Haven't done one of these in a while and I like them.
I'm guessing most will say Conor would win but I personally think Khabib would take it.
I included Edgar because I think he'd be a hard fight for Conor, and Garbrandt because he's looked so good he'd make it interesting but the rest are lightweights.
Everyone would have to weigh 155lbs so Garbrandt wouldn't cut weight I'd assume, and neither would Edgar.
So who wins if these 8 fighters have a tournament?
Honestly, I could see a few people winning, from Conor, to Khabib, to Ferguson, and possibly even Garbrandt and Edgar. It's really not crazy to imagine Garbrandt or Edgar winning even with the size disadvantage.
Obviously first and second round matchups would have an effect, but use your imagination.

That would be a great tournament.
I'm not sure who would win. I'm eliminating Khabib, don't think he will make the weight. Conor would probably be my 3rd choice to win. Right now I'm leaning towards Ferguson.

Honestly, how could Khabib could stay healthy in consecutive fights? He fights so rarely it's really impossible to consider him. Plus, he looked like a fish out of water in round 1 vs Johnson and that really calls into question how his hands will fare against some of these guys.
I would say Conor or Ferguson. If I was posting odds this is how I would rank them:
Ferguson Conor Khabib Nate Lee Gaethje
Frankie - too small Cody - way too small

Silly. How does he beat Khabib? How does he beat Ferguson or Conor? He COULD win, but "easily"? No.

He seems to have the same problem as Cain: keeps getting injured and maybe trains too hard, but I still see him as a problem for most guys. He has the best takedowns at LW that's for sure.

I'm guessing he could win a close decision too. Is Tony that good? Who has he caught? Khabib last fought when? He's irrelevant. Keep trying though.

All three will end Conor.

Sounds completely absurd to me. Saying Diaz would win "easily" is absurd. None of these guys wins easily if they have to fight any other 3 to win because they are all so good. Here's how I see Diaz doing at 155lbs vs the others. Who he beats: Garbrandt---Too much size, probably wins a decision if its 3 rounds or TKO if it's 5 Gaethje: Diaz has a great chin and cardio and I see Gaethje gassing to try to get a finish and then getting TKOd or guillotined Kevin Lee: Too unproven, Diaz wins by decision Who I see him losing to: Edgar: Edgar NEVER gets subbed and will out wrestle Diaz all night long, 3 or 5 rounds. He's faster and has a great chin and wouldn't get get caught and eventually grinds out a decison. Ferguson--Decisions Diaz. Khabib: Wrestle fucks Diaz all night long, Diaz would be lucky to stuff more than one takedown. Conor--They are 1-1 so who knows, but the cut would hurt Diaz more than Conor.

I'm not saying it's crazy, but I just don't see it. I mean there's reasons he's never been champ and is ranked #7. Does anyone actually see him ever holding the LW belt? I don't.

Who says he would have to fight Ferguson? I dont see brackets?
And although I'm a big fan of Tony and have gone to see him fight live in local shows, I think Nate can out strike him on the feet and it's more...can Tony hang with Nate if it hits the floor?
Honestly, I don't see Ferguson or Conor besting Kabob or Lee. And I don't think Kabob can make weight multiple times. Can't make fight = you don't win fight
Nate is also the only one in the tourney to beat the current lw champ...but he's ranked no 7 for a reason. Ok.

Can't make fight = you don't win fight I guess I was kind of asking who people think is the best out of all these fighters and who beats the most of them really. Him vs Tony would be a very tough fight and it would be hard to say. Tony's striking is really unorthodox and he mixes it up so much more than Diaz with standing elbows, spinning shit, kicks, knees, so I could see him getting the better of Diaz on the feet since Diaz so rarely does anything but box. On the ground I could see lots of good scrambles and Tony has good BJJ but probably not as good as Diaz's, but I think Tony would decide where the fight takes place so who knows. I just wish Khabib would fight again cause like him or not, I really do think he's the best LW right now. He's like the Cain of the LW division: could possibly beat everyone but can't stay healthy.

As far Nate vs Conor, didn't that happen at 170lbs?
So that's why he's not higher ranked at 170lbs, but I thought I heard he wanted to stay at 170lbs now so I don't know which class he's fighting in.
I guess him getting beaten so badly by RDA a few years ago is one reason he's not ranked higher up, and then the Josh Thomson loss back in 2013.
Styles make fights and Diaz fights weirdly so it's hard to ever say who he can and can't beat.
His wrestling being weak is what has probably cost him more fights than anything, and the fact that he doesn't kick or check leg kicks.

Finally, some common sense.
Diaz is the most durable and most consistent.
He's also already beaten Conor.
Diaz always fought at 155, so what's the issue with him making the weight?

Most consistent? He's lost 4 out of his last 7 fights. He's actually extremely inconsistent

Diaz got beaten almost as badly as anyone can without getting finished by RDA. And he'd never beat superior wrestlers like Khabib and probably not Edgar either as his TDD is too weak. He's good against the right kind of opponents, but he's lost 4 of his last 7 fights, 1 to RDA, one to Josh Thomson and one to Conor and lost to Ben Henderson before that. He's a great fighter, but he'll never be champ in any weight class IMO. And I'm pretty sure I'd heard him say a while back that he didn't want to fight at 155lbs anymore and now that they are making weight cutting rules stricter it will probably be harder for him.

If rda is so great than why the fuck isn't he in this tourney?
Truth is, rda liked him some juice. Dude lost to Eddie and didn't even get a rematch.
Nate biggest problem is he shows up to the fight, regardless of nagging injuries.

Juice or not he proved he's better than Diaz in that fight. Diaz makes for weird fights depending on who he's against, he either dominates or gets exposed.

Well, RDA fights at 170 now, that's why he's not in the rankings. I don't know why Cody is in it. RDA would be a better choice for the tournament

Rda is fighting magny at ufc 215. No wonder he's not in this tourney.
That should be an interesting matchup. Magny is a tough sob that is always in the fight. Dos anos may have a hard time keeping up the pressure while dealing with that reach.
