That was great. Got me more pumped that i've ever been for any show or movie in my life. Fewer episodes this season but it looks like every episode is going to be as good as previous 8th and 9th episodes....typically the best ones in the season.

When last season ended, I thought episode 9 and 10 were the best two episodes of television I had ever seen With what's been built up and what I've seen so far in the trailers, and how I think this season could go down, Those last two episodes from last season could end up being topped 3 or 4 times this summer

We might even get an epic battle in most episodes.

We might even get an epic battle in most episodes. We're for sure getting at least four, in only seven episodes. You got the unsullied busting in on what looks like Casterly Rock. There's what looks like a sea battle between both factions of the Greyjoys, with Elaria and the Sandsnakes present. In fact they're probably who dropped the Unsullied off at Casterly Rock. You have the Lannister Army versus the Dothraki with some literal fire support from the Dragons. And you have that big fight up north against the White Walkers and Wights with Jon, Tormund, Beric, Thoros and the Hound......and others who I read possible spoilers about that I don't want to give away. But it's damned interesting, I'll say that.

The final 2 seasons are having extended episodes. The upcoming season has 1 normal length, three with extra 9 minutes, one with 13, one with 21 and one with 31 minutes extra.
However the final season they are aiming to have all 6 episodes at 80+ minutes long.

Has anyone read the season 7 spoilers? I've been watching pics coming out and the trailers... so far, the spoilers actually seem to be correct. And if they are - holy shit. We are in for a helluva season.

However the final season they are aiming to have all 6 episodes at 80+ minutes long. I read this somewhere as well. Not that I mind 80 minute shows, but I wonder why. I mean, why not just have 10 episodes that are an hour long. D&D said that they felt they only had about 13 hours of show left and THAT was why they were cutting back the number of episodes in seasons 7 and 8. If they were wrong, wouldn't it be more logical to just make the regular length seasons? The only thing I can figure is that they NEED 80 minutes for episode continuity. By which I mean - the episodes are so loaded that there wouldn't be a "good" spot to end an episode. In which case, season 8 just became a wet dream for all the fans lol. Especially when you consider that the characters are in one spot, thanks to season 7. There's no jumping all over "Planetos" for different story lines, they've all converged. Gah, I can't even wait. :$

A trailer breakdown started shooting spoilers at me with no warning. The guy on the video was way too smug about it as well. As if these spoilers were well known facts or some shit. I couldnt find my remote fast enough, had to hear some stuff I didn't really want to hear.

Stannis.
The rest I feel have some kind of reason to their ways.
Even Roose Bolton seemed like he was rather fair for being such a cold hearted fucker.
Now that I think about it, Kraster. Stannis comes in 2nd.

Just rewatched the last season over a few days. I don't think there has ever been a better show on television.
This show is ideal for binge watching because of all the threads it follows.
To the point that I might wait until the season wraps before watching so I can binge it.

Also- Stannis.
Burned that wonderful little girl over stupid bullshit God crap. Easily the worst.
Tywin's self importance made it so he protected Tyrion because he was a Lannister. Others would have offed him. Ironic considering Tywin's final shit.
The rest had some logic behind their madness.
Stannis was just a dumbfounded dipshit who should have stayed home.

Not to get all book weird, but Stannis didn't do this in the book. It may still happen in the book but it is very unlikely that it ever will happen in the book both because of his actual character and because it would be logistically radically improbable. This is the prime example of why I really can't/don't watch the show. There are all kinds of little things, but this one is big. Maybe I'll have to eat my words if this ends up happening in the book, but I'd highly doubt it. If she is sacrificed, it is most likely her mother or Melisandre that does it. Few reasons to get into book vs show debates, but the show really shits the bed on this one. Its literally completely against 5000 pages of Stannis's build up. He's not a true believer and he plays by the book. OK to off Renly bc he was a usurper, and by rights Stannis was the true heir. His whole operation is based on that. Shireen is his the heir to the Iron Throne now, by rights. Not sure if it happens in the book but when Stannis' army is stuck in the snow outside Winterfell, the true believers are trying to get him to burn additional prisoners and he just tells them to 'pray harder.' Great line by the way. End rant. Resume show discussion.

Consider it a going away present . . . . . . . .Actually......consider it a get the fuck out present. Haha

Ad a person who read the books before a TV show was even a thought- what I remember is that she still got burned and Stannis still did fuck all to stop it.
I don't think any of those other guys killed any of their children or were even complicit with such stuff.
But it's just my opinion.

Kraster fucking his daughters and giving the boys to the white walkers...
Shireen was a cute kid and all but I think Kraster takes the cake here.

We're talking about two episodes that are legit feature films both in production value and run time.

Pretty strong argument. Decades of serial incest with maybe triple digit infanticide is pretty hard to top without taking into account non fatherly actions.

They are mediocre at best, the first 3 of course are amazing.

I feel the books and the show are 2 different things entirely. Both could use their own threads imo.
I'm about halfway through the 3rd book myself.
