I don't know how, but I know there are some that are serving. I don't really know too much about the process. My brother falsified information in order to enlist that if the government checked records they would have seen. He's still in the the Air Force what 8 years later? They don't really give a shit, they want troops to send over there. My employee tried to get into the Navy a few years ago. Wanted to go Seal or recon. He passed the tests, but failed the background check because he was associated with "unsavory people". He lived with his sister and her boyfriend, Her boyfriend had felonies.
I guess its what you go in for. But I would've thought the Air force would check stuff. I guess your brother just got lucky.

The French Foreign Legion was one of the best armies in the world, what made them different was they had a policy of if you sign up, they gave you a new name, when you completed your service you got French citizenship and a clean slate. Once they got rid of that, and you couldn't any longer "run from your problems/country" and join up, they became a shell of what they were and what made them such a great army. |

Reading more into it... I guess under daca they were no longer considered illegal and are allowed to enlist. I thought it was odd that so many would have "slipped by". The military does background checks. |

Wonder how the news is gonna cover the events of tonight tomorrow.
Multiple journalists arrested because they weren't allowed to leave the area after being told to disperse.
Looks like a baby was maced.
Multiple officers caught spraying people who were already restrained and down, just because they felt like it.
The police were chanting "Whose Streets? OUR STREETS" after arresting them all.
The lawsuits for this are gonna possibly dwarf Ferguson once this is all over. Rumours were over 30 million worth of settlements from suits against the various police departments after Ferguson, but now they pissed off people with better lawyers.

The people who threw shit, and the one who broke a window, and the other that kicked that car. The crowd abandoned them and even pointed them out to the officers. There was no more looking the other way by most of the crowd for people who did that shit. One of the people freelancing for I think it was Reuters got arrested with a couple people earlier in the day chasing down the guy who broke a window pointing him out to the cops. The community here, the people who actually live here are pissed at both sides right now, but it seems in general they are hating that the cops aren't discriminating who they are going after. The one time most of the protesters are actually helping the police with their job, the police basically say fuck you. |

I want to even though they stop the buses early and no way back home, but I can't risk being arrested this week before my meeting. If it continues into next weekend I will. Later in the video you see one of the guys trying to get home actually thrown back into the group by the cops. Two people out walking their dogs, one person there with their kid. It was still early for the area and normal people were out and didn't realize they were shutting down the area like that. The guy filming is a fucktard but you can see them in the video spray people already down and restrained. One of the people arrested there was a reporter from the St Louis Post Dispatch (Mike Faulk), about 20 minutes before the mass arrest and spraying happened he was covering for the paper and tweeted that they couldn't find out where to go to get out. Few minutes after that they were headed to the line of bike cops as that seemed to be where the police wanted them to leave thru. But nope... I don't support the ones that get violent, even if the police are the ones that pushed them to it. There is an issue with the police force though when you have over a thousand protesters being fine and you have like 3 trying to cause shit, the crowd helps the cops find them and the cops decide to punish the whole crowd? The whole thing is a clusterfuck. On one side you have a force of adrenaline junky cops that have been considered so racist by their own brothers in blue that they have formed two separate police unions. Then on top of it all you have Jeff Roorda, an ex-legislator, ex-cop, democrat who set himself up as a consultant with the police forces in the area and the ED and Business manager of one of the two police unions (the SLMPD), and he makes bank every time he convinces them to pull out riot police and mass overtime. On the another side you have a community fed up with corrupt police forces, corrupt politicians, and wrecked local economy. A lot of these problems could be fixed with a city-county merger, but the city politicians won't do it because then they lose the power to afford the contracts. Then on another side you have Soros & Murdoch and company trying to manipulate the narrative to suit their own purposes. And they have are able to play both the other sides like fiddles to their benefit. In the end it doesn't matter with side you fall on, the fact it is so fractured and there isn't a way to fix it without a complete overhaul of the local governments means we are all fucked. This is going to be happening EVERYWHERE. |

Maybe, it is for a charity though a few of us have been trying to get going for the last 6 months or so. I don't expect to get paid as I probably won't be the one running things if everything moves forward, and the rest of positions as of now will be unapid (at least thru the test phase). This meeting is just to secure funding for a pilot program that will restore closed art programs for 12 high schools across the country. We've already lined up funding to expand it upon the pilot's success, a few school districts willing to be a part of the pilot program but so far not the money needed start it in the first place. There is a correlation between the closing of art and music programs in high schools, and a subsequent increase in crime, decrease in healthcare, decrease in college graduation rates, increase in unemployment, and increase in poverty in the respective areas where they have the closures. Most people want to write those neighborhoods off, but if there a way to at least try to help even a bit, why not. Besides I've always believed that everyone growing up should have access to the full range of educational topics, and it honestly saddens me that we can't offer that in a country as affluent as we are. And on the plus side, it is a way to not only restore the closed programs, but to offer a way to also reduce the cost of pre-existing programs that are on the verge of closure but still have money in the budget. Maybe that'll let some schools free up some money to spend in other areas they really need it. |

Meanwhile the trumpeted headline from Yahoo (for example) is "Bad news for Russia interference 'deniers'." I notice that they didn't mention "collusion." Reminds me of how "global warming" has turned to "climate change." When I click the article it is clear that it was designed not to be read whatsoever beyond the headline. These guys have been playing the group psychology game via mass media for over a hundred years. They can compel a country to send millions of its beloved sons to their demise overseas, and then celebrate that decision forever. There is no 20-20 hindsight. They can have savages burn and destroy your flourishing, safe, prosperous, storybook town forever (Selma, Birmingham, etc), and you'll erect statues to those marauding animals with 80 IQs. |

And unltimately....were they wrong to suspect as much? Hell, Obama could have been directly involved in the decision to to that. He even could have done it to help the dems and damage the conservatives. But we still have no proof that he tapped Trumps phones, devices or rooms at his tower, like Donald explicitly claimed. This is Manafort. And he DID meet with russians. We don't know what they have with these taps too. Could be some damning shit. I'd really wait and see before I decided this news is actually good for Trump's cause
