The USADA is destroying our sport. Fuck them.
I wish fighters could sign a contract waiver where both fighters won't care if either one of them juices.

LMAO. Glad he got popped AGAIN. Yep, take out the trash. He should get a lifetime ban. I wish this shit would have been around back in the pioneer days. We wouldn't even know Ken Shamrock, that'd be great.

usada is going to cripple the mma companies that use it. fast forward 2 years, all the top ufc fighters will be banned and were going have have a bunch of skinny johnny come latelies that are fighting... or a new MMA company will come along that doesnt invite USADA to the table. I think its too late for the UFC to tell usada to go take a hike...

They are trying to get away from the roided out freak show stigma. All they have to do is not cheat. I'm sure they will make a league in Japan for all of the science projects who aren't talented enough to be relevant in the UFC without cheating.

This is not the fighter's fault. The athletic commissions needs to accept and assume full responsibility for this.
If MMA had legitimate weight classes these people wouldn't be nearly as compelled to look for every little advantage.
When you have a champ of 145 and 155 that walks around at close to or above 180 pounds, that represents a real problem.
And that's why it's not the fighter's fault.

This sucks.
I really like Barnett as a fighter so I hope they let him still keep fighting.
IMO he's stayed exciting even while getting older and would still make for some good fights I haven't seen like with Werdum and Overeem and probably a few others.

This deal with the USADA was done with the old owners. I wouldn't be surprised if the new owners bow out of it. They probably haven't done so because it's a PR nightmare; they will basically be admitting that they let their fighters cheat.
If they can find a way to leave and blame it on the USADA.....Maybe if the USADA fucks up a test they will have a reason.

Words from the mouth of someone who has never competed in a sport. Athletes will ALWAYS try to game the system. Always have, always will. Not blaming them is as bad as not blaming Jackel for not having a job.

I just did. Read it again. And again if you need to.
See: Olympic Athletes for starters. See Major League Baseball players as far back as 1910s...they were all cheating.

Football players wouldn't be juicing if the end zones were bigger.

How many NFL players are there and how many got caught juicing in 2016?
Compare that number to MMA.

52 NFL players were suspended for PED use this year. As of August (the newest figure I could find), 15 UFC fighters were flagged, and some of those were still pending. Percentage-wise this should roughly even out. About 1500 players in the NFL, and about 500 fighters under UFC contract.

The NFL figures are only for this season as well, so that's a shorter time span than for the UFC fighters, btw.

I'm not too familiar with NFL PED testing guidelines, but I don't think they are nearly as stringent as USADA?

I think Josh Barnett wakes up every morning and has some corn flakes and steroids for breakfast.

He has to be the only person in the history of ANY sport, that's got popped 4 times for PEDS You are probably right. I recall Steve Howe, the baseball pitcher who was suspended SEVEN TIMES back in the 1980s and '90s....but HIS violations were for illegal drugs, like weed & coke, not PEDS.
Baseball didn't even seem to know PEDS existed back then -- the commissioner's office looked the other way -- or else Howe might have been caught using them too.
Too bad about Barnett though; I always admired his skills and resourcefulness. I still remember him USING HIS TOES to "climb" the fence and reverse positions with Randy Couture, resulting in his victory via stoppage, in their HW championship fight back in '03.
(Of course his first PEDS bust occurred immediately after, and the outcome was nullified)
