I'm not really interested in either of the coaches, but I like the idea of having all champions from other organizations as competitors. Good fights so far.

Cool
I wasn't real interested in the coaches and that's why I have been holding off.

Yup, same here. When I saw who was coaching, I was like "meh".

I don't care about Cejudo or Benevidez at all, but the fights have been fun to watch. I think MM is better than all of the contestants, but it's cool that they are actually making an effort to inject fresh blood into the division and find him so challengers. They aren't a bunch of inexperienced new guys, either. There are some cool matchups, even on the show, and it leads to a lot more possibilities for the division. I think a fair number of these guys would be able to do well in the UFC, even if they won't beat MM.

I Like the season a lot so far . A bunch of these guys have real potential . Lately only a handful or so have been sticking around around the show. I wonder if more will stay after this season.

It's been pretty decent. That Shelton kid that just pulled the big upset had been around the Iowa scene for awhile. Very solid skill set. I was pretty shocked at his seeding but he hasn't faced the greatest of comp the past two years. He's a big kid and improving.
None of these kids should have anything for DJ but it'll be nice to get some talented kids to fill out the division.
I'd be pretty shocked if Tim Elliot didn't win the show.

I missed the first episode but every other episode so far and all the fights have been amazing and this is the season that will prove to all the naysayers that the 125lbs division IS VERY FUCKING EXCITING!!
People like Locogato for example, are always saying that the little guys suck or are boring but that's bullshit.
Just watch the last few fights on this season, Damacio Page vs the guy who beat him (forgot his name) and the last fight between Eric Shelton and Yoni Sherbatov, both of those fights were SICK.
The idea of having it be all champions is SUCH a good move because I was thinking just recently before the season started that Flyweight was too stagnant and that nobody would ever challenge DJ.
Well with 16 guys who are actually CHAMPS at that weight class in different orgs we have a MUCH better chance of someone beating him.
In fact, I don't know whether or not the winner of this season will beat DJ BUT...I am going to make the prediction that eventually ONE of the 16 guys on this season will be the guy to take the belt from DJ and be the 2nd ever Flyweight champ.
Styles make matches though so that doesn't necessarily mean the winner will be the best, so I'll go further and predict that the winner of this season will NOT beat DJ but that one of the other 15 guys will.
So if or when it happens I'll be the first to have made the prediction.
At the very least, it might be the guy who wins the season, but ONE of them IMO will beat DJ.

Tonight's episode was really good.
I was really impressed with Ronaldo Candido and how even after getting dropped he immediately recovered and took Alvarez'es back and choked him out.
I think him vs Shelton is going to be a good fight.
Dana just said that every fight this season has ended with a finish which is really impressive.
If you aren't watching this season I'm telling you now: you are missing out.

The theme this season is that most of the lower seeds are beating most of the top seeds.
This season is really fucking exciting.

This season has been great and we see finishes every fight! Very cool format and some of these dudes are very talented. Mighty Mouse mops the floor with them all, but still a really fun season.

Honestly IMO this may be the best season I have ever seen in terms of the overall quality of fights.
Not surprising at all seeing as they are all MMA champs.
Matt Schnell's performance on the last episode was MASTERFUL.
Subbing the black belt as a purple belt (not that belts always mean so much...sometimes they do sometimes they don't) and proving his superior wrestling pedigree didn't mean much either.
He stuffed takedowns LIKE A BOSS and even the ones the other dude landed just resulted in a nearly sunk guillotine, nearly sunk triangle, and then the triangle that ended the fight.
That dude is one to watch out for in the future.
I hope he fights Shelton cause that fight would be FIREWORKS.
