Oh actually Jess and me were gonna go to New Orleans to see her at Jazz Fest back in May but she cancelled for health reasons so decided to wait and hit it up another year. That will totally happen. Yeah it will, we may be going to New Orleans early next year regardless with her Sister. It's cheap and we know people there so can bring the dogs.

So, your version of "I came close to meeting Aretha" is "when I was 10, my family briefly considered going to one of her concerts. But we didn't." Do I have that right?
Do you know how concerts work? You generally don't get to meet the artist performing. I know, I know, your great aunt's neighbor's postman was Aretha's personal chef in his spare time and he and would have gotten you an exclusive meet and greet in Aretha's green room...

I don't remember why but I think she was going to play at Darien Lake and the event manager at the time was a friend of the family, I think he used to work at the restaurant and my Grandfather actually got them the job. Whenever anyone performing wanted pizza they'd go so far to make sure they ordered from us. My dad actually delivered to Aerosmith personally there in 72 and I think the New York Dolls a few years later'. My mom used the connection to meet Garth Brooks, Van Halen in 96', and I think Dunn of Brooks and Dunn. Because of my mom and my friend's mom (who was a regular singer at Dinosaur BBQ) we used to be able to meet the people who played there too including BB King and Clapton, I missed out on Dr John because of one of the few times I was actually sick, but my mom got to meet him. Aretha was my white whale, I gave up on finding a way to meet her and instead just wanted to see her live is all. Going to see her at Jazz fest was gonna be my birthday present (and an excuse for Jess to get back to New Orleans) but when she cancelled we decided to save the money for a longer trip there. There is nothing crazy about that, people go to concert and events all the time.

I lived in New Orleans for a year. And i gotta tell you while you are there you should go check out New Orleans east, Algiers, the Ninth ward and all the lovely neighborhoods directly outside of the french quarter, all at night and by yourself of course. Lovely places. Oooh and don't forget go check out some of the historic cemeteries, but don't go with any crummy old tour guides you can walk a cemetery by your self the tours are all scams. Oh and you should bring Tony and Vale with you of course (safety in numbers after all)

No, but I wanted to. Came close in the 4th grade after I wrote a paper about her for a class project, but family vacation plans prevented that. Though I heard she was like a lot of celebrities and off putting to people she doesn't know or not from her home. So you wrote a paper about Aretha Franklin that was so good that you were invited to meet her but had to cancel for a family vacation? Lol. If you say yes, I'm requesting Bobo ban you.

Hell she even had to spend time out in their boonies studying cajun french culture (something that even natives tend to avoid). If it weren't for her sister living here, that's where we'd live. I'm not falling for your shit.

And the Boonies aren't that bad, its the spots where stupid tourist go by themselves (such as the cemeteries) where they get robbed by druggies and gang bangers (right outside the french quarter is ghetto as fuck too as well as any alley way in the quarter, with a couple exceptions like pirates alley)

Anyone that has spent considerable time there will tell you the same thing, if you aren't some whitebread disrespecting tourist, you won't get rolled regardless of where you are. It the same at St. Louis, if you aren't an asshole, and you aren't part of a gang, you don't really have much of an risk. But then again we know you are not only a narcissistic racist, but an asshole to boot, so no surprise that was your experience.

Me, dope game took me to the worst parts of Baltimore, Philly, and Pittsburgh. There are places you just dont go after dark if you dont live there. Hell, half the people that do live there wont go outside after dark. NOLA and St. Louis arent some magical cities where the hoods welcome tourists with open arms and fresh squeezed lemonade.....lol. I dont know wtf you are talking about, funny thing is.......neither do you........

The restaurant that only serves millionaires and billionaires. They come to tell their secrets to the deaf chef. Damn. I just gave you the title of your someday YouTube channel, Jackel. I better be compensated.

Stan Lee died. I can even begin to tell you how much the marvel superheroes (spiderman, hulk, x-men) meant to me as a little kid. At least he lived a full life at 95 years of age and he was married to his wife for 69 years before she died earlier this year.

His legacy might not be the most detrimental, but have no doubt he's one of the worst. Another puppet of Israel, and a traitor to his country. Taking the US to unnecessary wars in the middle east. But I guess he's in heaven now, playing grab-ass and grabbing guns with Ronnie Reagan.

But I guess he's in heaven now, playing grab-ass and grabbing guns with Ronnie Reagan. Reagan and Bush were bitter frienemies. Reagan had to be bullied into making Bush his VP (The repub establishment hated Reagan as much as Trump, and only agreed to play ball if he made Bush VP), and it was probably his biggest mistake, as he likely could have beat Carter without party support. Reagan never endorsed Bush as his successor until after Buchanan (reagan's preference) dropped out. Bush was a skunk. His dad was an Original Eisenhower RINO who worked hand in glove with the communists to defeat McCarthy's crusade for truth, and Bush himself was rotten to the core and presided over a CIA which was bent on concealing foreign moles within the agency. As president, Bush ensured that the Soviet "collapse" went smoothly... for the soviets. He made sure that decades of crimes were not exposed, and that nobody asked too many questions.
