So....super bowl tix. Life is grand! Turns out I could still go because my cousin who lives in Minnesota has tickets because of the Vikings for some reason but is a Bills fan, but I don't give a shit about the teams left. Maybe next year the Bills will make it.

Saw a young man working at an independent burger joint the other day. The guy was a little slow, but I haven't seen a person that proud of their job in a long time. Asked me to even double check to make sure I had enough napkins after handing me my bag at the drive thru.

If I was able to provide steady work right now, i would seriously consider trying to poach that guy.

There is a server at a local diner/burger place we go every couple weeks who is fantastic at her job. Always in a good mood, always on the spot with orders and service, and will even serve you when you are not in her area. I always tip her like 50% when we are in her area because she makes the experience way better. I am going to need an office girl in the next few months, and even though she doesn't know jack shit (guessing) about payroll or construction, I am thinking about seeing if she wants the spot. I would rather have good attitude and motivation over any level of experience when the first two things are not there.

Whenever I interview for laborers, I almost prefer younger guys who don't have any experience in the field but do have a good attitude. So many guys think they know everything there is to know about paving, but their experience is old school or just flat out wrong.

I would rather train someone from scratch than have a guy with bad habits who thinks he knows everything. I hired a guy about 18 months ago who was a contractor that had his own business but decided “it was better to work for someone else”... which really meant he failed. Fuck me was he a pain in the ass know-it-all. All he would do was try to pin people down for mistakes and tell me the right way to do things. (Ironic I am posting this in this thread).

Done You should put a reminder for 2/8/19 to put a reminder for 2/7/20 for the same thing. Waiting for him to get a job is kinda like opening up those little Russian dolls that just getting smaller and smaller.... just like our hopes that he is going to become a man one day.

Let's get some odds going on this! First we need to define a job. I would say 6 months steady employment of at least 30 hours a week, and taxable income of at least $20k. His posting will need to decrease by at least 50% for me to believe he is actually working.

Out here though, without specialized skill, you looking at 20hr/week @ 7.50/hr if you can actually get the job. The few odd jobs I get under the table only pay what comes out to about 4$/hr, but I take them. The current restaurant proposal is looking good though, already raised 50k, have another 50k contingent on location. Had someone willing to invest the full amount, but I'd only make 19k/yr working 90-105hrs/week and retain under 1% ownership, and I'm honestly in no shape to handle that workload for that right now. Fucking asshole wasn't even willing to let me limit myself to 80/week. But then again that guy is an asshole, basically a loanshark but more creative.

I've been on the boards forever (it seems) and I can't remember him having a job. This could be like Tyson vs Douglas or Holms vs Ronda type odds. Not trying to be mean. But him finding full time work within a year. I would guess the odds would be around +800. Him not having a car puts a big damper on getting a job. If he got a car, the odds would go down quite abit.

Well it doesn't meet Kyle's requirements, but I'm making my version of Dhal for someone on Saturday and if they like it enough they are going to give me 25 per batch each week they want since they want to keep it on hand instead of making it themselves on a regular basis for her family. That only about 20 into my pocket each (but probably two batches a week so 40) but yay.

Tony does quite abit of "under the table" "work" maybe he could teach you some "Handy" skills, oh and it doesn't have to be just under the table some times it is in the alley or in a bathroom stall at a rest stop off of I95. Only thing Tony does it for the love of the it you woulod have to figure out how to monetize it on your own

But since we are here, Angelo ever land a gig? I know you have me on ignore (though for reasons that no longer exist) but.... Nothing reliable, recently I did some Python and Java work for a student. I arranged buyers for Cuban Rum in the region if the embargo gets lifted with everything going on. Working on a few other things but not sure where they gonna go.
