Didn't we had a comedy thread at Weekly? Or maybe we just discussed it on the TV or movies thread
But anyway, I just watched the new Jerrod Carmichael special on HBO. Pretty funny. He has such a weird style. I can't even describe it. Some sort of dry humor, but his delivery is so weird; slow with long pauses, totally different from these other comics moving all over the stage. He mostly just stands there.
I think people will either hate or love this show. If you can get past his slow delivery and a bit of black guy, liberal jokes, you will like it.

I saw the new Jim Norton special on netflix. Been a fan of his for awhile, loved him on Opie and Anthony. This special is killer if you are really into dirty perverse comedy. I'd highly recommend it.
Anyone see the new Amy Schumer special? Yeah me niether.

I saw the 1st few mins of the Burr's latest special. His podcasts were much more enjoyable. His new one was OK, but I like his older stuff better. Ali Wong Baby Cobra was pretty hilarious. Watched Jim Norton's Netflix special after seeing him on JRE and thought it was good. I also enjoyed Neal Brennan's 3 Mics. Really liked the stuff about his dad. That was deep.

Anyone see the new Amy Schumer special? Yeah me niether. Apparently her fight with the Alt Right caused her poor reviews? Which is tough, because her bad comedy also deserves the one star ratings. But, most specials get about 120 reviews, curiously, hers did get 11x that amount in less than 4 days. Oh, and there is a subreddit specifically dedicated to the topic of tanking her special. So, who knows. www.google.com/amp/www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2017/03/17/amy-schumer-alt-right-internet-trolls-behind-netflix-specials-bad-reviews.amp.html

Its an online podcast which is basically a lot of ripping on people as well as other stuff, a lot of offensive humor but also rather intelligent. Its a pretty good show, I would recommend it. They played like the first 15 minutes of her special on there, it was terrible. The guy who does the podcast is named Mike David, he used to own the Redbar comedy club in Chicago. He had some valid points about why her special is shit, as well as calling her a fat fuck joke thieving hack pig.

I need to watch Norton's latest, he's always been great if you like that kinda stuff. Finally got around to watching Jimmy Carr's latest, he really does have great one liners.

Thought Wong's material on her pregnancy and Asian life is more relatable than Schumer. Schumer is political too, which is annoying. She's just one of those angry big girls. Can't stand heffers.

Hadn't seen that but it's surprising. She's an un-funny tool bag and there is a fuck ton of evidence, long patterns, of her stealing jokes and she's an admitted kleptomaniac who apparently steals for thrills compulsively.

Shame of Joe for defending her. He has two different videos of defending her.
Watched a couple of Tosh's standup. They were good.
Side note. I knew Jim Norton as a kid. He wasn't a good friend or anything like that. He was a neighbor to my friend and my friend was friends with Jim. We hung out as his house a few times. I wouldn't say he was funny as a kid, but he was on the strange side LOL.

When you go off on online rants against other people's political beliefs you have to anticipate backlash. I don't think she expected this much. I actually thought she was pretty funny at the Apollo but she gets tiresome when you see her formula.

Both Chappelle's new specials and Louis CK's 2017 special, on Netflix are all excellent
Favorite part of Louis'.....
"Hey, what year is it?
"It's the year three"
"....yeah but I'm twenty eight"

Brand name standup comics promoted by media are just leftist agitators with good communication skills. Find me one who isn't a complete libtard besides Adam Carolla, who would have been smothered in his crib before loveline if they would have known he would turn out conservative (also appearing Jewish aided his career).
Fuck all those guys. If you don't know, personally, people who are funnier and more entertaining than Louis CK, it's because they just don't let their guard down around you.

Bill Cosby is no conservative, never has been. All he ever did was say a few things conservatives liked. The rest of those muckity mucks arent force-fed the public like Louis Ck, John Stewart, and the rest of the fuksticks. But yes, point taken. I stand pwnd

On top of Cup's list (though disagree with Larry, he's boring I find) Colin Quinn, Jim Norton, Jon Lovitz, David Spade. Speaking of, much of the golden crew of the 90s SNL was actually conservative.

Oh, a comedian thread? Allow me to insert a joke, then:
SQUIRRELS AND HOW DIFFERENT CHURCHES DEAL WITH THEM:
There were four churches and a synagogue in a small town: a Presbyterian church, a Baptist church, a Methodist church, a Catholic church, and the synagogue. Each one had a problem with squirrels.
The Presbyterian church called a meeting to decide what to do about their squirrels. After much prayer and consideration, they concluded the squirrels were predestined to be there and they shouldn't interfere with God's divine will.
At the Baptist church the squirrels had taken an interest in the baptistery. The deacons met and decided to put a water slide on the baptistery and let the squirrels drown themselves. The squirrels liked the slide and, unfortunately, knew instinctively how to swim so twice as many squirrels showed up the following week.
The Methodist church decided that they were not in a position to harm any of God's creatures. So, they humanely trapped their squirrels and set them free near the Baptist Church. Two weeks later the squirrels were back when the Baptists took down the water slide.
But the Catholic Church came up with a very creative strategy. They baptized all the squirrels and consecrated them as members of the church. Now they only see them on Christmas and Easter.
Not much was heard from the Jewish synagogue; they took the first squirrel and circumcised him. They haven't seen a squirrel since.
