Even if you agree with his motives, suspension and fine for sure. You just don't do shit like that.

Although it would had been pretty cool if the ref was Mazzagatti.

I didn't see him kick Big John.
Could someone post a gif?
And why did he do it?

He was mad McCarthy didn't stop it sooner. Nelson: “Yeah, when you knock someone out you already know it’s like a home run. For me, I wanted to knock him out but then I have to throw more punches. He’s my friend and he has to go home to his family. He’s my friend.”

Even knowing he was quite right (Big John should have stopped on the second shot), you just don't kick the referee in the ass. Suspension and fine.
I respect Roy for doing that...

So I guess kicking non-combatants in the octagon is just becoming the norm now. Even though both had it coming, it's not cool.

Always been a fan of Roy's, but that was dumb. He should have said something, but doing what he did makes him "the bad guy". If he'd just said something, thr focus would be on BJM'S late stoppage instead of the kick Roy threw.
He let his emotion take over and now he's probably going to get in trouble for his noble intentions.

Even though the stoppage was indeed late, Nelson could have walked off like Hunt if he knew Bigfoot was out. He also had the option of just saying something to Big John. By kicking him, he accomplished nothing other than making himself look like an idiot.

Yea The definitely going to do something to him. You can't let him get away with that. He is going to be fined for sure what else they do who knows. I doubt he gets cut but a suspension I could easily see here as well.

I respect him for doing that but imo he should have saved it for his post fight speech and just put big John on blast.
I understand that emotion is running at an ultra pace that most of us will never understand, but gotta have control. Not his first rodeo.

I have no problem with it. BJM is a fucking idiot for not stopping that fight.
For a guy who helped write the book, he sure needs a wake up call.

The stoppage wasn't horrible. Bigfoot survived Reem's punishment and came to win. Roy's behavior was childish and uncalled for. If he was that butthurt about hitting that gorilla in that giant melon, he shouldn't have taken the fight.
6 month suspension and 10,000 fine.

he needs to be fined and suspended. a basic tenant in combat sports of all types: no physical contact with an official , in an aggressive manner, ever. I had a Muay Thai fighter push me away from him , checking out a cut. he was indefinitely suspended by CSAC , never showed up for his hearing, and his career was over. What will be interesting , is to see what body acts on this.

Roys and idiot. He could have stopped swinging. I know he pointed out that he didn't want to risk the fight continuing and Bigfoot getting back in the fight, but if you know a guys lights are out and you're that concerned with his health then stop the fight on your own.. probably easier said than done, but many guys have stopped swinging before a ref had to stop them if it was an obvious KO.

I didn't think BJM did anything wrong TBH, he only really ate one big shot and from memory that's when BJM jumped in, Bigfoot wasn't completely out when he got dropped and blocked a couple shots (only seen this once).
I dont get Roy's beef, its not as bad as Daley vs Kos but you dont touch the ref!
Somewhere Gilbert Yvel is chuckling away!

Roy can't do that and get away with it. You just don't hit a ref, even if the ref fucking sucks. I don't think he should be cut though, so I think a fine and suspension would be the best punishment for him.

You gotta suspend and fine him. You can't let any kind of precedent be set that you can get away with touching a ref!

I still don't see any issue with it.
Fuck BJM for being a moron.
Why should we penalize someone for stepping in when needed?
Roy did the right thing.

Right, when a ref messes up (sometimes only by your own opinion) you should be able to put hands on them. Brock Lesnar should havs DDT'd the Maz after the 1st Mir fight. Yeah, that's an intelligent solution.
