I don't think its a bad fight. I'm not sure who will win.
But it makes no sense sports wise. Isn't there contenders in each weight class they both could be fighting instead? I don't think this is a high dollar fight either.
Who's belt is on the line? Or is it a fight just for the fun of it.
Edit. no belt on the line. Catchweight

Bisping is great at running his mouth, Woodley has been getting his McGregor attitude on lately, seeing as what it can do. They'd have fun with it, but would probably be gloves-off type of trash talk, Cormier-Jones-esque. They don't shy way from the media either. There would probably be a lot of appearances, lots of public verbal scrums, hype built, etc. Both would probably cash in, but I could see it being a lull fight. Just an odd fight right now, they have a combined 2 title defenses between them lol.

If this is true, its complete bullshit. There are plenty of contenders in their divisions for them to fight. And its not like either guy have been the champion for long and cleaned up their division.
The new UFC owners are just about the money fights. It wont be long until we see Pride-like freakshow fights.

I already have one foot out the door, They will probably push me out the rest of the way.

Edit. no belt on the line. Catchweight Exactly. I saw your post after I posted mine. Makes no sense. And like you said, it wont break any ppv records. Neither guy is a "superstar" worthy of a "dream match up".

But i wont be as passionate about it as i am now. Ill still be here posting in the OD though. Lol

Again, lets just hope that it's not happening and it's them just trolling the contenders in their division

I already have one foot out the door, They will probably push me out the rest of the way. Hey, slow down there. No reason to start bailing on MMA. We shouldn't be thinking just yet that the new owners are going to turn it into a circus. The UFC has done plenty of fucked up stuff way before these owners took over Let's at least give it a chance and see what happens.

I can live with the occasional money fight like in Conor's case. But I wouldn't want that to be the norm. Let's wait and see.

The UFC has done plenty of fucked up stuff way before these owners took over Let's at least give it a chance and see what happens. Its been like that for a while now. Like many of you I watch every event. Yet it doesn't interest me enough to remember who fought. I couldn't even tell you all the fighters that fought a couple days ago. Which is really bad because I score the fantasy fights and record what fighter won and how they won. I don't have a favorite fighter anymore, I can't stand the hype on some of the fighters. Can you imagine if Sage would've won a few more fights before he started losing. They would've make him out to be a unstoppable force.

the only champion/champion fight that every really interested me in the short history of MMA was GSP/spider. 99 times out of 100, they don't make sense and this is one of the 99. as was said, neither is a dominant champion. nobody that i know is clamoring for the fight. i could see woodley wanting it as he wants money fights (see him trying to duck wonderboy and fight diaz) and this is a way to get a decent payday and not put his belt on the line thus ensuring at least one other fight at champion rate.
the fight hasn't been made yet so the jury is still out on new owners to an extent. if this fight does happen though, it's a disturbing sign of things to come...

I haven't bought many PPV's in the past few years. The only ones I bought were Connors.

Who would you guys take in this fight? I like Woodley, I think he hits hard enough to hurt or knock out Bisping, I think he would be a lot faster and he has better wrestling. I'm not a Bisping hater or anything. But I do kind of like Woodley's chances in this fight.
I'll take Bisping over Mighty Mouse. To much of a size advantage.

I just watched the video of this on IG.
It's nothing more than Bisping and TW back stage BSing and talking about a fight at 180.
TW asks what Bisping weighs and he doesn't say much. TW says he's about 205.

I'll eat my own shit if they do this fight.
WME has a massive debt to repay. They would be insane to tie up two division titles.

They would be insane to tie up two division titles. agreed. if they tie up two divisions, LW and WW make more sense, but only if you disregard conor's intention of sitting out 10 months. if you can get conor in the cage in 3-4 months, giving him a shot at woodley and the ww belt, it makes more sense if you can make the tony/khabib fight for the true LW #1 contender. then conor can defend LW in 8-10 months against the winner of tony/khabib. i'm not a fan of the above. mixing up weight class champions is not something i'm a fan of, but if they're going to do it, i think the above makes more sense.

Neither of them is THE money fight and putting them together doesn't make it much better.

what if the new owners are trying to pad the ppv numbers so they can flip the company to the chinese or someone in dubai?
