He had to be able to look his kids in the eye when he got home tonight. Eh, I don't think there's shame in pulling guard if you can get the win by doing it. Maia obviously did.

For a while I thought Machida was being patient and going back to his roots of strictly counter striking. Looked good for a bit. Oh welll.

That's how you silence a crowd.
I'm thinking Machida and Maia may need to consider hanging them up as well. Both looked like garbage tonight.

Jesus, I did NOT see that coming.
I didn't think Brunson was good enough to do that and that might be Machida's worst loss ever.
He's really lost a step or two.
Tonight was NOT a good night for the fighters I was rooting for.

Well first of all, he beat the fuck out of Maia, and second of all, he went straight savage in his interview. “Brazil, you’re a dump, all you filthy animals suck” them calls out Tyrone woodLEY LOL I didn't hear the comment about Brazil. He's lucky he was being escorted out because Sao Paolo is a dangerous enough place without insulting the people who live there. I bet if he wasn't escorted out someone would jump him. I hope Woodley kicks his ass. They use to train at ATT. Colby claims he used to beat his ass on the regular. Colby is very good but he’s for sure gone the Conor way of talking himself into big fights. Good for him. He mimicked Woodly’s gameplan against Maia.

Brunson has always had insane power. He’s only getting better. I remember in the old board—I said I thought Brunson had a huge upside and I said he was a dark horse contender. Vale disagreed. He’s not champ material like I once thought he might but he’s a fringe top 5 guy.

Interesting. That still doesn't necessarily mean he'd beat him though.

I kinda expected them both to announce retirement after those losses. I think both guys have nothing left to prove and got as far as they possibly could. I'd really hate to see them continue at this point.

Yeah—in all honesty Maia looked in great shape. So if you come in—incredible shape—willing to go out yr comfort zone (and throw) and still take a L it’s proobably time.

And I don’t think it’ll lead to a shot. Lawyer/Dos is already granted the next crack at woodly. But Covington vs the winner of Thompson/Masvidal next week for a shot at the belt makes sense

Yeah, or maybe he really couldn't even get ahold of Colby. Colby did do a good job of shutting him down, as much as I don't like it. I always respected Maia for his insane BJJ ability but his reaction when he can’t force a takedown kind of turned me against him. Win or lose, Maia has integrity. Pure class.

Maia is lame as fuck. Glad Colby whipped that ass.
And how about Brunson? Dude looks fucking good.

He’s not champ material like I once thought he might but he’s a fringe top 5 guy. I can see me saying that. I wasn't a believer. Don't know if I am yet. I feel it's more that Anderson and Machida have fallen due to USADA than I believe Brunson is that good. I've been wrong before. Back then I think he was more of a gnp guy, no?

Well, it was all my fault Maia and Machida lost. I had $100 on Maia and $150 on Machida. So I jinxed them.
Right now I feel like I'll never bet on a Brazilian again...

Usada came through and fucked the brazilians all up. Now they only look good against one another!

Let’s do away with Brazilian fighters. They aren’t worth a fuck anymore.
