People wonder why anyone would want to be president, given how ragged and stressed and worn down they always look by the time they're done. I always say it's they do it because they know they'll be set for life afterwards, with obscene talking fees, book deals and "advisory" rolls with corporations. Obama, who already had a ridiculous 60 million dollar book deal, for his life story, will be getting 400 grand to speak for some Wall Street company Wonder what Sanders and Warren will say about this? You want to present yourselves as being against Wall St, and standing up for the little guy? Well your champion for the little guy just took a giant bag of cash from the big guys to be a pseudo life coach, for a day I'll say this for Trump. At least he was already filthy rich..........which then again only meant he knew a lot of these guys already, and gave a bunch of them political appointments. Five or six people from Goldman Sachs alone. So he doesn't get a pass either. But the dems are the ones who prop themselves up as the opposition to greedy Wall Street Now what?

www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/incredible-discovery-reveals-human-activity-in-the-americas-130000-years-ago/Here's a fucking bombshell in the "we don't know shit" dept: human civilizations in America 115,000 yrs EARLIER than previously thought. There were people in Cali with stone tools, hunting mammoths, 130,000 yrs ago. There's also a massive pyramid complex in Mexico that the Aztecs FOUND several thousand years ago, had no clue where it came from or who built it, they wrote that it was built by giants, but it was simply abandoned by some people who were here long before. The shit that went down, and how it all lined up, we just have zero fucking clue. Lines up with the idea that the Incans did not build the roads they are famous for as well as a number of other structures that likely pre-date the civilizations we give credit for constructing them. These old South American pyramids might have more connection to the Sphnyx than they do the pyramids in Egypt. Just like the Humans, Turians, and Krograns thought the Protheans built the Citadel. Boy were they in for a surprise.

Sorry, I just finished finals and I've decided to use my newfound free time by playing the original trilogy again. I have no use for Andromeda.

Was watching a docu on the OKC bombing last night and it just occurred to me how ruthlessly agressive Bill Clinton was with the federal law enforcement powers and nobody associates that with him now.
They kicked in a family's front door and drug their 12 year old kid out and deported him at gunpoint. Elian Gonzales.
They tricked a poor redneck into sawing off shotgun barrels for money and then raided his cabin, shot his 14 year old boy and his wife in the face, and then threw him in prison. Randy Weaver.
A UPS driver tiped them off that the Branch Dividion was ordering guns so they rolled in there with ATF, FBI, Marshals, SWAT shot 20 people, killed 5, then entered into a 40 day stand off, eventually they caved the walls in with tanks, shot tear gas inside, and then ---- ?? burned the place to the ground with 89 people inside because they were tired of waiting. Waco.
On this same date, two years later, a bomb went off at the federal building in OKC that housed ATF, OSBI, and FBI offices, killing 168.
One of the main points they made in the docu was that McVeigh was a scrawny, tall kid who hated bullies.

In my life I watched Bush Sr, Clinton, and Bush Jr. consistently work to expand the power of the executive branch. I had hoped that with Obama's constitutional law background he might, just might, slow that expansion of powers down. I didn't see any evidence that my hopes came true. And now there's zero chance in my mind Trump will slow that expansion down, if nothing else based on his attitude toward the judiciary and congress.
I've never been in the camp of "it's my team in power so it's OK the executive powers are expanding." The other shoe will always drop.
So, what will it take to reduce the power of the executive branch? Is there anything other than an overthrow of government? Because I can't imagine who could come in in 2020 or 2024 and show restraint.
Hilary wouldn't have reduced the power of the executive branch. Neither would Bernie, nor Carson, nor Fiorina, nor Christie, nor Rubio nor Cruz, nor... Maybe Rand Paul might have? Maybe? But he's not getting elected any time soon.

Pulling back from that your turn/my turn game of possessions, like a college football game, and realizing the overall trajectory of things, the shoes dropping, seems almost intangible. It's become all out war. It's become a zero sum game of desperation. And if some future administration uses our own shady tactics against us, so be it. We're willing to risk it because right now, in this moment, the sweet controls of global power are at hand and it's time to ram the ball down the field as far as we can get it, consequences be damned.
Which is precisely the argument for federalism and libertarianism. You can't give a small group of people THAT much power and expect it not to go off the rails. You can't run a fucking continent, let alone the world, with a team of advisers from a small office on the East coast. God couldn't fucking do that, and we think some dude can? It's laughable on it's face.

I can play Fallout NV and all 3 MEs on my laptop no problem, but I don't think it can play the newer games. I've never been willing to spend the money on one to try it out. And might I say, for all the hate windows 10 gets, old games run so much better an easier now than they ever did on any previous version of windows. So bravo Bill Gates, you got something right. I haven't had to fuck with my register or anything. Hell, even mods work.

Obama gives powder puff speech to the Wall St fat cats he just spent 8 years demonizing, fanning the flames of class warfare, railing against collusion between banks and corporations and government, and now he's schmoozing with hedge fund firms and walking out with a whopping $400,000 an hour later, cashing in on the very greed and insider back scratching he pretended to oppose. Of course, he also pretended to oppose war and spent every single day of his 8 years in office engaged in it. Almost reminds me of a certain socialist rabble rouser paying a 13% tax rate for fuck's sake. Zero hypocrisy here, back to your cubicles.

It appears NK just fired another missile. and it failed again. Just like every other one. The Russian intel ship, the Russian intel service, the Chinese Sub, etc... That whole area is all bark no bite. They spread themselves too thin and had too much corruption (made Hillary look good by comparison) and it bit them in the ass in today's world.

At least with Trump it's just an ego trip

Remember those riots in Berkeley where the police refused to intervene to stop arson and violence? Turns out the fucking MAYOR was at least loosely connected with the fucking antifa group that raised hell and shut the speakers down. You can't make this shit up, man. People talking about a need for compromise don't seem to grasp the chasm of eternity between malignant marxist cuntery and actual "leave me alone" rural America. How do oil and water compromise? That's just dumb, and doomed. They can only hope to leave each other alone. Re: federalism.
Berkley Mayor Jesse Arreguin was revealed to be a member of the anti-fascist group, By Any Means Necessary (BAMN), on Facebook. BAMN orchestrated the violence that shut down a scheduled lecture at UC Berkeley featuring Milo Yiannopoulos in early 2017. Arreguin is allegedly also friends with BAMN leader, Yvette Felarca, on Facebook.

i dislike obama just as much as the next guy, but cashing out after office is the norm and honestly, i don't have a problem with it. reagan took bags of cash from the japanese after he was out of office. george w cashed out too. they earned their golden ticket when they won the office. they're not breaking any rules or laws. they're worth whatever anyone is willing to pay. imo, this isn't a reason to bash obama. there's plenty of legit reasons to do that...

No, you don't, because the next guy is me.
Look, nobody is complaining about cashing in on fame; we're pointing out the hypocrisy of spending a decade railing against fat cats and Wall St insiders, and then getting a half-a-million-dollar pay day speaking at Canter fucking Fitzgerald's Wall St Investment Bank wine mixer just 90 days out of office, helping brokers, traders, and hedge managers game the health care markets to get richer. It's a ''Bernie Sanders paying 13% income tax'' level of hypocrisy. If Obama speaks at Harvard graduation or the national parks association or the Chicago yacht club and makes an obscene fee nobody will bat an eye. It's the brazen audacity of the strange bedfellows here that's rightly drawing some ire. I don't knock hustle. I'm a capitalist. But I hate hypocrites and guilt peddlers who turn around and stick their hand right into the fattest cookie jar on the block after wagging their fucking fingers at the rest of us like some high and mighty stinkless cunt. Obama can get fuk't.

I don't know anything about whats going on over there except that the media doesn't like LePen. So I'm rooting for her LOL If you looked into them, Fillon is probably who most of this board would support. LePen is to the left of Obama, with the genocidal dreams of Hitler. My main problem with LePen is that a lot of the things that the media claims Trump is...Marine LePen actually is. She's openly xenophobic and racist, and makes no effort to hide her "France for the French" goals. She's just like her father, even though she's tried to distance herself from him for PR reasons.

It's an interesting topic. I'm strongly for decentralizing power and decision making, but when you've got a whole city aiding and abetting border jumpers, drug mules, and people who generally don't want to play by our rules . . . I mean . . . wtf, city? Here's a new tweak on the "chimps share 99% of our dna" thing. Looks like Bonobos are actually closer, and chimps on a separate . . . branch. wakelet.com/wake/6357f6ee-5214-446d-9ef4-31774f7c5a7b
