Thinking about this a little more this a.m. . . . what a dumb fuck comeback fight for Rousey. Her manager should be dragged out into the street and shot.
Brutally picked apart by a precision striker. Depression and mental breakdown. 18 month layoff. And you come back not to a tune up, not to a favorable match-up to knock the rust off and build confidence, but to an even better striker at the top of the division and . . . obviously . . . the exact same outcome. What a moronic way to manage talent and the potentially lucrative comeback of a highly marketable persona capable of movie deals and endorsements never before seen in MMA.

1. Rousey's Mom seems to be a OK person. Sounded like she spoke truth.
2. Amanda is da woman lol. Her laughing at Ronda's coach was funny. He put in her head that she is a boxer. But it was true, you had all these people telling her she was good with her hands. Had her believing she just got caught vs Holly. I really doubt Ronda will come back. but if she does, she needs to stick to her one trick. Embrace it, She is a tough girl and can take a few shots. Work on enough footwork and TD's. Look at Maia, I think he won like 2 fights without even throwing a landing a punch LOL. If she doesn't come back, I'm fine with that too. She was a flash in the pan fighter.
3. Cody. I watched a few of his fights but never really thought much of him. Wow did he prove me wrong. He did great out there today. I hate immediate rematches, but if anyone should get one. Its probably Cruz.

What a dumb fuck comeback fight for Rousey. Her manager should be dragged out into the street and shot. So she's the biggest phenom in the history of women's MMA. Budding film career. Mega-product endorsements and sponsorships. Literally a game changing figure in the sport. Brutally picked apart by a precision striker in Holm. Exposed and humiliated. Depression and mental breakdown. 18 month layoff. Just catastrophic in every sense of the word. And you set her come back fight up . . . not to a tune up, not to a favorable match-up to knock the rust off and build confidence, but to an even better striker at the top of the division and . . . obviously . . . you get the exact same outcome. Frankly, a worse outcome. Jesus. And it painfully obvious that she hasn't improved her striking game OR her ability to nullify the striking of an opponent AT ALL. This is like the definition of insanity. Bush league fighter management both from coaches and from agents. They turned a cash cow into road kill. Nice fucking job. What a moronic way to manage talent and the potentially WILDLY lucrative comeback of a highly marketable persona capable of movie deals and endorsements never before seen in MMA. you beat me to it. spot on.

The UFC wanted her to be in a title fight. The UFC knew she wasn't hanging around much longer, you can't put her in a tuneup fight. What if she would've lost the tune up fight?
Her coach gets the blame for not teaching her anything on the standup game. For not trying to improve her as a fighter. He know he can't tell Ronda she can't do something, I think everyone around Ronda knows they can't tell her NO.

I have to believe money was a main factor for Ronda coming back. 3 Million plus PPV is some good money even by her standards. Is she really getting that many Hollywood roles? I don't think so. While I totally agree with Baph and that it was idiotic to bring her back to fight someone who's actually a lot better than the girl who KO her the first time, it would have been hard to pay her that $$$ and have her return to fight a scrub.
What I would really love to know is if Ronda truly believed that she could beat Amanda. I know people feed her a lot of bullshit but did she truly believe herself that she had what it takes to beat someone at the level of Nunes. I know as a fighter, you always have to believe in yourself....but at the same time, you need to look at fights as realistic. Did she not realize after getting completely smoked in the stand-up with Holly that it was going to be even worse against a striker that, in my opinion, is lot better and more diverse than Holly? At least with Holly she would have had the ground advantage. I am not sure she had ANY advantage in this fight other than maybe a potential hip toss.
anyway, I would have liked to be a fly in the wall in her brain just to know what she was actually thinking prior to the fight.

Glad she at least made a shit load of money. I was never a fan, but I have to admit, she did a lot for the sport. Thanks to her the UFC got a lot of crossover exposure.
Take that money and make the best out of it. I doubt she will get a bunch of movie roles now that she is not the invincible fighter she once was.

If you guys want to see how much exposure Ronda gave the UFC, do a Google Image search on "Ronda Rousey magazine covers" and another on "Ronda Rousey talk show appearances"
She has to be the most famous UFC fighter in history when it comes to mainstream exposure.

I'm a Cyborg fan. But she really can't say anything. Ronda's career ended in the cage by a brutal knock out. But that's still betting then having your career ended because of cheating.
I'm assuming she gets suspended for a few years. She's not that young. Don't know if she'll come back.

It became very clear to me after the Holm fight that Ronda took this fight for money. Her unwillingness to travel to other camps or work with other coaches was a huge red flag.

Pretty smart of her to just do it for the money. 3 million guaranteed plus the ppv points. Not bad for under a minute of work. Count whatever she got left from her previous fights and she should be set.

I have never seen "twinkle toes" Cruz drop someone multiple times in a championship round, just a lot of 🏃 running. It's funny how hard it is to run when your getting knocked out.

I don't think anyone was going to pick Ronda in this fight. If I had, I would have talked shit beforehand. Nunez looks like a man, specifically Tito Ortiz with a tan. Ronda kinda looks like a man, too, but that man is Toby Keith, who isn't even a fighter

I read somewhere Ronda said she needs to take some time and evaluate her career and decide what to do going forward.
I think she already knows what she's going to do. And I really don't think its going back into the cage.

And I really don't think its going back into the cage. Absolutely. I mean, in hind sight maybe this was a smart move. She just put $5 to $8 mill in her pocket, she's got more name recognition than any fighter in UFC history, maybe she's got something totally unexpected in mind. Or just taking a FAT payday and disappearing, opening a judo school, and living a quiet life.
