Glad I didn't waste my time with last night.
Colby is a paper champ though. I still don't think he can match Woodley. I think Dana agrees. Woodley isn't cleared until next month and they make this interim? Obvious to me Dana likes Colby's method of self promotion. But I think Woodley overpowers him in every area.

I didn't watch the fight, but from the clips I've seen I don't think Colby can stand and bang with TW.
This definitely crushes the RDA 170 hype train though.
Most everything I read never gave Colby a chance, but I thought I saw he was the favorite last night? Is that true?

Dana White is all pissed off at Mike Jackson (the guy that beat Punk). He's pissed cause Jackson didn't finish Punk, or even try to finish him. Dana says he (Jackson) is 0-2 as far as he's (Dana) is concerned. Dana says he regrets putting that fight on the main card, says it should've been on fight pass.

I looked at the odds before the fight. I think he was the favorite. I didn't bet on any of the fights. I thought that fight was competitive, But if you listen to Joe, they made it seem like Colby was killing RDA in the first few rounds. Colby does have a great gas tank and he can take a shot. But I agree with you two that Woodley would win the fight.

I'm glad the cm punk bs is over with.
I thought Esparza got the wrong end of a decision. Also think Claudia could have done much better against her.
About time for Rashad to hang it up. Like Glover, he has just deteriorated over time.
I don't ever want to see Coulter or La Rocha fight again. Dude who fought Llamas goes on that list as well. He really had a mean fence push.
Meagan wasn't ready for Holly. I'd like to see Nunes vs Holly but I'm pretty sure that isn't happening.
Colby didn't look good off his back at all Him vs Woodley is going to be a shit show imo.
Thought Romero stole the fight. But I'm glad Whittaker won. Don't want to see another match, want to see Bobby vs Kelvin

Put anyone with only one fight under their belt and they won't look good.

My boy CM Punk didn't do too well last night I'm guessing? Fighting wise. No he didn't do very good. Hell, that Jackson guy was talking to his corner as he was doing GNP. Wasn't even looking at punk and he was landing. I don't think Dana liked that at all. But ... Punk never gave up, he kept trying. He showed a ton of heart and ate some big shots. While I don't think he should've been on the main card, I respect his effort.

Claudia did nothing when she was on top. She was just holding her down. Carla landed way more off her back then Claudia did on top. Rashad should retire. Some of the fights were very forgettable. I already have LOL Whittaker vs Romero was a great fight. I really thought it was going to be a draw. Overall the show just didn't keep my attention. I'm not saying it was a bad event, I just wasn't all that interested. During the fights I renewed my conceal carry license, I played some solitaire, watched some youtube. The fights were just in the background. Unlike years ago was all my attention was on the fights..

That main event is contender for Fight of the Year... Worth the PPV. Bobby is a warrior, to have beat God's soldier twice while injured... Me thinks God has a new favorite fighter, and his name is Bobby Knuckles
I was frustrated with RDA and his inability to circle away from the fence. I think Colby really hurt him with a few strikes. Colby imposed his will Andy role RDA.
Holly showed a very good and improved ground game. Completely outclassed the taller and bigger girl.
Tai/AA was a good fight... While Arlovski lost I thought he had done enough to win. Not a bad fight...
I had fun watching the Punk fight. A lot more fun than Kimbo/Dada 5000... That fight was embarrassing to the sport.
Most fights went the distance which is why I think people with the attention span of a peanut found it to be boring. As side from the Punk fight it was good high level MMA on display... At this point in your MMA viewng career, if you don't like this, it's time to stop watching. At this point you're the dolt who's paying for a product you don't like.
Bring on 226...

You know you bought it... And if you didn't and just bitching about a card you didn't buy and a company you dislike, those are characteristics of a woman... Or a bitch.

Loco is either an unsatisified customer, who, after this much time should stop paying because he clearly isn’t trying his money’s worth... or he belongs on the show Gossip Girl, because that’s what he does is spends his free time on the internet gossiping.

My work came home with me and I didn't even get to see it but at least I saved the money.
I checked the results on sherdog.
What were the best things I missed?
Was it a really good card or not so much?
So Colby is interim champ now?
Did he really beat up RDA bad, like was it really one sided?
What about Yoel/Whittaker?
Was that a one sided beatdown for Bobby or was it close?
And did the CM Punk fight suck? Was it mostly standing or on the ground?

The undercard from fight pass through the televised was outstanding - have to give it an A.
The main card first 3 fights were pretty weak. Punk got dominated, Arlovski had a decent fight but lost, Holly should never be on a main card so had to know that would be a snooze fest and Holly did her best Fitch impression to get a win. The UFC was hoping to showcase Megan's striking but Holly wrestlefucked her.
Colby vs RDA was a great fight and Colby's unrelenting pressure held up for 5 rounds. I thought they guy would gas but he didn't, AND he walked through RDA's power. If he has that gas tank, he is definitely going to present a challenge to Woodley or Usman. His wrestling may be better and his pressure can win him fights. Woodley against a pressure fighter that forces him into action will be different than what he has fought since Gastelum, a fight he might have lost. Woodley got to fight Wonderboy twice and Wonderboy is arguably the dumbest fighter in MMA. We need to see Woodley against some other people.
Whitaker vs Yoel was a GREAT fight with a lot of momentum swings and ended up very close. Round 3 was one of the best of the year and so were 4 and 5.

I haven’t bought a PPV in years. I was using the free link but it’s hit and miss. I haven’t watched the last several PPV cards.
Sorry, I’m just not interested in decision-fests.
Plus, I already know what’s going to happen on them.

Holly didn't show me much on the ground other than anyone is going to be able to take down Megan. She controlled her but it was kind of weak GnP for the advantageous positions Holly had and Holly has zero jui jitsu. I don't know - Holly is the epitome of a Jackson point fighter and it's hard to enjoy fighters unwilling to take ANY risk. it was total domination but she never really had a chance to finish. Agree on the other parts of the card. I don't think Tai is that good but he keeps winning. Let him fight Blades next.

Agree with oc. Holly looked good on the ground only because her opponent was pretty terrible on the ground. I don't think anyone should conclude from that fight that Holly has added a real ground game to her arsenal.

Might need his ass kicked by wonderboy first before getting the winner of Twood and Colby but i'm certain he is going to get that shot soon. Just ignore the part that says football, allthough i gotta imagine next up on punks bucket list is going to be trying to play on a real life NFL team so fuck it go get em Phil

Early predictions have the buyrate at less than 150 000.
That's pretty disappointing. I thought the talent on this card would have drew close to 500 000.
Punk obviously didn't help draw many buys.

Wow, 150 is a horrible number? right. Wow Punk made alot of money for being a 0-1 fighter at the time.. Alistair Overeem: $860,000 Robert Whittaker: $610,000 CM Punk: $503,500 Colby Covington: $380,000 Rafael dos Anjos: $380,000 Yoel Romero: $290,000 Andrei Arlovski: $270,000 Rashad Evans: $170,000 Charles Oliveira: $165,000 Curtis Blaydes: $105,000 Joseph Benavidez: $92,000 Clay Guida: $79,000 Sergio Pettis: $76,000 Holly Holm: $75,000 Ricardo Lamas: $68,000 Claudia Gadelha: $63,000 Anthony Smith: $52,000 Mirsad Bektic: $51,000 Carla Esparaza: $44,000 Tai Taivusa: $31,500 Mike Jackson: $23,500 Chris De La Rocha: $23,500 Dan Ige: $23,500 Megan Anderson: $13,500 Mike Santiago: $13,500 Rashad Coulter: $13,500

So the highest earning fighter (Overeem) wasn't even on the main card.
Pretty obvious that move is the UFC either wanting to get rid of Overeem and his contract or be in a stronger position to renegotiate.

Duh. I told you guys this card was horrible before it ever happened.
The UFC is hurting for some popular fighters.
They better get Diaz, Conor, GSP, Jones back in there ASAP.

He was scheduled to be on the main card then got bumped. Ibdonht think it's and issue with Overeem. Hunt gets paid a lot for losing too. I'm guessing coming over from pro kick boxing got them a nice bump. The article did say it's rather early but the prelims did not do good and those are very reliable. I am stunned it's that low. Even factoring their streaming site. I can't imagine that being another 150k. We'll never know those numbers.

225 got less than 150,000 buys.
Dana and co need to start doing a better job building the ppv's via their other tv deals.
I think part of their problem is that Bellator's match making is head and shoulders above the UFC'S from a quality of fight standpiont. 225's main was fantastic but the rest of the card was far from it.
Meanwhile Bellator's fights have been much more entertaining, especially in the last year or two.
UFC better get their act together because the current trend doesn't look sustainable for them. The Fritata bros sold at the perfect time.

Yeah, the Fritata's sold at a great time.
