Just watched the second episode of Westworld (put up early on HBO Go) and yeah man....this show is spectacular So much going on. So many different elements blending together. So much mystery. I love the way they're building this story and this world. And I love the characters inhabiting that world. The actors playing them are all doing such excellent work Especially Ed Harris, Anthony Hopkins and Jeffrey Wright. Three top notch actors given rolls that are fricken perfect for them. Even though I've seen them play some very different rolls. All of them are really versatile, but there's a certain type of character they all fit perfectly in to, and this show has them all in those spots, and they're killing it The way this episode ended....something Anthony Hopkins character wants to introduce in to the narrative, it had me say out loud "oh....NO!!!" And then laugh. Not in a "that was funny" sort of way, but in a, "this is not going to end well" kind of way Great show Saw episode 1 & 2 last night. This show might deserve its own thread later on. One of those things that as I was watching it, I was realizing I was watching something special. Hopkins acting in these two episodes alone will put him in contention during award season. That blank stare when he is pondering something....They loaded this thing with good actors.

I'm really enjoying Pitch and Designated Survivor. As a woman and a baseball fan, I was looking forward to Pitch, although slightly apprehensive about how it would be handled. So far, I've loved it. I didn't think I'd really be a fan of Designated Survivor, but I'm hooked.

Westworld. Oh fucking yes. On the 2nd episode now, this will have to really take a dive for me to lose intrest. I agree, a thread may be needed for this. I want to talk about some stuff but don't want to spoil for anyone.
The character ed Harris is playing...

3rd episode of Westworld continued to build the fascinating mystery of....just what the fuck is going on here? And where is it going?
I love having very little idea of it. And the ideas I do have, I have no intention of marrying myself to them, as with a show like this, there's no reason to expect I've figured things out, or even want to
And my god, that scene between Hopkins and Wright. Consistently the best parts of this show, which is saying something, considering how good the rest of it already is.

Haven't seen the 3rd episode yet, looking forward to it.
The interaction between Hopkins and the host originally playing Dolores father was infuckingtense.
The whole concept of the park is like a real life sandbox(?) video game. How amazing would it be to have something like this in real life? The adventures you can go on would be fucking awesome. I could see myself getting lost in that place if I could afford it lol.

The interaction between Hopkins and the host originally playing Dolores father was infuckingtense. Yes. incredible moment when he busted out the Shakespeare line from King Lear. Never heard an actor deliver it like that. It was used in a different context as in Lear, and it worked magically. Almost shit/shat myself when and how he said it. I will do such things,— What they are, yet I know not: but they shall be The terrors of the earth.

Walking dead was pretty crazy. I think a few predicted what happened in the old forum. That show is still going to have to make some serious moves for me to gain interst again.

However, the extreme juxtaposition of Rick and Negan is quite an interesting angle.
Both are similar in ways, but their strategies through out their post apocalyptic Odyssey's have been what separates them and what has eventually landed Rick on his knees with Negan standing behind him with a bat on his shoulder, dripping with the brains of Rick's comrades...
While Rick has been happy to vanquish all of his foes, literally taking no prisoners, slashing and burning his way through the apocalypse...Negan has been a crafty warlord, uniting the survivors of the camps he raids and building a rather impressive army in turn.

Glenn's beat down and death was awesome! Rest of the episode really sucked, though. Kinda boring. it was gross! Why isnt there its own thread on the walking dead? I called those two as the one that would die ( they were my top two picks) had no clue both of them would meet Lucial. Nice set up for the season i think... Maggie wants to murder everyone now... i wouldn't worry so much about Rick as i would her LOL

So the people behind Westworld got greenlit for a HBO show about the colonization of another planet. That should be interesting, especially if they get a good writing staff.

I've had access to a friend's Netflix account for a couple of years now. But I've always been a big torrents guy and have stuck with torrents just out of habit, even if that show or movie was already on Netflix.
I've been spending a lot of time of netflix the past month or so while recovering from my surgery. Some of my favorite recent shows have been netflix originals (Luke Cage, house of Cards, stranger things. Etc). So my impression of Netflix series was pretty good.
But then I stumbled onto the netflix originals category. God dam, they have put out some horrible shit. Perfect example is that Tropic heat, Archer ripoff bullshit. Plus a lot of other horrible comedy series and some sad attempts at dramas.for every house of Cards., it seems that they have produced 9 stinkers. 1 or two good ones out of every 10.
I own some Netflix stock. It has done well. But now I'm worried about them spending too much money on mediocre series with the occasional hit.

A lot of their "originals" are just foreign shows that they have the exclusive to show in American territories. Not actually original, but the law lets them phrase it that way. Instead of bit-torrents, if you want something quick and/or don't mind if it isn't in true HD, you can check out putlockers.chAnd don't worry about their stock. Regardless of quality, the people working with them, WANT to work with them. Actors are begging to work with them they prefer it over the big studios.

As far as the stock, I have around 210 shares. something. They have gone as hight as 129. There has been days where I made 7 grand and days where I have lost those same 7 grands. The reason i stuck with it is because every time it has gone down it hasn't been any fault of netflix. Just some weird market freak out like with Brexit or some shit ike that. But i eventually stopped watching it. It's a long term investment for me and at times it has been projected to go close to 200. So I'll stick with it unless there are some bad news from Netflix itself

If it spikes up, get out. Then re-buy in when it corrects itself. The biggest hurdle that Netflix has, which they haven't come close to even attempting to hurdle, is what to do to keep content flowing when they reach a sub number that is stagnant. Of the major streamers out there, Hulu is the only one is a somewhat safe position.

Watched the first 4-5 episodes of Bloodline on Netflix, this weekend At first, I kind of had a Mad Men-esk, "why do I care about these assholes?" reaction, but like Mad Men by episode 2 I was hooked, because it's just so well made and well acted. And with this, there is strong bit of mystery in the backstory that their cleverly alluding too, while holding back just enough Ben Mendelsohn is one of the most under the radar great actors there is right now

Finished first season of Luke Cage. Was kind of meh. Seemed to try to be smarter than it was. You are s superhero with impenetrable skin (kind of) and it is based off a comic book. The social commentary tried to get too deep at times, like cringeworthy forced. Plus Rosario Dawson's nurse character knows how to decrease intracranial pressure through an eyeball and tie off bleeding arteries with dental floss (even though she called it a vein)? Come on. Had some good parts though, I will probably watch season 2.
Still depressed Justified is over. I am really hoping they go forward with the Boyd Crowder spin-off. It was talked about but the actor said he wanted a break from it for a while but he would be doqn to doing it.
My buddy said I should start Sons of Anarchy next but I don't know if I want to get started with another series, I watch too much TV as it is. I also want to start Game of Thrones but have no way to watch it...
