Thought we had this thread on here. Guess not!
Just got done with Primus 2 nights in a row. Ate about an eight of shrooms each night. Spectacular sound, ligtING and visuals. Absolutely superb in every way.
The shows are up on YouTube. Each nigjt was completely different besides for the new EP they released this year that they played both nights. They also played Holiday in Cambodia both nights. Last night I thought that place was going to explode, so much energy it was nuts.
Big primus fan. But last night they dug into the bsides. Loved it. The way they turn their classics into drawn out 15 minute version's of the originAL 5 min song is what I pay to see. A touch of nostalgia just gives me that slight bit of emotion to really set off the night in a great way.
They are playing tonight in Oakland...they do every NYE for the past 26 years. If you've never seen em, well worth it.

Last one was a multi-day one last year, Loufest 2016, wound up seeing
Preservation Hall Jazz Band The Heavy Diarrhea Planet Karate Bikini Foxing
and would walk by a few others.
had to leave early so missed The Kills, also missed Charles Bradley (for the first time). Also we didn't know until they were almost done so only got to hear them ending, but Delta Rae was playing at a bar next door that night

Pearl Jam in St Paul a couple years back now. Stone cold sober, which was OK. Made me feel like I had attended a concert (mostly PJ) in every different state of mind possible (for me). Felt like I hadkind of run the gambit on convert experiences.
I’ve gotten old I guess and have less desire to be wasted in a mass gathering of the relatively general public.

Slayer in 2006. Last hurrah with my childhood- age 30 bff before determining that he was hopelessly 1) hooked on cocaine 2) fried from ingesting every intoxicating substance he could (including stuff like huffing freon/ paint/ gasoline) since around age 17. Funny he had kept it together for all the years he was doing stuff like changing tires for $7/hr. The lack of money moderated his drug use. He came up in the world in his late 20’s until he was making around 60k as general manager at a Goodyear franchise. That lasted around a year and a half, but I digress

Its been years since I've been to a concert. I think my last concert was probably 2003-ish, Saliva, Kiss and Aerosmith. Went with my GF at the time. The show sucked as I expected.
But I was really into the concerts in me early 20's. Mostly punk bands. Bad Religion was my favorite.

Amos Lee about a year, maybe a 1 1/2 ago? Great show, not hardcore shit like most of you seem to be into. What about first concert attended? I think mine was Run DMC... stomach to the stage, standing room, I could have snatched those adidas but I'm sure I would have gotten the beatdown by hundreds of fans had I tried. I felt like one of less than a dozen white dudes, but it was in SF so no big deal really.

First concert was in 1991. And evening with Metallica is was called. Went with some friends from school that I still keep up with to this day. Metalica basically played for over 3 hours. It was a seated show though. Which for a 14 year old sucks lol. But the music was awesome.
2nd show was Lollapalooza 92. Pearl Jam. Soundgarden. Ice Cube. Ministry. Chili Peppers.
I took advantage of growing up in LA when it comes to music. You'd be hard pressed to name a decent act from the 90s and on that I haven't seen live. Notorious BIG is the only one I missed.

My parents took me to a beach boy concert in the mid 80's. Does that count?

In Old Orchard Beach Maine. I was about 5-6.

I don't remember what my first was because there was so many that year at the local venue, but my favorite ever was Flogging Molly a few years ago a few days before St Patrick's Day.

Went to see Nathaniel Rateliff at the Greek about a year and a half ago...
Not exactly my cup of tea, but the lady I was dating at the moment had good seats.
First concert I personally took/drove myself to was Downset, at the Whiskey on Sunset.
Saw Rage Against the Machine when I was in 8th grade at the Universal Amphitheatre, but we had to leave during the middle of their set because Scottie Tenen's mom was our ride home and she made us leave early because she's a dumb bitch.
My parents dragged me to a bunch of 80's synth concerts that i can't remember. I don't really count those...

My first concert ever was Whitney Houston when I was a kid. I rember it was a surprise from my mom and step dad, I rember being disappointed when they told us what it was..now I'm def glad we saw her. I'll never forget on the ride to the show my mom asked what Whitney was probably doing that far ahead of the show Andy stepdad said "probably cocaine"...this was like 25 years ago so who knew he was probably right. Last show was tool in pittsburgh this past June with hot Carl..he took me for my birthday..I'm 38 now and my only hope is they actually release some new music before I die.
