I'm someone who didn't like either of the Thor movies so far, but THAT looks like it could be pretty great
Definitely has a guardians feel to it, without completely biting it's style. Cate Blanchette looks awesome in this. I mean, for my money, she's the best actress on the planet, so she should be great, as long as the writing is. I've heard nothing buy good things about the guy directing it. The part where he sees Hulk and yells "YES!!!!" is fucking hilarious. And some of the imagery, when Blanchette's character is wearing that antlered helm, laying waste to people.....holy shit
Hulk Universe: Loki underworld magic separates Bannon from the Hulk and then releases the Hulk on Valhalla, only to realize he's totally out of control and they come to regret their little experiment. You see some of these characters (the sorceress) in the trailer. The alien planet they end up on has a cruel dictator, Jeff Goldblum, who uses mind control to enslave people and cause champions to fight as gladiators in his arena. You see this in the trailer as well.
Banner, goddamnit. Bruce Banner.
And I don't care if some yag-fags started calling him "David" later. They were just
some Jewish guys dying with envy of the Hulk's physique.
Heavy duty training, indeed.
Valhalla? I believe you mean Asgard.
Kids nowadays. Confusing Norse mythology with Greek/Roman.

Edgar Wright's (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim etc) next movie.......
So turns out Wright thought he wasn't going to get to make this movie so a few years ago he made a music video based on the beginning of his original script
Well I had known that this was a possible storyline. It was the trailer and the first movie poster released.
But in the trailer, Luke is telling Rey to close her eyes and breath, then asks her what she sees. She says, "Light....Darkness.....balance" Hence the balance in between the light and dark side of the force.
This was the movie poster which for me confirmed it. I saw the poster first, before the trailer.
Light on one side: Luke, dark on the other: Kylo, balance in the middle: Rey. Poster matches the quote. We talking about grey jedi here? Luke training Rey to become a grey jedi, use both sides, destroy the conflict once and for all?
During the trailer, light shows the rebellion HQ, dark shows Kylo's crushed mask, balance shows a small collection of ancient books in a bizarre tree trunk library, the last of the archives, or some forbidden knowledge on using both sides of the force, and inside a logo very much like that in the poster, which can definitely be seen as symbolic of using the whole force, not one side of it. Luke then says "it's so much bigger".
I'm liking your theory.
Trailer looks highly tantalizing. Appears Luke trains Rey. Kylo is back. Looks like a flashback to the Knights of Ren destroying the temples and killing off the jedi as Luke falls to his knees alongside R2.
It's time for the jedi to end.
Why? Do the sith plan on ending?
Hoping to clear up the vagueness around Snoke as well.
"This is an alternate marvel universe where deadpool didn't get injected by superhuman serum and nick fury didn't lose his eye" "It literally looks like they just took Ryan Renolds and Sam L. Jackson and said, "Play yourselves, but you're a hitman and you're his bodyguard.""
I know I'm stepping in it here, but just saw some released stills of Alien: Covenant that are fucking SICK balls.
Possibly spoilers so wtf ever ---
I mean it's in a magazine so not exactly top secret shit, but here goes:
A "protomorph" crouching over a body. Then a shot of the Engineer home world all bustling and beautiful. Then a shot of the juggernaut (Engineer ship taken by David and Shaw) entering the town square, bay doors open, and David drops about 1,000 canisters of goo on EVERYBODY, then a shot of basically everyone dead, mass planetary extinction. Apparently David does to them what they were intending to do to us. Hard reboot. This is how the film STARTS.

If true, that could be one of the most badass movie openings of all time!
Saw a tremendous breakdown of the new Star Wars trailer last night on YouTube.
The trailer, which I already thought was stellar, is fucking incredible. They point out little hidden hints in theme music and show you where it appeared in TFA. They point out subtle audio of Yoda, Obi Wan, and others juxtaposed with specific images to imply a certain hidden meaning. The amount of thought and planning that went into this is way beyond what is evident at first glance. Someone even went to the trouble of translating the language seen reflected on the glass of Finn's hypersleep chamber, and it reads, in part, "stable". So he's ok. Likely to meet up with Phasma who is still hunting him down for defecting. Also some really good buzz on what "it's time for the Jedi to end" means, as well as "it's so much bigger (than light and dark)" means, and where this new master/student thing is heading.
Just food for thought here: both The Force Awakens and Rogue One had initial trailers in which probably 80-90% of the clips didn't end up being in the final version of the movie. So while the theory crafting is fun, try not to look too deeply into it. That being said, it would appear that the creators are trying to convey a message with the trailer, so maybe we should read into it. That, or they just enjoy fucking with Star Wars fans.

If you have the time, and don't mind sharing what the buzz is I would greatly appreciate it. I could be a go getter and search Youtube for the video myself, but im not so much of a go getter these days. lol
The buzz is that Luke has repeatedly been devastated by this light/dark dynamic and the seemingly endless, eternal death match between Jedi and Sith. He's seen the strict, rigid religion of the Jedi push those closest to him into rebellion and darkness multiple times: his father, his protege, and he has come to believe that the only way for the Sith to end is for the Jedi to end also, and he will train Rey as a grey jedi, a force user, but not as a true Jedi as his faith in that order is defeated. What we'll see with Rey is something new. Not light. Not dark. But balance.

Trying to redefine the jedi purpose makes sense. This new series has clear parallels to the "New Jedi Order" series and in that, the extremely powerful Solo children ALL struggle with the balance between the light and the dark to form a sort of hybrid. Rey is some form of manifestation of Janna Solo. Kylo Ren is some form of Jacen Solo. They have explanations regarding the Old Republic Jedi (we get to know a character named Vergere) which also presents a different view of the force than they New Republic like Luke. Jacen Solo, one of the most powerful force users in Star Wars lore, finds himself trying to engage that balance where he CAN use the force offensively but not struggle with the internal conflict of using the force as a weapon. It's a lengthy character development that spans the entire series, but it does mimic this story in many ways. Janna finds love early and doesn't want to adopt the jedi philosophy of being a spiritual but alone being.
Their are Dark Jedi in the series and they are capable of using the force to kill very easily, so it's all very compelling story arc to develop. The Knights of Ren are essentially Dark Jedi. The New Jedi Order series has an entirely unique antagonist called the Yuuzhan Vong, outside invaders who are not really within the force universe, but I don't want to spoil.
If anyone has read that series I would be interested to hear theory on how it is linked to this new movie series.
