Its unfortunate that the mma world doesnt have a 220 lbs division. It would have been great for small HWs like crocop. Flabby 245 crocop was underwhelming. We cant question his dedication, going in as 230lbs in a open weight tournament.
War Crocop!

Who's he fighting?
And honestly I don't think any of Crocop's losses are due to his size.
He always could have made LHW if he wanted to but he chose not to for whatever reason.
His weight back in Pride used to be 213lbs and with the beatings he gave Barnett it was never a size issue for him.
He just needed better BJJ and better wrestling.

No for a few reasons, one being he ALWAYS could have made LHW and chose not to, so why would you say they should make another weight class for him??
The best HWs have always been in the 220-240lbs range so I don't by that as a reason he couldn't be the best HW out there.
And who do you think beat him only because, or at least mostly because of their size???
I'll just throw a few out there:
I don't think his loss to Gonzaga was mostly due to size, I think he just left himself open.
His loss to Fedor wasn't size as they are about the same size.
JDS is also not much bigger than him either, maybe like 15-20lbs but he doesn't dwarf him.
Nelson knocked him out but LOL on Nelson being overweight as the reason he knocked him out.
Schuab is about the same size, maybe a bit bigger.
I don't know about his losses to guys like Mir, Kongo, etc, but if you think size is the main reason he wasn't UFC champ I think you are wrong.
He was Pride GP champ and looked amazing that night.
A version of Crocop who just had better BJJ, better wrestling and tighter defense when it came to blocking the head shots could have been champion.
Give him Cain's wrestling alone with his striking credentials and he'd have been UFC champ IMO.
So no, I don't think Crocop's size was the problem for him.
That's not saying it NEVER played a factor in his whole career, it's saying I don't think that's why he wasn't UFC champ or a reason there should be a seperate 220lbs weight class.
He should have fought at LHW and I bet his record would have been better, but he still wouldn't have been UFC LHW champ with Jones and Cormier etc.

It's hard to say size isn't a factor for every fighter in the HW division. Sure the smaller HWs have success due to speed and agility advantages over the big guys, but the monsters have their own advantages as well such as power and strength. Now, if you were able to give someone both of those advantages (Brock Lesnar) they would be nearly unstoppable. Brock became champ with very little experience because he had both. If Crocop was the same Crocop but weighing in at 250+ he would probably have won more in the UFC.

next up, a roided Wandalei ? Would love to see it. Is he even allowed to fight under another organizations banner right now? Does that even matter if it's international?

He was released from his contract and was present at last night's Rizin event. Crocop called him out, Krazy Horse called him out. He had a shouting match with Krazy Horse at the hotel lobby & an altercation backstage. Rizin is awesome.
