What's wrong with shooting bad guys in a movie? Shooting people is fine. It is a white dude wearing a hoodie!!!! Bruce went for the cultural appropriation double whammy! This film should be excellent!

So, Scorsese is going to do a Joker origin movie not based off of previous material.

Most movies nowadays are forgoing early reviews, pushing them off as far as possible as to not kill their box office performance in this bear market. However the new IT believed in itself so much it let it out for early reviews. So far to much much acclaim, many calling it a top 10 horror movie ever. Remains faithful to both the book and the original miniseries.
Interesting note, the new IT was supposed to be made by the Duffer Brothers. Even Stephen King wanted them to write and direct it based on their submission, but the company said no because they weren't well known enough. So they went off and made Stranger Things as a fuck you to them. Looks like it wound up win-win for all of us.

Arnold Schwarzenegger as a John Wick sorta super assassin comedy thing? This could actually be a fun movie.

Sign me up,
But it'll end in a close-to-home tearjerker no doubt.
Pup don't make it. That will only amplify the highlight of the phenomenal bond between man and wolf, but still, gonna be sad.

No doubt we're gonna get some standard man/dog heartstrings . . . but I love the era, the concept, and I mean . . . this, to one degree or another, really happened. We domesticated wolves with some series of progressively more intimate fireside chats, bonding, resource sharing, etc. It's fascinating.

Can't wait for the Freddie Mercury movie. I love the casting choice, but it seems like they are really changing up his story to cater to specific groups.

They are portraying him as a gay British guy, but if you ever read/watched his interviews, and those of his friends he always owned up to being a bisexual Indian. However you know Hollywood's love of whitewashing, and the American LGBTQ "mafia" hates bisexuals (ironic given their abbreviation).

"Fuck you. You're a republican who likes to smoke pot." - This is why you lose elections.

Find one that is adamant about the science behind global warming / climate change, preferably one that is resolute in their sexuality. Then say "so you admit that you are not *insert prefix here*-sexual? Science says we are all biologically Pansexual, so you aren't gay/straight/bi/unicorn/etc.... Now before old crackhead Cyber loses his shit... Notice I was talking biological sexuality. Your personal preferences are your own, both romantically and sexually you likely have preferences, and barring a crazy ass never likely to happen situation (whether drugs, deserted island, end of the world, etc...), when your biological impulses take complete control, your id is released, you'll fuck anything. But, that is just a technicality, but its a great one to force a someone to consider what they have to accept as reality. There are only 3 chances of you ever being in a situation where your body winds up that desperate, and you have complete lack of driven conscious, super ego, ego, whatever you want to call that part, though. Slim, None, and not a chance in Hell. But it happens, just look at Vegita, that pruno and isolation broke him and he wound in an episode of Triple D, and I don't mean Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, though his hair probably looked like Guy Fieri's afterwards.

From the director of In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths, headlined by Frances McDormand. Looks good.

She cunt-kicked a bitch!
Seems a little run of the mill on Harrison's part but I really like him as an actor, probably one of my favorites. I'll give this a go but not sure how great it'll end up being.

Saw some really interesting upcoming trailers:
I remain bonkers hyped about Alpha.
There's a new Saw and a new Insidious, both of which garner something slightly above "meh" interest from me, but will be paying attention to reviews.
Something that looks out of the Hellboy universe, The Shape of Water, has my curiosity but I need to learn more before committing.
Moderately interested in American Made - the Tom Cruise smuggles cocaine for the CIA flick, looks a bit like "Blow" with Depp.
Not really feeling the Flatliners remake, but thought the original was fairly solid. Will wait to see some reviews.
Liam Neesen on a train trying to solve some mystery in The Commuter should be worth a look.
This horror film with Fassbender, The Snowman, looks really solid. A bit of a Fargo feel with a much harder edge to it.
All the Money in the World. Stars Kevin Spacey as J. Paul Getty whose grandson is kidnapped and held for ransom, and he refuses to pay, hires Mark Walbergh as a sort of P.I. to find the kid. Riddley Scott directs.
The Killing of a Sacred Deer. Nichole Kidman and Collin Farrel in a mega creepy looking thriller about disabled teenage patients in a hospital???

Interesting. Got a bit of an Arrival vibe mixed with the standard "what's beyond the barrier" flick. Noticed a nature on steroids theme, such as that in Princess Monanoke, in which we see the same forest spirit:

Probably be years before I get around to watching this, I can't stand to watch a single film in a trilogy until I can watch them all together.

Must be some thing to that, to where maybe what's in that nebula like area does things to men, that it may not, or may be mitigated against woman. Not sure, but it's an interesting detail

Man, I just wanted this movie to just be good and not sully the memory of the original, but no fear there I guess. Because reviews for Blade Runner 2049 are off the fucking charts
Now obviously there's still a chance that you or I might not love it, but it's certainly encouraging. And I plan on seeing it at the theater, next weekend. And I just watched three separate short films they made for it, that fill in some of the gaps between 2019 and 2049. And they're all really good. One's even an anime made by the Cowboy Bebop guy. Check em out.....
