There is no way you can argue it.. He is the best HW of all time.

All he has left is Cain. He's beaten all the rest.
Firefighter. Soon to be father. Seemingly humble guy.
We couldn't ask for a better champ imo. Great role model.
Major props to Stipe. He's the man. And now the GOAT.

And now the GOAT. He's humble like Matt Hughes was humble. But fuck his humility, he's a bona-fide badass. It's such an MMA world thing for Dana to beef with Stipe, and for him to have to almost turn heel to get over with fans.

I like how Stipe took the belt from Dana and had his coach put it on him.
Dana and the UFC both showed a ton of disrespect to Stipe in the promotion for this fight.
What's cool though, is instead of playing cry baby like Cryrone would have, Stipe is like, fuck it.. I'm just here to fight.

If he beats Cain, you are correct. He's got the most title defenses in HW history, which is surprisingly only 3, but yeah. Most slept on GOAT in history if he gets to fight (and beat) Cain.

I wonder if there’s any real merit to Cain coming back this year. And if so, is it smart to fight Stipe right out the gate?

Why is Cain even part of this conversation? Flash in the pan.

Why is Cain even part of this conversation? Flash in the pan. He is no doubt one of the most talented fighters ever at heavyweight, but you're right. He is without a doubt the most overrated heavyweight fighter ever. When it comes right down to it, he doesn't belong in the same conversation as Stipe as far as legacy.

I agree really. He never did anything that Stipe hasn’t done several times over now.
It’s pretty obvious Dana knows that there are no HW or LHW contenders when he’s talking about Stipe/Cormier.
The UFC needs some new talent.

What did Dana do to disrespect Stipe?
And I agree Cain is all he has left.
Ngannou has a lot of upside though if he can learn some ground game, but I don't know if he can ever beat Stipe.
Considering the guy has only been TRAINING for 5 years and made it this far to be able to go 5 rounds with a D-1 champ and Golden Gloves champ is impressive.

I think Cormier would have a good shot against Stipe though if he moved up.
Do they train together?
They don't right?
I'm not sure who would win that.
'I want to see Jones come back and get crushed by Stipe also.

Beating Cain will just reaffirm it, he is already GOAT HW. Werdum, Overeem, JDS, Hunt, Nelson and Arlovski when he was on his comeback tour. Dude is a monster and Cain not being able to fight but once every 5 years doesn't change it.

Dana said he'd support Cormier vs Stipe. Seems a no brainer and I don't see how Cormier can keep saving the spot for Cain when he never fights. Neither really has anyone left in their weight class. I'd like to see who would be champ at LHW without Cormier also. mymmanews.com/stipe-miocic-vs-daniel-cormier/

DC vs Stipe would be bonkers. With another decent co-main, I would buy it for 65 bucks. I haven't bought a PPV in years either. Tough one to call for me too. Hell, hard to figure out who I would cheer for because I really like both guys a lot. Stipe has grown on me, can't believe I slept on him for so long but I've been a DC fan forever.

Stipe has a great argument for GOAT. Would love to see Cormier and Stipe and that fight makes sense.
Bones would beat Stipe, IMO. I always held Bones is the guy who would prove to be the greatest HW but not sure that loser ever fights again. Cain? I don't think we see him fight anytime soon but at least he would be someone new for Stipe.

In shape healthy Cain with no ring rust whoops him.
But if that fight never happens than well...

Cain will never be the version he was 5 years ago. He'll be lucky if he ever gets another title shot, let alone consecutive wins without injury.

Shit. I don't know. I love Stipe. But every time I think about the HW GOAT picture, I cant help but wonder if its just a product of a rather thin division, like it had been in the past. (Tim, AA etc.).
IMO, its still Fedor.
Wins over roided Nog, Cro Cop, Barnett etc hold more weight for me than wins over Werdum, no chin having ass Overeem, and Ngannou.

Stipe's wins: Roy Nelson Gonzaga Dos Santos Mark Hunt Arlovski Werdum Overeem Ngannou I dont know who else you need him to beat... Frank Mir? Lesnar? C'mon man... that's a pretty impressive list of wins.

I just want to see him fight Cain to cement it in. Cain has ONE win in the last 4 years and he is 35 years old. That ship has sailed, brother.

I just want to see him fight Cain to cement it in. Would be great but it's been a LONG time since Cain returned from his KO to beat Dos Santos. That's was his crowning achievement and it seems like decades ago. Back when men had to take a piss in a men's restroom.

Are they really going to give Cain a title shot for his first fight back in two years? As lame as that is... who else is there, really?

Did you catch who the last MW title fight was between?
Pretty sure the guy who won that fight was out for longer and had never even had a prior fight in the weight class.
So would they give Cain a title shot right away? You already know they will.

Cain totally would get a title shot.
Not only can they racebait the shit out of the fighthype, they don't have another challenger that Stipe hasn't already faced.
Anyone else notice that when they showed the rankings (Hunt #5?), that Cain had the Mexican flag next to his name? In 2010, my Spanish was better than his lol.

They run the UFC like it's the WWE and Cain is the only guy left. If he's training like DC said, he'll probably win too.
