We have a lot of film fans on this site. Let's see how well-versed in FAMOUS, MEMORABLE QUOTES from various films any of you are....
All of the film quotes shown are from R-rated movies in three genres: Horror, Gangster and Macho Hero (think Stallone and Schwarzenegger) films....because those are my favorites. Some relate a brief exchange between two characters, and some are a single line, or brief speech, uttered by one character.
"Points" are awarded by properly identifying: (1) the film from which the quote originates and (2) the name of the character (AND/OR the actor) quoted.
Some quotes are not exact, as my memory is faulty when recalling quotes from movies I saw 30 or more years ago, but all are paraphrased in such a way as to preserve their original message. Many are indeed exact.
The winner of this contest will be awarded the prestigious PatSox Cinematic Appreciation Cup, carved from recycled Styrofoam...and an advance free ticket to Transformers 6: Autonomous Autos Go Mad.
HERE ARE THE QUOTES:
1. "ALWAYS put one in the brain!"
2. "I don't want to grow anymore!"
3. "Bust the deal, face the wheel."
4. "You are thinking of a brick wall...."
5. "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer."
6. "Sanctuary! Sanctuary!"
7. MAN: "Lady, I'm a rapist and killer of women." WOMAN: "Then I must make you very nervous."
8. "I get off at 2. Two is a good time to get off, don't you think?"
9. "NEVER stop fighting until the fight is done!"
10. "If it bleeds, we can kill it."
11. "Get three more coffins ready."
12. "You're a much stronger swimmer than I am...LET ME DROWN. Carry me to the airlock and revive me!"
13. "Go home and get your fucking shine box!"
14. "We'll take Cook's car. He won't be needing it."
15. MAN: "Who do you think this man is? God?" REPLY: "God would have mercy... HE won't."
16: "I was cured, all right...."
17: "This...is something from Hell."
18: "They're coming to get you, Barbara..."
19: "Leave the gun. Take the cannoli."
20. "Game over, man!"
21. "We're a rescue team. Not assassins...and I don't do that kind of work."
22. "GET AWAY FROM HER, YOU BITCH!"
23. "I resolved that just as man had dominated the outside world, so would I dominate my basement universe. And if I had to die, it would NOT be as a helpless insect in the jaws of the spider monster."
24: WOMAN: "The doctor said you can't fight anymore. You could go blind!" MAN: "He RECOMMENDS I not fight any more. I recommend I do."
25: "On the boat it's bootlegging. On Lakeshore Drive it's hospitality."
26: "When a man with a pistol meets a man with a rifle, the man with a pistol is a dead man."
27: "I never killed anyone that didn't deserve it. This country spends $100 billion a year getting high. That's not because of me. I'm not your problem. I'm a businessman."
28: "All I wanna do is go the distance."
29: "You're a funny guy Sully. That's why I'm going to kill you last."
30. "Say hello to my little friend!"

Please refer to the quote number in your replies. You get one point for correctly naming the film, the character and the actor. Therefore, three points are available for each quote....
Only ONE reply per contestant of course.
(and by the way, ONE of the quotes is from a comedy)

7 is one of the later Aliens, it's the dude from Roc speaking
10 is from The Predator
12 is from The Abyss
13 is from Goodfellas
16 is from A Clockwork Orange
20 if from Aliens
22 if from Aliens as well I think
30 is Scarface
There are 3-4 others that ring a serious bell but I can't quite put a name to it. Trying to figure out 15 and 18 and it's driving me nuts.

Feel like we should have that quote thread back. Nobody looks up what it is, person who gets it, leaves a new quote.

And the dude from Roc is Charles Dutton, a real-life ex-con who became an actor, sorta like Danny Trejo did.

Baph already identified #30 correctly.
And you got 13 & 19 right too.

A ruling from the judging panel was required on your response to #27; the actual title is King (not Kings) of NY. Your answer was accepted by a 6-1 vote. This ain't Jeopardy.

The Russian general was mocking Col. Trautman's hope of any rescue. Under my arbitrary scoring rules, you are given credit for a correct answer. Guessing on sequels is OK.
#19 was indeed The Godfather (Part 1).
All the rest are correct.

Are the first eight quotes just TOO difficult? Only Baph has penetrated that baffling wall of mystery.
PatSox is probably looking on, laughing, and dismissing you all as cinema neophytes.
Here's a clue with regard to a couple of unrecognized quotes: I MAY be so impressed with any correct response regarding them, that I might even hand you a few bucks....

9. "NEVER stop fighting until the fight is done!" Probably Rocky giving one of his corny motivational speeches in Rocky 5 or 6 or Creed 10. "If it bleeds, we can kill it." Ah-nald from Predator 13. "Go home and get your fucking shine box!" Billy Batts in Goodfellas 18: "They're coming to get you, Barbara..." Night of the Living Dead.....I think 19: "Leave the gun. Take the cannoli." Clemensa from The Godfather 20. "Game over, man!" Worst actor ever giving worst performance ever. Bill Paxton in Aliens 22. "GET AWAY FROM HER, YOU BITCH!" Ripley from Aliens, after Bill Paxton's character was thankfully long dead 26: "When a man with a pistol meets a man with a rifle, the man with a pistol is a dead man." Sounds like something Tuco would say in The Good The Bad and The Ugly 27: "I never killed anyone that didn't deserve it. This country spends $100 billion a year getting high. That's not because of me. I'm not your problem. I'm a businessman." Scarface? Or maybe Johnny Depp's character in Blow? 29: "You're a funny guy Sully. That's why I'm going to kill you last." Ah-nald in Commando 30. "Say hello to my little friend!" Scarface

3. Beyond Thunderdome? 5. Godfather 2? Another cinematic savant checks in.
Correct on both.
The Godfather films were loaded with great quotes. I didn't bother with "I made him an offer he couldn't refuse" because EVERYBODY knows that one.

Wrong on #9 (Untouchables, Kevin Costner/Elliot Ness taunting Robert De Niro/Al Capone), #26 (For a Few Dollars More, Lee Van Cleef as Col. Mortimer, the sharpshooting old rifleman) and #27 (King of NY, Christopher Walken as drug dealer Frank White).

So far Baph is the leader with 8 correct responses. PatSox (who also has 8) is also in contention to win the Cup named after him, but Baph would win the tiebreaker....which is fewer incorrect responses.
Let the competition continue; I am unilaterally declaring Overtime. Additional responses are allowed by ALL contestants, and I'm still a bit surprised no one has seen the VERY old horror flicks from which several old quotes were taken.

#10 and #14 were already correctly answered by Baph and mmaphreak.
#11 was from "A Fistful of Dollars" (not Predator), where Clint Eastwood passes a coffin maker, as he approaches a group of banditos who'd amused themselves by stampeding his mule.
You guessed right on #15 so I allowed it. In my admittedly arbitrary scoring system, guesses between two successive sequels are scored as a correct response. Now if you had guessed "it's either Rambo III or The Sound of Music", I woulda said you'd gotten it wrong. Very, very wrong...
#17 was actually from Dr. Blood's Coffin, not Predator. It's a creepy 1950s horror flick starring Hazel Court, who later became a veteran of those old Hammer horror films in the 1960s. Her long-dead husband is revived at the climax of this movie, and she is less than thrilled to see him as a walking corpse....leading to her "something from Hell" remark.
#26 was previously revealed to be from "For a Few Dollars More." You guessed wrong but that doesn't count (hey, I said the rules are arbitrary).
#28 was from the first "Rocky", so you got it right. Rocky's heartfelt confession to Adrian that he knew he wasn't "even in his (Apollo Creed's) league" and just wanted to feel like he "wasn't just another bum from the neighborhood."
You answered 17 times, with four already correctly identified by other movie nuts. Only two answers were wrong. So you have 11 correct answers and are hereby declared the winner of the PCAP Cup.
Since you're an avid MMA follower, you'll also receive the entire 478 page volume of the official Marvin Destin Scoring System for the sport, thoroughly explained in all its subjective glory. It's not an autographed copy, however....but don't you two live in the same state?

Here are the answers to quotes not previously identified:
#1. Miller's Crossing. Johnny Caspar's opinion about correct gangster murder procedure. A mob film from the Coen brothers. Need I say more?
#2. The Amazing Colossal Man. The quote is from the unfortunate subject of the title, going mad after an H-bomb test goes wrong. (Marvel Comics stole the idea, scene by scene, as the origin of the Hulk in the early-1960s comic book. Gamma rays got blamed for a LOT of stuff back then). I grew up loving these cheesy 1950s sci-fi flicks. I was 5 or 6 when I saw it.
#4. Village of the Damned. A very good, creepy 1960 British film starring George Sanders as a teacher who must attend to eerie, mysterious kids with genius intellects and telepathic powers who are terrorizing a small UK town. The quote refers to the childrens' attempts to read his mind, as they correctly suspect that he has decided to kill them....while trying to conceal his true intent, lest they kill him first.
#5. The Godfather II. The quote was Michael Corleone's reasoning for his dealing with Hyman Roth, who was behind a previous attempt to kill Michael.
#6. The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Shame on you guys for not getting this. Charles Laughton (as the Hunchback, Quasimodo)) taunted the bloodthirsty crowd seconds after his thrilling rescue of Esmeralda (wrongly convicted of witchcraft) from the gallows. The quote refers of course to the medieval practice (still honored by some societies to this day) of Sanctuary within the Catholic Church. The scene is followed by Quasimodo's desperate -- and fiendishly resourceful -- deadly defense of the Church as it is attacked by the angry mob, who just wanted to see the innocent Gypsy girl hang anyway. You'll want to stand up and cheer for him at the violent climax to this great movie.
#8. The Cheap Detective. No, the quote is not from a porn film. Peter Falk is the title detective, and the quote is from a floozy he meets dancing in a bar. A decent comedy that came out around 1978.
#18. Night of The Living Dead. Barbara's asshole brother trying to spook her in the film's opening sequence.
#23. The Incredible Shrinking Man. Grant Williams as the title character, already shrunken down to perhaps a half-inch tall, upon realizing that he must fight a common house spider for a piece of bread lying at the base of its web. This film came out around 1957-8.
#25. The Untouchables. Robert De Niro as Al Capone, reminding us just how little we learned from Prohibition. As if we NEEDED reminding....

However, OC has won the Cup, Cup.
