I wasn't fully bought in on the William is a younger Man in Black theory.....until this week. Once The Man in Black sees the blonde who was the host on the train that helps William select his outfit, weapon and hat and he says, "YOU again." I mean, it was over. Theory confirmed
And another theory that got quickly debunked was that Ford was making a Theresa synth to replace her. But right away this week we saw that wasn't the case. Seems like he wanted her death to be known to make a sort of "you know I did it, you know that I know that you know I did it, but you can't say it or prove it, so get fucked" point to the girl from the board of directors
Also, I think Thandie Newton (Maive) may be holding an Emmy in her hand, next fall. Such a nuanced performance. Between her scenes in the lab, her scenes in the town and her scenes with her daughter, she has to do so many different things. Such an awesome job she's doing
Damn, only two weeks left

We just started it tonight, but I was wondering if they are going to show the other sections of the park (Rome and Medieval) this season or are they holding them for future seasons?

Internet rumor is that, because of the length of this contract, some of the other parks will have to be explored.

So would the William = Young MIB theory die if those two characters interacted (same timeline)? The impression I get is that they're in the same timeline now, but I def see what you're saying about the Hostess (you again).

Episode 9 was the mindfuckiest episode yet. And never have I been so happy to be so confused. I think I get a lot of what's going on, but there's this constant undertone of "maybe I don't" that is always there and makes things very engaging
This series isn't even one season old, yet it already created a world and characters so rich that certain interactions are so exciting. Like BernArnold and KillMaive(Jessica Jones reference......think about it). The Logan/Billy stuff was great. I also loved the short little interaction between the man in black and Charlotte, or ia it Scarlette?.... The CEO chick. And of course every scene we get with Ford and BernArnold is awesome. Hopefully tonight wasn't the last of that
This story folds over itself in ways like very few things I've seen. How it all plays out in the season finale is anyones guess. Luckilly they're giving that 90 minutes to breathe and expound. Can't friggin wait to see it

Well...what a ride this show is taking us on. Bernard being Arnolds "replacement" was an excellent twist. I can see why all the fuss over the actor that plays Bernard, the guy is absolutely fantastic at his role. And Hopkins seemingly going along with Bernards belief that Clementine would shoot him only to let Bernard decide his own fate....brilliant.
The only part I have a hard time with is Dolores. I don't understand how she was cut open, then repaired(?) and sent on her way? Sometimes her delusions are a bit trippy as well, probably my lease favorite part of the show. But..perhaps it will open up into something else.
Anyone else find Clementine to be pretty hot? I was kind of bummed when they replaced her with that blonde.
Next week is going to be bananas yo. It will be bittersweet as this is the only show I really am watching on a weekly basis right now.
And are they really going to show other parts of the park? I have a feeling they are not going to, but if they did...man. We are in for a wild one.

I thought I understood everything going on... Until yesterday. Now I feel I need to rewatch the whole season LOL. Great episode as usual.
Clementine is hot Vale
Charlotte the CEO.. Isn't he a " host "? Is she playing the man in black (can't think of his name) like she did Barnard's girlfiend? The man in black is on the board?

I get the feeling that they're splicing timelines together. Did you notice when Delores found her way to the old church that she underwent three wardrobe changes from cowgirl to blue dress and back again? They keep referencing "we've had this conversation before" and "this isn't the first time we've been here" and "you again" type lines. I think the show is kind of seamlessly flipping between Host reboots, some very old, as they relive their days over and over again, time kind of loops back on itself, and only the guests would age, which makes me thing the Man in Black is actually another character that we already know, but just in another timeline. I'm definitely hooked and enjoying how densely packed and subtly written this thing is.

Specifically with Delores I feel I finally got what was going on with her. - When she's in the church without the stomach wound that's now. That's current. She's there alone - When she has the stomach wound, that's 30 years ago, with Billy (Younger Man in Black) - When she's wearing the dress, that's 31 to 35 years ago, shortly after Arnold (Original human Bernard) died, because supposedly she killed him. Possibly at his behest Oh and also, I think Ford is actually Cybergod. Which is the real reason he had the brotha, Bernard, shoot himself. Can only trust his kind for so long, ya know?

This show is awesome and hard as fuck to figure out what's going on. Jonathan Nolan (creator) is Christopher Nolan's brother so it's not surprising we have a million twists and turns. They like to try and have us solve the multiple timelines going on - these two must like puzzles.

They like to try and have us solve the multiple timelines going on - these two must like puzzles. I was watching a fan theory deal on YouTube and it's actually far, far more elaborate than I'd ever imagined. There are hidden Easter eggs all over the place, paintings in the background, quotes from specific Shakespeare plays and Disney films, masks from video games, etc that all have specific symbolic meanings. There are also subtle hints in wardrobe, dialogue, and settings that supposedly link particular characters or indicate which timeline we're in. This is literally one of those shows you need to watch every episode twice and keep a keen eye/ear out for hints.

Yea, I read an article somewhere that claimed the West World logo is actually different in Williams timeline and MIB's timeline. The article also pointed out that William and MIB are wearing the same shirt and both carry the same knife.

I can't sleep. Monday is a day off for me, so I always sleep in a little longer than usual, but I've been thinking about this episode since it ended last night and can finally put some thoughts out on it. I sometimes get annoyed when people say things like, "I need to process this." But that really is how the mind works a lot of the time, isn't it? While I lay in bed both awake and asleep, there may as well have been a loading bar above my head that said "installing update" This was a brilliant season finale. There was the predictable William/Man in Black reveal, but we didn't know how well they would execute it. And to Dolores, the reveal was shocking and horrifying. To realize that she had been in such a haze, believing her beloved William would return to her some day was so sad. Especially considering what he had become and that he had been there the whole time. Yet as sad as that was seeing Dolores repeat her damsel to terminator turn on William (we can just call him that now) and beat him down was pretty fun. Even if he eventually did get the better of her, or at least we were lead to believe We also got quite a bit of Maive and her escape. Which we, again, knew was coming, but didn't know how it would possibly play out. Would she organize a mass exodus? Would she take a dozen? A half dozen? Nope. It was just her. She had help from Sylvester and Felix, as well as her two murderous escorts, who delighted in the discovery of automatic weapons, but in the end the plan was just for her to get on that train and leave the park for the real world......And she did it. But that damn daughter memory couldn't let her go through with it. Which is good because hey, if she leaves, she's off the show. She's too good a character and too integral to the story for that to be allowed to happen. And because of the events of the end of the episode, I think she will be needed next season Speaking of that ending......holy balls. This is what I needed to process. What will next season be like, after seeing Ford's final storyline play out in the form of a Host on Guest murder spree, which included himself? I think I know where we're going from here. Next season will essentially be a version of what the old movie was. The guests will be trapped in the park by formerly subservient hosts who've gone haywire (though by design in this version) and will have to fight for their lives and try to mount an escape. Next season will probably start by introducing us to some people that arrived in the park either the day of, or a day or two before Ford's big reveal and they will realize in short order that something has gone terribly wrong and the synths are killing people. I think Dolores will run the park as a brutal overlord and most of the hosts will do her bidding against the guests, as well as any hosts who try to help what guests, park employees and board members are still alive (please let Ed Harris survive this finale somehow). I think hosts like Teddy and maybe even Bernard, will be the good guys, so to speak, and will fight to help the humans trapped within the parks immense borders survive and eventually escape. Maive will be the real wildcard,as she still has the ability to bend other hosts to her will. So which side she ultimately ends up on will be key I could be wrong. Things could somehow be contained, some public and media relations work could be achieved by surviving board members and next season could be business as usual again, like this season. But I really don't see how. I feel like those days are gone forever. What remains is an epic conflict between the synthetics who now rule the roost and the humans who used to, as well as some who were just off on a unique, cool, albeit expensive, vacation, and the synthetics who are inclined to help them. Whatever way they go, I'm in. Given how awesome this season was, I trust them to to keep that up, regardless of what direction the show takes. Even if it's fricken Samurai World....nah, let's keep it in Westworld. It is the name of the show after all. And what a show it is

Anybody think Ford was making a clone of himself in that room where Bernard killed Theresa?
And Delores killed the host version?

Anybody think Ford was making a clone of himself in that room where Bernard killed Theresa? And Delores killed the host version? That thought has crossed my mind. Also, maybe Ford has been a host for a long time; the original Ford made a host in his likeness who then killed him and has been plotting this whole thing all along.
