So Amazon packages are subsided $1.46 per package. How does that help create a competitive marketplace? I thought one of the goals to the administration was to bring back competition and stop the big corps from getting the handouts. Are subsidized . . . now, always have been, was this a Trump move?

I thought one of the goals to the administration was to bring back competition and stop the big corps from getting the handouts. Are subsidized . . . now, always have been, was this a Trump move? Started back in 07' with changes to the Postal Services fixed cost percentage. Amazon because of their size though is able to manipulate it so they flood with packages at last mile locations and basically cut $1.46 off of each delivery (thanks in large part to most of Amazon's warehouses recently being subsidized in the first place to allow them to take advantage of the non-adjusted fixed cost). It's one thing to grow large enough to manipulate loopholes in the market. It's another when the actual action of making yourself big enough and located right came from the government in the first place. So small local/regional businesses don't get the government building them warehouses around the country so they can reduce shipping, but because Amazon has blackmail and controls their re-election campaigns... well we'll help cut your costs and keep competition out of the market.

I think you're misunderstanding what's going on, Jackel.
There is no government subsidy for Amazon packages.
What there is though is analysis from Citigroup that says that the u.s. postal service has miscalculated the cost of delivering packages by $1.46 per package.
That is not Amazon's fault. That is the fault of a government-run agency that doesn't know what the fuck it's doing, or how to use a goddamn calculator.
The most likely result of this analysis is that the u.s. postal service will increase their charges for package delivery by $1.46.
Since it is prohibited by law for the postal service to charge less than the cost associated with delivering a package, this likely miscalculation will be corrected.
However any news headline that you read that said that the government is subsidizing Amazon's packages is fake news. It's misleading. Very misleading.

However most eCommerce businesses who ship packages don't get to make use of the discounted cost, Amazon does because the government subsidized their warehouses to be built in areas with direct access to the post offices allowing them to remove most of their last mile cost (about 28% of shipping cost).

I think you might want to check out the definition of subsidized.
Because no - the government did not give money to Amazon to build warehouses. Sure as shit wasn't the federal government.
What did happen was that Amazon sought tax breaks at the local level in exchange for creating jobs. And that's all that happened.
Of course Amazon did their research and set their warehouses up strategically to maximize the efficiency of their delivery Network. Again that doesn't have anything to do with the government.
I would be absolutely shocked if a company that is currently trading at about 400 something dollars a share is getting government subsidies to build warehouses. And I think just about every other taxpayer in the country would be too, which is why there are no government subsidies directed at Amazon.
You cannot fault Amazon for playing the game better than anybody else.
And since you can't do that, instead you just make up a bunch of bullshit. Not you specifically Angelo, just certain media Outlets.

It stymies competition and creates unfair advantages and reduces options to the consumer.

Except for the fact that Amazon creates more jobs in the places it sets up warehouses than those small places can even imagine to do. Tax breaks for large employers are not a new thing. They're just part of the deal.
Look at Tesla and their gigafactory. There are no government subsidies given to that company. And they really needed to have the gigafactory set up in the desert. But they still got massive tax breaks from Nevada as they negotiated for the terms of the gigafactories construction.
It's unfortunate that the government only seems to get out of the way when it comes to massive corporations. But that's really the only issue here.

What the fuck is wrong with people. A girl in Chicago give birth to her daughter, then walks to the window and drops the baby out the window of the 8th story apartment. She was charged with 1st degree murder but pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. She killed her kid because she kept the pregnancy secret from her muslim parents because she thought they would disown her. Well she was in jail for two years as she waited for all the court stuff. She ended up getting four years probation.
Stories like this just really piss me off. Cause not only do you have the fucked up person killing an innocent, the lawyers and judge make it seem like it was basically ok to do. 4 years probation for killing a baby because your parents wouldn't understand.
Just sickening

Well, you might not agree with the message, but you can't deny that the cinematography, storytelling and acting were not just top notch... but groundbreaking...

Went to see Garth Brooks last night.
Not a huge fan. Own no albums. Not really my scene. But good god, that man is something else. A manic, ADHD nuclear fireball for 3 solid hours. VERY easy to see why he's so decorated and successful. The dude was literally running, jumping, screaming, wheazing with laughter, caught one guy in the stands proposing and called them out then bought them a honeymoon in Hawaii, called all his stage techs up on stage and told stories about them . . . just incredible energy and presence. Not sure I've seen anything like it. Compared to the Tool show I saw in the same building a few years back, this was 100x more enjoyable, and I actually like Tool. He did a ton of covers, too, so that was fun. James Taylor, Johnny Cash, George Straight, Randy Travis, Bob Seager, kind of did a 70s/80s country/rock sampler deal, all acoustic, just him, riffing and freestyling, then the whole band comes out and it's arena rock, pyrotech, Hank Williams Jr shit. Man. Definitely an experience. Well done, GB.
I prefer small shows, live bans, small venues, harder shit . . . but for a big show, this might be as good as it gets in terms of one man's ability to just be larger than life and wildly entertaining.

The thing is that those blue eyes are the result of contact lenses.
Maybe you could say that you used a skin softener that accidentally made your skin tone lighter, but I don't know how you could say you accidentally put a pair of contact lens in. Those things are a real pain in the ass to put in.

Haven't kept up with any of the bullshit regarding Sammy Sosa's skin tone.
I would assume that he would say it was an accident. Is he admitting that he's actually bleaching his skin to try and look white?
If one was black but then became White, does their life stop mattering?

Hillary would have only been worse than Obama because she would have started closer to the end zone, and also because she, while not brilliant, is orders of magnitude smarter and more driven than Obama
