hotair.com/archives/2018/05/22/details-decline-evergreen-state-college/If you recall Evergreen State College is the place where a certain group of minorities basically took the campus hostage because the white students refused to leave during the annual day of absence bologna that the school engages in. Apparently, this turned off a shit ton of prospective students to the point that enrollment is down 10%, and if it drops by 20% the school runs the risk of having to shut down entirely. This makes me very happy, because it shows that people are just as sick of the crazy motherfukers on the left as most people are of the crazy motherfukers on the right. It would be absolutely fantastic if we could get back to middle-of-the-road bullshit, just for the sake of bringing some sanity back to our national discourse.

Unless you only meant extremism from one side is the problem. And as far as Elon Musk's idea, what makes it different than any other "fact checker"? Why wouldn't it just be biased only towards Musk's leanings?

I might have some right of Center ideas but I am by no stretch of the imagination a right winger. Nor am I an extremist. Second of all, it's not fact-checking and I'm not going to do your research for you Andrew. I gave you a paragraph about what musk is doing if you're concerned about it being no different than another fact Checker, go read about how it would be very different from any other fact checker. Stop being lazy and do your own damn research.

Boy, I was on board with the hilarity of that story. The comments took a dark turn into homoerotic fantasy. I don't understand. Assuming you're referring to my comment about butthole surfers:
Let me clear that up for you. I spent my career creating technical drawings and 3D CAD models of sometimes complex mechanical systems, so I'll go ahead and draw YOU a picture, without the aid of CADAM, CATIA, SDRC/I-DEAS or UGNX.
You MIGHT have noticed I rarely miss a chance to shit upon our cartoonishly liberal mainstream media. My comment was with regard to a hypothetical scenario of how oh, let's just say Yahoo "News" -- might have handled this story in a similar situation where two hypothetical gays wanted a cake made, and were refused, on religious or other grounds.
My point was simply that the story would have been focused on lecturing the reader on "BIGOTRY" rather than the humorous focus on some stupidly- programmed algorithm. Actually, they already have posted such supposedly "newsworthy" propaganda, whenever the opportunity arose.
And before you or any OTHER social justice warriors start with the "homophobe" stereotype nonsense, just know that I couldn't care less what they do in private. I've never advocated discriminating against them (after all, they don't CHOOSE to be that way), and supported the legal concept of civil same-sex unions. And yes, I've had a couple friends that I'm almost certain are gay, but they don't talk about it and I'd never ask. Because it ain't my business.
My only animosity toward them is against their militantly aggressive lobbying groups that lie outrageously about the percentage of gays in the population (saying it's 10-11% when it's really 2%), and bleat about how they are just as "normal" as heterosexuals.
Nope. Nonsense. It's a sexual perversion, nothing more or less.

Can you name any of these “hard right ideas” that Tony’s espoused here? (Spoiler: no you can’t) Build the wall! Dude. That's not even CLOSE to "right wing". This is exactly what I'm talking about. The mass media in general have such a left leaning bias that they have convinced a decent segment of our population that the notion of solid border security is "right wing" or "alt. right". But, it's not. If I were "right wing" I'd thump a bible and be religious. But I don't, and I'm not. If I were "right wing" I'd be against abortion completely and want it to be illegal. But I'm not, and I don't. I line up with the right on more issues than I do the left, but there are still some leftish ideals that I do support. Equality of opportunity among the races is one of them. I am right of center, but I'm not out on a wing. I support capitalism. I support free markets. I support my right to own a gun. I support my right to free speech. I support protecting the american worker. I support securing our borders and forcing people to enter the country in a documented and legal way. I support an America First mentality. I support legalizing marijuana across the board. I support mandatory body cams on law enforcement. I support the internal combustion engine. And I support less taxation and more fiscal freedom from the government and it's desires. I will not be pigeon-holed into supporting ideas that I disagree with just because other conservative leaning people support them. That's another problem that has popped up. BOTH wings are trying to load up their member lists based on a hatred for the other side. But only a weak minded person would fall in line with one group just because they hate another. I hate the left wing. Despise it with a passion. I dislike the right wing because I feel their views are too myopic and limited by archaic religious ideals. I believe something both arms of the media do not want me to believe, and that is: The majority is still middle of the road. Fiscally conservative and socially liberal. Not to the point of a 0% tax rate and not to the point of saying excess socialism is a solution to every problem. Neither side have all the right answers, which is why one is completely allowed to agree with both sides on various issues. That allows one to think freely without being constrained by identity politics or hard line left or right ideologies. Nuance might be on life support in our national political theater, but it is alive and well in your average person's political views.

It’s insane to say the border wall is right wing when nobody knows what type of legal immigration is going to be allowed. What if trump wants to build it and increase the volume of legal immigration by 3x? Is it still right wing? The media has done a fantastic job at creating an artificial line on so many issues, where basically you are in the tank for trump if you are not adamantly against something. There is no middle ground allowed concerning trump, you either hate him and think he colluded illegally to get elected, or you are a loyalist who will never disagree with anything he says.
The wall is a perfect example of this. I believe in legal immigration and couldn’t operate my business without Hispanic workers. I also think we need to increase part time immigration by way of worker visa programs. However I think we need a huge fucking wall with lasers, alligators, and land mines... because I want to keep track of who, how many, and what type of people come in here and how long they stay. Now when I tell someone that I love the idea of the wall, I immediately get labeled anti immigrant and a trump minion.

Building a wall around our borders, increasing military spending, corporatism and corporate fascism are all hard right ideals. We have lived in a pretty authoritarian right leaning country for at least the last 100 years. Just because that's the way it's been doesn't disqualify the ideas from being right wing. In fact, as far as I'm concerned all the "political correctness" is actually far right censorship disguised.
Face it, if you want a wall..you need big brother. If you want censored language to be enforced...you need big brother. The right and left have one big thing in common, they need a far right government in order to make sure that their wishes are made true. The overall number of pussies who would have zero chance without having their hand held by government is staggering. The number of those that are fooled into thinking they are the old school tough guy conservatives this country needs to get back on track is scary.

Bush, authorized about 700 miles of fencing along certain stretches of land between the border of the United States and Mexico. The act also authorized the use of more vehicle barriers, checkpoints and lighting to curb illegal immigration, and the use of advanced technology such as satellites and unmanned aerial vehicles. At the time the act was being considered, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer were all members of the Senate. (Schumer of New York is now the Senate minority leader.) Obama, Clinton, Schumer and 23 other Democratic senators voted in favor of the act when it passed in the Senate by a vote of 80 to 19. www.forbes.com/sites/eriksherman/2017/07/14/most-house-democrats-just-voted-for-a-defense-budget-far-bigger-than-trumps/#63b2a4ea6ea0There are currently 240 Republicans and 194 Democrats in the body, with 1 vacancy. You're trying to turn this back into a "oh he must be a Democrat Obama supporter" argument because that's all your mind is capable of apparently.
Read the rest of the post where I said that our government exists in a pretty authoritarian right spere. Democrats in government are not the extreme leftists you want them to be to fit your narrative. They are working in the same system of needing the population to need them, so they can keep getting kickbacks from our military industry and all the other industries backed by all the corporations that control the resources, and therefore you and I.
You want it to be that Trump is here to rescue us from it, but he's just here to switch around who's pockets are getting lined via our federal government. That's it.

And no matter how you chop it up, building a wall around your borders is a defensive and conservative move, inherently right wing.

And no matter how you chop it up, building a wall around your borders is a defensive and conservative move, inherently right wing. Your argument has not gone over my head... your argument is illogical and irrational. A wall has nothing to do with how many people or what we let in, it will have doors on it you know. A wall is a way to monitor what comes in and almost as importantly what leaves the country. There are 2 main reasons why we need a wall... 1) to control human inflow and outflow 2) to control material goods inflow and outflow. I don't think you are accepting that with a wall does not necessarily come tighter restrictions on those 2 things, it simply allows for us to monitor them with more factual basis. Your opinion on us being a Authoritarian Republic I believe is untrue as well... Authoritarianism, principle of blind submission to authority, as opposed to individual freedom of thought and action. In government, authoritarianism denotes any political system that concentrates power in the hands of a leader or a small elite that is not constitutionally responsible to the body of the people. Authoritarian leaders often exercise power arbitrarily and without regard to existing bodies of law, and they usually cannot be replaced by citizens choosing freely among various competitors in elections. The freedom to create opposition political parties or other alternative political groupings with which to compete for power with the ruling group is either limited or nonexistent in authoritarian regimes.
Do you honestly (turn off Rachel Maddow's voice in your head for 30 seconds) believe that if Donald Trump is our President for 8 years that at the end of it our government will be operating as it has for the last 100 years and politicians and lobbyists will be as cushy and comfortable with no checks and balances as they were 2 years ago?

Anarchism is a left-wing philosophy but when referring to American Politics, it is like an extreme form of Libertarianism making it more towards the right. Anarchy 101. STFU JACK HOLE.

Wrong place to even hint at any outside thinking. Jesus Christ Kyle, you are looking for a battle over something I'm not attacking. Your entire rants are complete ignorant dogshit when contexted with my posts.
It's like you took the conversation that was between me and Tony and took me saying the word "wall" to be an attack on Trump(?), an endorsement of whoever you just said(?), and an opportunity for you yell a bunch of random shit that has nothing to do with what I was talking about.
It's almost breathtakingly dumb.

For the record, I was just making a friendly "oh the guys making the gay jokes are the closeted fags" joke about your and whoever's post about the cakes. I didn't think it warranted an essay on your straightness, but it was well put together.

Who is yelling and who is talking about random shit. You made a very narrow point, followed by a very simple argument. Instead of resorting to name calling and belligerent changing of the subject, why don't you back up the claims that you have made? I don't care what you think of Tony, I think it shows your ignorance when you claim a wall is both "hard right" and will broaden out Authoritarian basis, since you can't even tell me what our policy on immigration will be post wall. If you are going to make claims, don't act like a child when people ask you to back them up... it makes you look like you are citing something you saw on T.V. and haven't given real thought to.

Two different universes is all I can figure.
I'm not backing off of anything I said. I'm just failing to realize what your point is towards mine other than you just wanting to talk about how great the wall is and Trump's immigration plan.
The wall was used by me as a minute example of a bigger thought. It was so minor in what I was saying that it makes you look foolish and petty to argue about it.

I think the point is that you said I've said some right wing stuff, and "build the wall" was the evidence you gave. But the idea of building the wall is not a right wing idea. It has been espoused by both sides, and has been implemented by both left and right presidents which means it is a bipartisan idea and neither side can take credit or lay blame for it. So if build the wall is the only "right wing" thing I said, and it isn't a right wing thing to say, but you're sticking by what you said, then.....you're one of those stubborn folks who won't admit when they are wrong, which, is totally fine. Just own it.
