Interesting enough . . . and this is exactly why you don't rush to conclusions . . . the general consensus on both cases has flip-flopped now, and the Tulsa shooting is looking murky while the Carolina shooting is looking like a straight up execution with a possible gun plant because half-a-dozen roid raging frat boys in swat gear wanted to hassle a dude they "suspected of marijuana use" and he behaved weirdly rather than throw himself at their feet. Dash cam is out today and it looks BAD. I saw the footage too and it's hard to clearly see what is in his hand, but looks like something is. What video are you watching? If that is a gun, he is 100% getting shot by every single law enforcement unit in the US every single time and it will be justified. You can't hold onto a gun even pointed down after you are told to drop it. Period. Swat gear? They had vests. Let's ease off the exaggeration. How did the suspects prints and DNA get on the gun while people were filming this? If they planted the gun in open daylight while on camera we will end up hearing about it and they all go to prison. I going to call BS. This is what i saw. fox13now.com/2016/09/24/charlotte-police-to-release-body-cam-dash-cam-footage-of-keith-lamont-scott-shooting/ Even if it was a full scale fck up and they planted evidence via conspiracy and somehow got away with it all while being taped, no one is disputing it was a BLACK officer that shot him. None of the protesters are pissed about police brutality; they are pissed at white police brutality. For 99% of the people out their stealing shit, attacking white people and creating mayhem this is a race issue.

I saw the same video. I'm not clear on where the gun is. Also not clear on why they were bothering him in the first place. Suspected marijuana use? Anybody hear a dog whistle there? Was marijuana found? If so, GREAT job cops!!!!!

I'm with you on the suspected marijuana use, if true. It's unclear why they ever came into contact with one another and the initial reports said they were trying to serve a warrant on someone else which would explain why multiple officers were already on the scene. How/why they dealt with this dude needs better explanation. But, beyond all of that, it's still a black cop, black police chief and dead black dude but we have madness happening under the mislabeled application of racism.

I won't argue against that at all. Black culture's victim fetish is absurd at this point. It's like a junkie that can't say no . . . to racial paranoia. The media is the co-dependent, enabling mother that paints the picture of grievance when, in reality, it's like 200 (police on black) killings a year, and the vast majority of those are clearly criminal interactions. Meanwhile, blacks kill 4,000 blacks a year and you don't get a peep. I just roll my eyes at this whole spectacle. It's truly and completely ridiculous.
I'm this guy, though: I don't take sides. Cops have to back the fuck off, too. Like the US and Russia during the cold war. A measured draw down, step by step, before this thing gets totally out of control. Cops have been off their chain for a long time now.

A NYT article yesterday related some half-assed police explanation of WHY this guy was, shall we say, "confronted."
SUPPOSEDLY -- according to the cops' version of the truth -- this guy WAS OBSERVED ROLLING A JOINT in the vehicle, as a squad of LEO's arrived to arrest someone else. He further was -- again, according to initial claims from the cops -- SEEN HOLDING UP A GUN within the vehicle, although they did not claim he brandished it.
This is their explanation for why the dead guy was approached at all.
Yeah, it sounds pretty damned fishy to me too, unless the guy was some kind of lunatic. Supposedly he DID have a "traumatic head injury" according to his wife, so we need to step back and sort out the truth from the lies.

Serving warrants is a fucked up, difficult, dangerous gig for LEOs. You do often have a team but you also often run into others that 1) think you may be there for them and want to get the fuck out of dodge; 2) have no intention of not somehow fucking with you; 3) are dangerous. I have no idea if it's a bad neighborhood but most LEO stick out like a sore thumb and every other person notes them and can tell immediately. They are definitely going to clear a car with someone sitting in it if they see a gun. They don't want officers walking around/past a car and serving a warrant with some unknown that has a gun and neither would anyone here. It's also possible they saw a guy sitting in his car in the middle of the day smoking a joint and they still wanted to clear it while serving a warrant. Yeah, they might have also just been assholes that wanted to fuck with him but their primary concern is going to be officer safety, serving the warrant and getting the fck out of dodge. Might have been a case of wrong place, wrong time, with gun, shit happens quickly and he got out of his car unclear of the commands but fucked up and came out with his gun. They don't know about his TMI and at that point it doesn't matter - and if he did why is he carrying a gun?

"but their primary concern is going to be officer safety"
Thus you get off mission, fuck with random dudes nearby who aren't bothering anyone, get super aggressive with him, start breaking out windows and firing weapons, etc. Got it.
Officer safety 101, there.
Sounds a little like a chapter from marauding goons 101, but I assure you, it's allllll about officer safety.

Looked like a bad shoot from the vid, but I don't know how wide a berth you want to give an armed, under the influence, brain injurred, violent ex-felon who's not complying.

The guy jacked up on PCP kept disobeying police orders. He was a danger to himself and others around him. I hope the female officer doesn't get convicted.
The guy "reading the book" had an outstanding warrant(s) and a firearm in his possession. Good shoot either way. I'm sure both guys had priors. Good shoot either way
The white lawyer who went on a shooting spree and was put down. Good shoot.
Good riddance to all

The silence of Lil J is embarrassingly funny, however is par for the BLM course when facts never seem to add up. Lets just slither away until another upstanding citizen points a gun at those bastard pigs and gets leveled... then we can prematurely cry foul, harm a bunch of helpless/innocent people, and demand justice for the life lost................. meanwhile back in your typical ghetto, 18 blacks are gunned down by other blacks and nobody looks up from lighting their molatov cocktails.

Man as these things marinate . . . it's every time, right . . . once they marinate it just looks less and less like what you originally thought, and the media has a MASSIVE role in that distortion. Just unbridled enthusiasm to push the narrative. Then it's crickets 2 weeks later when the dude was a pshycho drug addict with a stolen gun wandering down the middle of the interstate, mean mugging folks and ignoring commands at gunpoint. Then you work some Google action for about 15 minutes and see how many A) white folks killed by cops in the past month that nobody's heard of, and B) black folks killed by blacks that nobody's heard of.
They (media) decide what you know, shape how you feel about it, and they're creating this race war one distorted narrative at a time.

Exactly, the weak minded always allow the media to steer their emotions in the direction they want while the more sensible people wait for the whole story. Not just the sensational headlines for the sheep.

They (media) decide what you know, shape how you feel about it, and they're creating this race war one distorted narrative at a time. The media and social media is just cresting a division between people that just want to get ahead in life, want to sleep soundly at the end of the day and get a little action before bed. We are pretty much all the fucking same. We've grown up together, bled together on the field, whether it's ball or battle. Imo, you get the Media out of the way and we would be arms across America. Now social media...back when we were growing up, to be exposed to some racial shit, you had to be right there. There could be repurcussions for your words or actions. One shit talker may be made by his own friends to back his shit talking ways up to someone that wasn't having it. All depended on the people and level of repsect. Now...any moron anywhere can post thier bullshit all over Facebook without those similar repurcussions. And when one side of the kennel starts barking, the other always gets going as well. Kind of a mess we have become. And here I was, naively thinking the racial bullshit would die down after my melting pot generation. I couldn't hAve been more wrong or more dissappointed.

I concur. Racial tension is palpable, conspicuous, live in a way I've never seen it, and I've been woke for a hot minute now. Maybe 10-15 years ago felt like we turned a corner, we were going to walk together into a new era, to heal and to celebrate each other's accomplishments . . . and that vibe is just fucking GONE. It's egg shells and ambushes and everyone on edge and things are in a bad, bad spot and there's a massive, enthusiastic machine that's heavily invested in pushing this thing over the edge.

Was it even 10-15 years ago it ended? Feels more like 5-10. The "subtle" racists were even dying out, it was a behind the backs with 2 closed doors thing on all sides and now it just overt hate all over again. Coincidence that these tempters got agitated and flared when the citizens were getting fed up with overreaching government and trending towards shrinking the federal??

Just read that the retard killed in the El Cajon incident pointed a vape pen at the cops before they shot him. I have two feelings about this... cop couldn't tell a vape pen from a weapon? More prevalent though is that if your life matters so much why the fudge are you pointing shit at a cop?

No, you cannot expect an LEO to wait and see exactly what it is some crazy person walking around in traffic has while not complying. It's a good case to examine though because their will be many people who think the LEO should risk a bullet and be 100% positive before using deadly force. This is a good "fine line" case. If it was his cell phone or his finger he risked getting shot. Pretend to draw and fire on a LEO pointing a gun at you? Suicide by cop.

I mean, think about it...didn't it really seem like we were making some progress in regards to all of that? And in the past 5 or so years...it seems like it's just gone to shit. I really and truly believe it's social media giving every moron a platform. It's right there, in your face, the moment you turn on your phone and start scrolling during your morning deuce. Starting off your day with some of the comment sections, imo, is a great way to get a bit of a chip on your shoulder.
I read some random tidbit about how you want to start your morning without the net, because in doing so, you are starting your morning in focus on what someone elses thoughts are and not your own.
I had ditched my social media, but brought it back for work. I don't really care for it any more. Just too many people up in my business.

Sounds like suicide by cop. I *sort of* got that hunch in the previous few incidents too. Knowingly taunting agitated police at gunpoint . . . a bit like poking a bear with a stick. The bear is still the killer. But . . . dude . . . you fucking poked it clear as day.
What I hate about this is there is real, COMPLETELY unacceptable, COMPLETELY unprovoked police brutality that has to be addressed, but now it's getting sucked into this irrational, race paranoid, politically charged football game. And there is real, completely anti-social, completely malignant violent street culture that needs to be exposed, dealt with, understood, but it's now churning in the same agenda-driven black hole and will not get the serious treatment it requires.
And yes, if we were able to unplug, from media, from politics, none of these problems would be problems. The 7 people in the continent that want to use a trans gender bathroom could use it. It's not a national fucking issue. The 35 gays who actually want weddings could find a unitarian church and get it done. Nobody cares. The 40 or 50 sketchy cop vs black killings each year could be REAL legal issues that we deal with as a society. Hell (pipe dream) the 2,500 black on black killings might even get looked at in context as the massive issue it is.
Access of informaiton is a powerful tool, but we've also yet to learn to defend ourselves from it's manipulative charms.

It seems today they place themselves above that, but it is supposed to be about you being about something greater than yourself.

I for one am happy to tell the cops that they can shoot as many asshats with guns pointed anywhere near them as they want.

Far from it. And regardless, the job is to protect and serve, not themselves but the population. That is their duty, and what they are paid for. Don't become a cop if you want to put yourself first. Just like joining the military.

What in the F*CK does an "innocence versus guilt" concept got to do with a police-versus-perpetrator confrontation?
When a suspect refuses to obey commands, show his hands, or acts in other suspicious ways, there is AN IMMEDIATE DANGER the cop is confronted with. Legalities go right out the window in that scenario.
Of course you knew that, but you have this childish need to "have the last word" I guess....
