins of the 5 wolfs which they explained in the first episode. Looking forward to other things I've forgot about.
Missing PatSox. Hopefully he comes back with the reviews for the last season.
Anyone has Patsox on Facebook?

Man I'm fucking geeked and ready for this shit. I usually wait until the season is over then binge the whole thing all at once. But yes impossible to avoid fucking spoilers, the red wedding- spoiled, the battle of the bastards- spoiled, the aunt fucker- spoiled, the dragon going to the white walkers- spoiled, danerious getting all uppity and deciding not to show her cooz anymore- spoiled.
Well not this fucking time. I will be watching them as they air.

Someone should holler at PatSox. I know he is done with this place. But it will be cool for him to return one last time for his reviews on the final season.
The he can fuck off into the sunset. For ever.

To go along with people here only wanting to talk politics, from a casual observer's perspective, the first two episodes have been dull. Not a lot to talk about unless you're a junkie. I know it's not the hip take on the GoT story and culture, but the episodes were boring as fuck in general. I understand TV shows have set up episodes, but we could have comfortably fit all the bullshit that has gone on in Winterfell into one episode.

It was good to reunite the relationships and build a team between the characters. However I will say that Im glad the the rest of the episodes are 90 minutes so we can actually see shit happen and advance the story.

I did like the first two episodes but you guys are right it could have been one slightly longer episode. Bran has gone full Dr. Manhattan and apparently Theon has been quickly forgiven.

I wonder how much of the old rivalries will come back if/when the common enemy is defeated. I think Theon is a goner next episode though protecting Bran.

I really think the only rivalries they will revisit will be the ones between the factions in the north and the south..they wont have time foe all of them. Theon is def gone, as is Jorah for sure. I wonder how these last 6 episodes will change how grr martin decides to finish (i know he probably won't) his story. Supposedly he told weis and bennioff his plan for the ending..i wonder if he will change it now?

I guess ill have to be the first to say it..the battle of winterfell episode was hot garbage. Maybe the most disappointed ive ever been in the show The decision to make 'winter' standard definition and dark was horrible. Dany used her dragon for like 4 attacks on the dead and other than that basically rode it out up above the clouds. The scene with Arya was always going to be the case though, even if it was anticlimactic. They've built her up to be the slayer from the first episode.

I thought last episode was pretty nuts. There are some issues but all in all I thought it was super chaotic (in a good way) and gave some characters fantastic send offs... even if the battle should have killed off more characters.
Theon's death was the perfect ending to his character. Charging into death knowing he had finally made peace and redeemed himself in the eyes of those he betrayed.
The deaths of the last two Mormonts were both very well done as well.
Arya killing the Night King did surprise me but I honestly didn't have a problem with it. Her meeting with Melisandre earlier in the episode as well as the call back to the first time they met put it all in perspective. She was built up to do this. I thought it was fucking awesome to be honest. Maybe it was just the shock factor, this episode had me half convince that the Night King was going to win towards the end. Not completely convinced, but shit it wouldn't have surprised me.
Won't go too into detail but fuck me this episode had the best soundtrack in the entire history of the show.
Episode wasn't perfect not by any means, but damn it was a pretty sweet rollercoaster ride from beginning to end.
Might need to rewatch it before the next episode.

Emilia Clarke gave an interview saying that episode 3 is shit compared to episode 5. So expect a huge battle to come. I hated the book nerds. Especially their complaints about the show vs the books. But shit, I've noticed the difference between the earlier episodes that were more true to the books vs the ones now written by the TV guys. Hate to use a cliché, but it feels like the show has gone Hollywood. They are trying to give people closure by reuniting the characters and tying up lose ends....which is normally a good thing, but it feels forced....rushed even. Even the deaths; they gave us Jorah (Which died in the friendzone....dam) and Theon....two fan favorites, but not as shocking as someone, lets say, from the red wedding. If George would had been writing, i bet we would had gotten something more shocking. Like a Jamie or even Daenerys dying. I still love the show and I've enjoyed the episodes so far. This is more like a constructive criticism. Random thoughts about the episodes so far: - I expected more from Bran (See picture attached). I guess his value is being a living encyclopedia. But i was hoping he had some super powers that he could had put to use. Like warging into a dragon or something. - Gotta mention Jorah again. He died in the friendzone without never even getting a handjob. His death scene was pretty cool though. He stayed fighting, protecting her until the very end. As soon as he saw the wights collapse, he went down. - The Arya sex scene was weird. I guess because we first met her as a 10 year old. But she is like 18 in the show and 22 in real life, so all good. I remember teasing Cup and LA about being pedos and wanting to fuck her. Wish they were still here to tease them about jerking off 10 times during that scene. - Speaking of sex. How crazy is it that this show completely desensitized us about fucking your sister or your aunt. - Brienne being knighted was corny as fuck. She miraculously survived one too many times during the last battle. Perfect example of what I said earlier about the show going Hollywood and how different it would had been if RR Martin wrote that part. - Lots of complaints about how dark the battle of winterfell was. That people couldn't see shit. But I get why they did it. Trying to make it realistic since it was a night battle. - Man...did I get pumped about the Dothraki and their fire swords. Thought they were going to fuck shit up. This was actually a George RR type of scene....pump you up and then take the rug right from under you. Reminds me of how excited I was about Drogo going to Westeros "In the wood horses to rape their women and take their children as slaves". Patsox didn't have the heart to tell me he was going to die. But he did feel bad for my excitement. - I guess Tormund is never going to fuck Brienne now after his giant tittie milk story and his drink spilling over his nasty ginger beard. - Nice closure about Beric dondarrion dying. He was brought back all those times for the purpose of saving Arya, the one that would eventually kill the night king. Arya is a motherfucking G. I chuckled when Jon asked her if she ever used her sword....lol...yeah....bitch has a huge body count by now. It was cool to see her scared when the wights were chasing her. Made her human again. I first thought that scene was corny....turned it into a zombie scene being chased by a couple of wights which are easy to kill. But then they showed how many were there and shit got real. - I seriously thought Tyrion was going to try to fuck Sansa since they were facing death. The internet was right....who's bright idea was it to hide in a fucking cemetery when dealing with creatures that come back from death. - The night king turned out to be a little bitch raising the dead instead of fighting Jon. But at least it was an oh shit moment for me ...Zombie Dothrakis... - The Melisandre/Azor Ahai theory is finaly dead. That one was one of the more popular fan theories. - Did Ghost died? Finally, if you guys are missing Patsox's reviews, this guy does a pretty good job at it: youtu.be/oDIydQiY3rgAnd for a funny version of it, OzzyMan is a must: youtu.be/xi-dv37e8AYCheck out the reviews for past episodes from Ozzyman.
