Don't see how all of these cars, refineries, etc doesn't have any ill effect on the climate, the quality of the air or our health. Seems pretty obvious we are contributing to the problem. We absolutely are contributing to things that cause climate change. The debate is how much. Science says, pretty much not at all. If you are riddled with bullets, you really think a pin prick to your finger is gonna tilt the scale in a noticeable way?

This is the problem. Everything said here had been taken into account. We know carbon levels were very high in the past. We also know that sea levels were much higher. We are pretty sure why carbon levels were higher in the past (volcanic activity) and that warming followed shortly after.
However, the earth is able to maintain equilibrium over time. Now you out billions of tons of CO2 from humans and the earth can't keep its equilibrium. Solar flares, the Sun's output, magnetic poles, and everything else has been taken into account and we still see a warming trend.
The issue is that is isn't the apocalypse, the earth won't end. It will keep spinning for billions of years after we die off. However, it will be expensive. Sea levels will rise and it will crush the economy in some coastal cities and low lying cities. It will be New Orleans on a much larger scale projected to cost trillions. This isnt happening next week or in our lifetimes but in a hundred or some odd years. We will still be alive, it won't kill us off but it will be detrimental.
Arguing the whole, "climate always changes" isn't relevant because NOBODY is saying the climate doesn't change. We know it does and we also know humans are having a negative impact. It is silly that we are acting scientifically illiterate here. We are typing on our smart phones (or talking through Dragon), use our GPS, and watch the weather channel because scientists know what the fuck their doing but climate change? Oh no, those SCIENTISTS are IDIOTS, LIARS, and CONS. Come on...

I'm not taking sides, because I see the sound reasoning in creating an argument to get us off fossil fuels, which are economically, socially and politically problematic. However, climate change is very clearly related to Solar changes. It is, after all, the one thing responsible for heating our planet. Sun activity weather forecasting is accurate back all the way past the Mini Ice Age during the Medieval times. An analogy of CO2 based science... "My car's not running very well so I'm going to ignore the engine, which is the sun, and the transmission, which is the water vapor (clouds), and I'm gonna look at the one nut on the right rear wheel, which is the human produced CO2." -Prof Tim Ball, University of Winnepeg www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJBDI7jVMqMOne might be tempted (as Wikipedia does) to label Ball and many other scientists as "climate change deniers", or "climate deniers". Yet this is a flawed qualifier for these people. They would be more accurately be defined as "CO2-climate change deniers". They don't deny that the climate is changing, as that would be ridiculous to do. They simply state it to be a product of our highly volatile Sun. That would be cool and all if the Sun's output hasn't actually gone down. It is a nice argument to say the sun is more responsible for climate change than humans. You mean, that bazillion ton nuclear reactor has more of an effect than my mom's Toyota? Nobody is arguing the sun has a bigger determinant of climate change but it doesn't change the fact that we have an effect. Earth's temps are rising while solar output has been the same if not lower. " They haven’t found it there. Why do they rule out the Sun as the major cause of climate change over the past seven or so decades?
Because the energy Earth receives from the Sun hasn’t changed much at all over the past few decades. In fact, since about 1960 this energy has been on a slight downward trend, while Earth keeps getting warmer." www.yaleclimateconnections.org/2015/10/earths-warming-how-scientists-know-its-not-the-sun/

Yeah our back yard has been destoyed by little feet. I had a beautiful lawn back there...but no more. The only thing that deals with the kid's abuse (beside their mom) is the violet clover. But pretty much no plant can deal with kids.
Next time I'm at the beach I'll try to remember to snap a picture of everything that sails overhead. You can tell the difference between pollution clouds and normal ones pretty easily. Been like that my whole life.

My main point is that there is nothing man can do to stop the ice caps from melting and to stop the onslaught of the next ice age.
It's kind of like sending the clowns from Greenpeace out to shoot peashooters at oncoming Glacier shelves that fall into the ocean. Probably funny to watch but absolutely pointless.
Instead of Jibber jabbering about less pollution and lowering your carbon footprint Maybe we should be taking the approach of trying to replace all of the plant life that we have annihilated on this planet. I seem to recall the deforestation of the rainforests to be a pet cause of the left back in the 90s. You know what loves to eat the fuck out of carbon? Plants.
You know where most of the oxygen on the planet comes from? Plants. But not the ones on land. Oceanic plant life generates the majority of our oxygen. And all of that carbon that flies over my head and then falls into the ocean feeds what?
Oh yeah. The plants that make the oxygen.
More people should invest in mountains. Someday they'll either be beachfront property or even better, Islands.
And there's not a damn thing anyone can do to stop that from happening. There's also very little that anyone can do to even slow it down.

I think if it wasn't so politicised and people got behind changing it via the free market, we could curb it or stop it. However, dumbasses like Al Gore have used stupid alarmists tactics that have turned people off. Didn't help when he made millions of it which makes people think the entire thing is a giant fraud. Even Bill Nye has been guilty of this but then again, Bill has gone total SJWam and is a toolbag now. We have companies that kill CO2 out of the atmosphere and build shit out of it. Tunderf00t showed it really won't have any good effect (like solar roadways) but it is a start. If more people were into the change, we could actually make progress without the gubment.

This. This entire facility is covered in clover and I haven't seen one honey bee...its a series issue. And goes right back to what I've been saying since I joined. There is fuck-all we can do to slow down in a noticeable way the way we are headed in terms of climate. HOWEVER We are ruining our food supplies and water. That isn't volcano and solar activity, that is us. We have this arrogant nature that thinks we are always gonna improve but we are on our ways to an ant, cricket, and soylent green future, washed down with rations of purified urine. The only silver lining to that is there are some Brazilian ants that taste like lemongrass.

thelibertarianrepublic.com/poll-26-europeans-think-ice-caps-already-melted/Almost one-third of Europeans falsely believe that the polar icecaps have already melted, according to a poll published Tuesday. The poll found that 26 percent of Europeans believe the Arctic Ocean is already ice free in the summer, and 30 percent believe global warming has already warmed up Earth’s oceans by 2 degrees Celsius. Neither of these things has actually happened, and climate scientists project that the earliest these events could take place is the year 2100.

So you're saying we wont see a temperature increase until 2100? Excellent, that means we still have time to give Merkel all of our money! Catastrophe averted!

Turkey has officially backed out of the paris accord, citing the US withdrawing as their reason. thinkprogress.org/turkey-follows-trump-paris-climate-accord-39fb0d573164Turkey was one of the "developing" nations that would be receiving financial compensation for signing on to the agreement while the US would become the main financial contributor after signing up. Also, it's interesting that a country like Germany, who lacks fossil fuel supplies, would financially benefit from this deal while countries like the US and Russia, who both have large fossil fuel supplies, would be industrially handcuffed... all while the US financially foots the bill for the "developing" nations to build infrastructure.. Maybe our money could be better spent...here? ...on us???

For real, I actually love the thought of global climate change. I hope the ice caps melt in the next 30 years. I want palm trees on the great lakes. I love the thought of the North East U.S. becoming sub tropical. Watching the east coast flood slowly on CNN/ fox while I buy properties 200 miles inland would be fantastic....lol.

Cute that you think they are going to take the time to actually pay you for it when they are scrambling to survive.

Everyone has healthcare! ...until the government decides its time for you to die. Are you seriously trying to use a case of some extremely rare, incurable condition and apply it to an argument we had months ago about normal people's much more common and easily treatable pre-existing condiotions being covered? Charlie Gard is a baby who seems to have zero chance of living a day of his life without being in a hospital, on life support How is this even remotely relatable to grown men and woman, who have lived good lives, known and supported loved ones, and can continue to do so, if not for being denied basic health care that could keep them from deteriorating and dying a slow, painful, avoidable death?

At some point, experts (the doctors) should be allowed to refuse to give futile care. They finally made that decision and had to go to the government to get a ruling. Similar things have happened in America too, quite a few times and the government finally has to weigh in. www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/01/26/hospital-end-life-support/4913913/
