Plus the lack of promotion... No. Barely anyone is talking about it. I haven’t seen hardly any commercials or posts on FB. People are starting to see through the UFC’s bullshit and aren’t buying it anymore.

People are starting to see through the UFC’s bullshit and aren’t buying it anymore. I don't think you understood my post. There is a lack of promotion. Conor hadn't agreed to any media and the UFC is frustrated. Hence why you haven't seen much promotion aka commercials... The fight will do good numbers, the gate pretty much indicates this will be a big one. Biggest of the year! Unless Conor decides to fight at the end of the year.

Fuck. I didn’t mean to quote you.
I agree. I haven’t seen shit.
I’m not convinced people really care about it otherwise.

Casuals will care more than we do, and they will drive the numbers. In the last year, how many times have people asked you "Hey when in Conor fighting again?!"

Dana is a promoter. Always has been. I don't believe anything he says when it comes to hyping the UFC.
That said, Conor v. Khabib has me about as excited for a fight as I can remember. Barring JBJ v. Cormier for the HW belt, this is about as good as it gets.
I'm praying to the MMA gods this fight really happens. No arrests. No weight cutting issues. Pleeeeease.

I think it can happen. Conor is as mainstream as it gets. Think about all the people that watched him vs Floyd. Also think about everyone that watched the TMZ video of the bus thing.
The casual fans will be the difference.

They are now saying it's trending at 2.5 million. Crazy.
What a weird press conference. No fans? Strange but Coked out Conor was pretty funny.

Conor sounded like a fucking moron. Khabib doesn’t even give a shit.

I like solid trash talking and intensity. However, when the shit Conor says doesn't even make sense, it's worthless. Why didn't you get off the bus and fight me and 40 guys? Ahh really? That's a real question? That's not even a good fake question.

I thought Conor came across as tired, emotional, and rattled. He usually is relaxed and assured during these press conferences, but he looked like a man ready to crack.
Khabib, on the other hand, is about as boring as they come.

Khabib isn’t in this for the theatrics.
He just wants to fight.

At this point everyone knows Conor acts like this to sell the fight. Khabib was as cool as the other side of the pillow. Khabib was not phased at all by the coked up ramblings of the drunk leprechaun. "Six October" all that matters to Khabib.
And lol at Conor carring his belts around...

So khabib is boring and wants to fight, while conor is loud confident and ready to crack? Sounds like a typical "russian" vs irishman.

I'm guessing 500k buy range. It won't even do 1 million.
Habib isn't a big star and conor has been MIA since the Mayweather loss.
Not to mention the promotion for this fight has seemingly been non-existent.

So they made $144,000,000 off PPV buys. Plus gate. Plus merchandise. Someone raking it in.
I wonder if Dana is on salary or gets a cut of each event?
Anyone know?

Unless things have changes since the $4B sale and I forgot, Dana remains a small minority owner and thus would get a part of the profits.

Conor sells fights. Maybe I should rephrase that. The name Conor McGregor sells events. It doesn't matter who he is fighting.

I'll bet that Khabob made more money in the Conor fight than he has in his entire career combined. Which is why the guy is such a mental midget. He should've been thanking Conor for the payday after the fight rather than running into the crowd trying to assault people. You just CANT go into the crowd. That's a big no no. I don't though. Maybe the brawl was a good thing... if Conor can win an easy fight or two, then they can line up a Conor/kabob rematch in Russia or somewhere in Europe and they could use the bus incident and the brawl to hype the fight to reach that elusive 2 million PPV buy mark.

I wouldn't advice a rematch in Russia. They don't play the "insult for payday" game. And you're making it sound that Conor woke up one morning and gave Khabib money like it's charity.

Remember Conor going into the crowd after Aldo? That wasn't such a big deal. They didn't hold Conor's pay for that incident... One could say Khabib started to promote the rematch before anyone even knew. One could say he is playing 4 dementional chess! Lol

Looks like there won't be a rematch. I guess the UFC already offered Khabib 15 mil and he turned it down. He said he won't fight Conor again. He says he wants to fight Tony then retire.
