This is why Conor has so much leverage
Francis "could" have been the next star but not now.
No champions in the UFC that people care about
Might Mouse? Nope TJ? LOL Holloway? A little Woodley? Fuck No Robert Whittaker? Who? DC? Not Hardley Stipe. Ugh....no.

Good fight. Great game plan by Stipe. Only noob dumbshits would call that boring. Was it as good as the Bellator headliner? Answer me that

So when you say played it safe. I think safe = boring. Just like smart = boring LOL. Was it a boring fight? Parts of it were boring but parts were good. It could have been a much better fight yeah. Ngannou landed some decent shots in the first round but after that he gassed, and Stipe hurt him pretty bad a few times but even when he hurt him Ngannou would shake it off, then Stipe would take him down and ride him and land some smaller shots but once he realized he was going to be hard to finish he kind of stopped really trying to finish after around the middle of the 3rd and basically just held him and landed small shots. Stipe did dominate him, but Ngannou was just too tired to do anything after the 2nd. I guess with a guy that big it's a trade off with power vs cardio and I don't think I've ever seen a guy that good who has a really good ground game. I wonder who his BJJ and wrestling coaches are, cause he needs new ones lol. If he can learn to grapple a bit I could eventually see him making another run, cause if Stipe can't finish him I don't know who can, other than maybe Cain if he can ever fight like he used to. I wonder who they'll give Ngannou next. Maybe someone like JDS or Hunt, though I don't think it's fair to do that to JDS lol.

Honestly, Stipe did what he needed to do to win the fights and props to him
That said, watching 75% of a fight where a guy just leans and lays on a guy isnt fun to watch.
Stipe fought a smart, albeit, boring fight.
Francis's cardio and ground game is just not there.
This PPV wasnt worth $6.00 much less $60.00
Thank God I didnt pay it.

Fuck No Robert Whittaker? Who? DC? Not Hardley Stipe. Ugh....no. I don't know if he can be a star, but he's still going to continue to be one of the top HWs for a while with the kind of power he has, especially if he just learns some BJJ. I'd like to see him fight Hunt or Werdum. If he has to fight someone coming off a loss (is that still a rule?) I don't know who he'll fight next cause most of the top HWs aren't. After looking, Derrick Lewis is the highest ranked HW coming off a loss at #6. That would actually be a fun fight, some black on black crime between 2 super HWs. Someone would definitely get knocked out for sure.

I just mean that this is a huge reason Conor has so much pull in the UFC. The UFC usually has at least a couple/few stars at one time. Right now they dont have anyone besides Conor. While I really like Stipe and assumed he would win, I was kinda hoping Francis would win just because he had that star potential, especially exciting for HW which has been lacking in recent years.

Soooo, back to what I said weeks ago. Bellator > UFC tonight.
Bellator = free. UFC = $60
Nobody gave a fuck about the first three UFC fights and the DC fight was pointless. ONE intriguing fight on the whole card for $60.
At least Bellator had a few big names and fun fights, all for $0.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The UFC really screwed up with the whole Ronda thing. Its like they put all their interests in her and no one else. Then Conor exploded. Now Ronda is gone (hehe) and Conor doesn't seem to have any plans on fighting anytime soon and the UFC is screwed. It is the UFC's fault.

Besides a finish.....
Both Championship fights tonight were very similar.
Two contenders that rose up a little too quickly. Both landed some shots but in the end failed the grappling test.

But I'll tell you what. I was shocked on how well Chael looked in the 1st round. I can't remember a fight where Chael looked good standing up. He out landed Rampage, He mixed up his shots. And didn't go for a TD until the last 30 seconds or so. I was a Chael fan for one round. I never thought I would say that LOL

The McDonald Lima fight was the best fight last night in my opinion. Rory is a freak, and weird as hell, but the dude has balls of solid rock and a Killer Instinct that gets stronger as he's more hurt. If you listen to him talk before the fight he thought he was going to run right through Lima. And then he wound up in a fight. That hematoma on Rory's leg was fucking disgusting. And his nose was looking like it did after he fought Lawler. But somehow he pulled out the win, and I have got a ton of respect for that dude.

Again, like I stated weeks ago, Bellator was the better value.

I could see the hemotoma from my seat. We were sure the fight was over in between rounds. Place came alive after the bell rang again.
Up until then, it was the standard la crowd, booing a ton during the stall against the cage.

Again, like I stated weeks ago, Bellator was the better value. The better value in one instance, sure. Free with decent fights is better than $60 with shit fights... your take on bellator vs UFC is much different though.

I was booing from my house LOL On the take down attempts subject. I think the judges should give the person defending the TD just as much as a TD. If I try to take you down 10 times and only get 2 or 3 of them. You did a much better job then I did. So you should get extra points. Just my opinion. I was most surprised with Chaels 1st round. I thought he looked very good in round 1 vs the slow overweight Rampage.

Imo, and from the perspective I was watching from, I felt there wasn't enough action in the Chandler, Rory and Chael fight and at times, I was a lil frustrated with the ref.
