You guys seem to be doing it the opposite way we are.
Here, the towns and cities already have most of their ordinances established. The expected bans in affluent towns already exist. And the towns that are embracing it have made their positions clear.
We've had a few morons sink multi million investments into grows before they knew how the town was going to go. Sucks for them I guess, but they moved too fast and didn't calculate their risk correctly. They get no pity from me though. We're going slow to make sure we're in 100% compliance.
Those morons lost out on millions by trying to chase thousands. Kinda stupid if you ask me.

That is how California works... this state is full of dumb fucking hippies who have no idea how to run a business or manage anything. They are just lucky that there is so much money here to cover up for their ineptness.

They are just lucky that there is so much money here to cover up for their ineptness. The hippies will (hopefully) find themselves back on their communes as real business people enter and outperform them in the areas of business that require actual time and effort. You can see in Colorado that something like that already happened. The top 68% of that market is controlled by just 13 people/companies. And that percentage is probably going to increase as we move forward because the people running these things like legitimate businesses are going to press their advantage and continue to expand. I think that's probably the pattern that we are going to see play out in all of the states that have legalized, but California most likely has more hippies in the mix than any other state does so it might take a bit longer for them to be pushed out.

I think there's always going to be a piece of the market that "true heads" make up that won't go buy weed from the man, but that will only be MAYBE 20% of the market.
The rest will just buy marlboros and camels or whatever they can get the most conveniently and cheapest.

Going to be trying the final result of our first attempt at Crossing strains tonight. We crossed Grand Daddy Purp and Critical Hog. Looks promising.

Tony, what are the purchase limits in your state? I also forgot, are you guys medical only or recreational? Here are the Denver limits from my trip a couple of weeks ago.

As you guys know from my trip report, I also went to California.
Denver is kind of strict. You have to go through a double set of doors to get into a recreational shop. They scan your id, only let certain number of people in at a time, if you buy edibles, they have to double wrap it in a child proof bag, just a bunch of rules.
Cali was a breeze. A guy outside asking for ID. Then you go in and thats it. They didn't even gave me a bag, i took my stuff in my hands and walked out.
The other thing I didn't know is that recreational is not in the whole state of Colorado. I went to colorado springs and it was only medical. While Denver is also recreational. Just an hour and 15 minutes from Denver and different laws.

Up here the limits are 2.5 oz of flower or 5 grams of concentrate. Edibles are still getting sorted out. If you have a medical card you can have unlimited edibles. If not, you can have none.
Recreational is legal but not to sell yet.

Just put some Kosher Kush in the pots. Looking forward to how this strain turns out. It's between it and Master Kush as the kush mother.

Good luck, if you're really going for a legit big time phenotype hunt, should be a fun process. I have served as a tester and consoltant for my buddy. He ran 36 seeds of different Grand Daddy Purp genetics last summer and 24 AK-47 over this last winter/spring. For the record Kosher Kush > Master Kush from my experience.

I agree with Kosher over Master. Never really was a big fan of MK.

I don't have nearly as much experience with straight indica as I do with hybrids.
My experience with MK lead me to think it was good for one thing: bed time. Tried doing some staple yardwork on it (mowing the lawn, cleaning the roof gutters, etc.) and found it just made me lazy. Definitely not an afternoon kind of bud, unless you're livin life Jackel style.

Definitely not an afternoon kind of bud, unless you're livin life Jackel style. I like my hybrids and sativas. Love something with flavor. Always been big on a good sour diesel, or something with those chemdawg origins. The indicas are more for the jackal life style, or those that are in some kind of pain and don't want to go the route of pain killers. Others don't care for the sativa high either, makes some people paranoid. There is nothing worse than puffing an indica right before you are about to get some shit done. Or before the gym.

Yup. Lesson learned on that one for sure.
There is no comparison between it and the Durban Poison as far as getting moving is concerned.
But I don't like being social when I've had DB. I just want to move and concentrate on what I'm doing, which brings a different kind of mental relaxation.
So indica before bed, sativa for focused physical activity and hybrids for the rest.

I like sativas and hybrids for social smoking, when I do.
Honestly, I rarely smoke during the day anymore. Maybe on weekends if I'm doing something fun and light. I appreciate the edge I have when I'm sober for getting shit done though.
But that's why I'm such an indica head. I smoke for relaxation and to calm my mind down a little so I'm not so intense at home, and for the medicinal purpose of being able to sleep. I have and always have had bad insomnia. Even back when I was a shovel guy throwing 50 lb shovels of asphalt around all day, I'd be up til 1 in the morning and up at 5.
I think it's pretty clear when I'm posting sober vs when I'm posting after getting home and unwinding and smoking. My thoughts are less coherent, but my attitude is better.

As far as specific strains when it comes to indicas: Kosher Kush is definitely good, Raspberry Kush, you can find some of the different OG cuts that are more pure indica but most are hybrids, but as far as kush goes: hands down is still some old school Bubba. Usually seed vendors call it pre 98 Bubba now, but if you can find the phenos with natural purple in the buds...mmmmm, mmmmm. That would be my all time favorite for what I need it for + taste.
Sativas: I prefer a sativa leaning hybrid over the pure hazes and stuff. Golden Goat or Sweet Island Skunk for me.

Speaking of Golden Goat, I am growing one right now that I intended on letting grow into a bush as a long-game 'fuck you' to valetudo. But the powers that be (aka, my new housemate) are putting the kibosh on my in home growing with the baby, so I'm flowering it out.

Oklahoma, of all places, just legalized marijuana in a fucking landslide. And, the interesting thing, based on turnout demographics, it's driven by older voters, which are historically very conservative, and not in the good way. It's a backlash to the over-prescribing of opioids and narcotics and the dirty alliance between state government and big pharma to really push this shit, not totally unlike what the VA does. So you got Rs and Ds both voting to legalize, as well as young and old both voting to legalize, in order to give SB788 a fairly comfortable victory tonight. The fucking absurdity of everyone you know having a darvaset prescription but the teenager down the street going to jail for a dime bag has just become too ridiculous to ignore, even for the hyper religious 50+ crowd that drives voter turnout in this state and nation wide.

It's medical, but as we already saw in Cali, getting a script for anxiety is suuuuuuper fucking difficult. And the data (very limited still) tends to show that once this happens, a domino effect of minor possession and recreational use tends to follow, attitudes change, law enforcement priorities change, court actions change, etc. Maybe, if we're really fucking lucky, no more photo opps in the paper with deputy dipshit and his fucking drug dogs and hired goons in hand-me-down swat gear posing with 8oz of pot from a "major bust".

I know all about it, I got kicked in, arrested, and locked in a cage for 45 days for.... what ended up being 18 grams of weed and paraphernalia.
Missouri's state legislature passed a very strict medical law earlier this year and we are voting on a more inclusive one in the fall. Hoping you're right, but I'm afraid the domino effect will be a lot slower in our Bible belt states than more liberal ones. Lots of local politics and red tape to sort out, municipalities not being ready to give up the weed revenue, etc.
Hopefully everyone realizes there will be enough tax money to fill everyone's coffers off it.

Some people in the states that are being tight asses need to do some basic arithmetic.
Tax revenue > fines revenue. Every time.
I want to open a dispensary in OK called Baphlingly OK Buds. The buds would just be satisfactory but not amazing.
Also....
The FDA's approval of that marijuana derived pain pill from the EU is a signal that the schedule 1 status of the plant is coming to an end.
