Or they did get something and are now holding those things over their heads as a means to get favorable decisions that benefit Russia, from the now Republican controlled branches of government I mean is that so hard to believe? I know it's what I would do, if I were Russia. Use what you have to hurt the side that's on the way out and control the one that's ending up on top That would be a dumb move if that was their plan. There is no way they could have predicted a less than 1% margin of victory in 3 swing states, so why have all of your eggs in one basket (especially the one that had to pull off a big upset)? Why not hack both, collect the information, then blackmail the winner? You are guaranteed to come out on the winning side that way. Who's to say they didn't have more on the Dems? Do you really think that was it?

1) They hacked the RNC but didn't find anything corrupt so they had nothing to leak. Or they did get something and are now holding those things over their heads as a means to get favorable decisions that benefit Russia, from the now Republican controlled branches of government I mean is that so hard to believe? I know it's what I would do, if I were Russia. Use what you have to hurt the side that's on the way out and control the one that's ending up on top Holding over Trump's head? Impossible. That would mean somehow Asange missed this smoking gun, the democrats who spent hundreds of millions to slander and investigate Trump missed the smoking gun, the media that already made up more lies about Trump than any person in history don't have any of this info and the russian group somehow knew that every odds maker and media pundit was wrong and Trump was going to win. And even then, we are talking about Trump. The guy responds to every single smear attempt against him going all the way to back to shit they dig up about his father's business practices in the 1970s. They could claim he is a serial killer and the dude would react on twitter for his 50 million followers to instantly see. Call him out and he responds back immediately. He is the one guy it's impossible to hold hostage. No other politicians carry the power to single handily do anything so it's irrelevant who has what on who. I'm sure all these long term politicians have a ton of dirt on each other but it's not relevant to the outcome of the election. No, this is clearly a case of severe and prolonged butt-hurt that every liberal can't get over. And, this on-going inability to accept defeat and move on is exactly why Trump won in the first place.

That's certainly where a lot of the desire to push this narrative seems to be come from. Soar loserism. And while I'm not saying it definitely decided the election, I am leaving the possibility open that they did want Trump and the republicans in power and that they may have stuff on them too. It would be silly to dismiss those nefarious possibilities, outright. And I would say that most people who want to do so are also coming at it from a slanted point of view Picking sides has a way of tilting how you want to interpret things and how you want others to perceive them

Trump is no different in that regard because all this russia talk will allow him, and his cabinet, and the house and senate, to play up more possibilities of military advancement and protecting national security. I think it equally benefits them all so every politician is now talking about it. I'm not dismissing it, but I am careful about believing anything without even a shred of proof.

Agree with cup: sore loserism appears to be the driving force behind most of what's going on today, but would not rule anything out. Do find it unlikely that a multi-billion dollar campaign would have missed major blackmail/scandal opportunities on their opponent, particularly with the full weight of the government and media at their side. Hell, 1/2 the republicans were trying to fuck Trump over. Romney did a goddamned press conference about how the guy was a phony and we shouldn't support him. The whole planet, foreign governments, everyone was out to stop him . . . but they ALL missed some major scandal? Oh, a russian hooker once peed on him? Nice job you fucking nit-wit. What other hard hitting news do you get from 4chan? But in the end, they were all rumors and vaguery and bullshit and the NON politician who promised to drain the swamp tapped into something and won.

And given their history, Hillary wasn't it

So I got a good explanation on how 17 various intelligence agencies report Russia is behind the hack. The maleware used has a very specific code, so specific that the intelligence community can track it. Various other countries have experienced similar hacks with the same code and ALL of it traces back to Russia. It has NEVER been used elsewhere that the intelligence community is aware of and no other countries were implicated when tracing back the code. Basically it all goes back to Russia and no other countries have been involved.
That was basically the Reader's Digest version I got from a buddy of mine that was listening to an IT guy in the field explain it on an interview. It is a pretty safe bet that Russia was behind it and now even Trump accepts the intel.

The DNC was not hacked, the information was leaked from an insider, that was all but confirmed. The DNC (was well as RNC, and various government servers) were probed for weaknesses. The malware that allowed it did trace back to malware commonly employed by the Russians, but guess what, China, North Korea, Argentinians, American, Brazilians, have all be shown to have used it. Remember the DNS outage back in October? Russian-originated software, but was shown to have been from China. It's like saying everyone who was killed by an AK-47 was killed by a Russian, when in fact many are owned by non-Russians and used in places not Russia.

I know what you are talking about, it was traced back to Russian developed code. I agree. However the same code was shown to be used before other states/individuals that wasn't Russia. Also, the DNC LEAK was not traced to that. The server probing was.

The "hacked" info are the leaked emails. That's what we are talking about. By saying 'it was the Russians' who did it means the Russians supplied it to Wikileaks. Russia may be hacking all kinds of stuff and so may anonymous and the chinese, but the issue we are talking about related to the election is WHO hacked those emails and who released them. We know who released them - Wikileaks. They get the credit and they did it - that's indisputable. I have no idea why anyone cares about the source at this point as Wikileaks has been sharing all kinds of info for years. Only now, because it may have impacted Hillary's chance to become POTUS, does the world care? And now we are turning this into how truthful the actual, proven guy who released them to the world, Julian Asange, is being on his source? He said MULTIPLE sources had access to the info so I chose to believe the guy who actually knows. The intelligence communities are not saying anything - we are getting second hand accounting without evidence. It could be Russia, it could be 5 different groups, Guccifer could be russian, Asange could be lying - who honestly cares?

What Republicans should do is say, "yeah, our shit gor hacked too bit there wasn't anything juicy bUT this is definitely a big issue that we need to handle" rather than what they are currently doing which is denying what 17 different intelligence agencies are saying. Seriously, RNC and DNC both got hacked, it just so happened the DNC had a bunch of incriminating shit that may or may not have swayed the election. Republicans shouldn't treat this like a partisan attempt to shit on Trump, they should be deeply concerned about the attacks.

it's just completely unrealistic to think anything in politics can be non-partisan. just because the right delights in the fact that hillary and the DNC's shit got exposed, doesn't mean it isn't concerned about our nation's cyber security. the problem, as the right sees it, is that the left wasn't previously concerned with it until it negatively impacted them and the problem, as the left sees it, is that the right isn't currently concerned about it because it didn't effect them. as usual, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

We have people on this board, and people I know railing against government overreach and corruption but also want to cry foul when hackers break in and pull back the curtain? Can't have it both ways and at the end of the day, we are ALL better off when BS gets exposed. We are better off knowing how deep that Hillary conspiracy ran, how involved the media is/was, how quickly and brazen they were about destroying evidence related to benghazi and covering up Hillary's emails. We all win knowing that level of corruption exists well beyond a political race. Whistleblowers have never been in a worse position than today and the Obama administration crucified people who came forward all over the government. If it takes Russians to tell us how fucked up our politicians are than I thank them, I thank all the hackers and I thank Wikileaks. People don't trust news the same way now and will question BS - we all win because of that, IMO. I also think all of this exposure could help whistleblowers, or at least I am hoping it will. The US public has no clue how frequently russians and others steal our shit. They commit massive fraud via identity theft by hacking into public wifi and capturing every key stroke people do. They can steal 1000 identities in a day at a major hotel by simply hacking the wifi and taking every key stroke from every user. We are investigating these russian cases where they create legit businesses like a few pizza parlors JUST to store credit card data. They will run the business for a year and then leave it with all the equipment and just walk away. They will steal millions from the credit card fraud even when the banks are on top of it instantaneously. It's fascinating shit how bad ass the russians are at fraud. That's the shit people need to be worried about but no one is telling you that. Don't ever use public wifi if you can avoid it. And don't ever, ever swipe and use a debit card anywhere. Always use your credit cards to pay for gas, groceries, etc.

Prudent to take under strong consideration, sure.
Prudent to accept? I'm out on that one. I accepted Iraq's WMDs by 17 different agencies, too. Along with a lot of other shit I've been burned on. Why the fuck do we have 17 fucking agencies, anyway? And if it's rock solid, then show me some evidence. "We don't want to reveal our methods and . . . " STFU, then. You got dick. And every country we're pissed at for potentially hacking us we are actively and aggressively spying on and tampering with as we speak, so get off the high horse while you're at it.

I will stick to the verbiage everyone but you is using Jackel.... The distinction is extremely important though. Since all they've shown is Russians (and Chinese) probing servers, we have yet to see evidence of anyone actually being hacked (outside the DNS shutdown in October but that was just a DDoS attack). Making a big deal over Russian's probing various servers is stupid because it happens on a regular basis by state agencies (we do it to them and others), by individuals (hell even 12 year old script kiddies do it). It shouldn't be a story because it is nothing out of the ordinary, nor malicious (yet). Now if they turned around and showed that the leak wasn't a staffer but rather the result of a hack (which would have been easy to have shown), then yeah something is rotten in Denmark. However they've yet to show what would be very simple straightforward evidence of a hack.

The FBI is not making anything up, it is just bad reporting by the media mixing up two different cyber-related incidents. Sorta like how CNN was reporting on dirty information Russia had on Trump being in the intelligence briefing, but failing to point out it was a 4chan FanFic from months ago. The media does this all the time with anything science or computer related. So does Congress as we have seen time and time again.

So what's with this thing about Trump getting a golden shower from a Russian hooker? Huff post is huffing and puffing away about that story.
And is it bad that I feel I need to see said hooker if I'm going to judge the guy?

And is it bad that I feel I need to see said hooker if I'm going to judge the guy? A guy from 4chan wrote a fanfic in November about Trump and Golden Showers in Russia. He sent it to someone recently as "information", and it made it into the Presidential security briefing as "legit" info. So instead of reporting on how the government didn't even bother doing basic fact checking on their intelligence, CNN reported that the security briefing was discussing compromising information Russia had on Trump.

Really Jackel? Go ahead and post a link to that November fanfic showing: (1) it was about trump and golden showers; and (2) proving it was written back in november. Because I'm betting, knowing nothing about 4chan and based on nothing more than the fact that you're the source for this, that it doesn't exist and you're once again stating as indisputable fact something that you read on a fuccin blog somewhere.
Prove me wrong, Jackel. Prove me wrong.

Regardless of Jackels claim about 4chan, based on what James Clapper said last night this whole story about Russia having info on Trump appears to be completely fabricated. If true, it is sad and pathetic that the media runs with stories like this, and even more pathetic that people are willing to believe what they hear from said media. Not sure which party is more stupid in the exchange.

You think when Donald has the hooker pee on him, he wears the same goggles he does when he gets the orange spray tan?

So... nothing. There's literally nothing in that "news" article showing a November post on 4chan having anything to do with golden showers. Nothing at all. Shocker - I was right. You stated something as indisputable fact that has nothing backing it up other than some anonymous dude on the internet making a claim he can't prove. How unlike you. Get a job.
