Nothing released on who he's going to fight, but the only logical opponent would be a rematch with Robbie.
Meanwhile Nate says he's not taking calls from the UFC for anything less than $20 Million. LULZ.

Right now the rumor mill is that it's either Robbie or Bisping.

Bisping makes no sense.
Robbie might be cool.

Right now the rumor mill is that it's either Robbie or Bisping. lol at giving a guy a title shot who hasnt won a fight in 6 years. And shame on Bisping if he accepts that fight. These new UFC owners are going to end up turning the promotion into a freak show like Bellator.

I'm seeing now that maybe Nate Diaz/Khabib at 209 for interim LW title.
I don't understand all this interim shit. Can these fucking champs not fight?

Conor just won the belt - why is there a need for an interim champ? It's almost as if this is the UFC's way of flexing it muscle with Conor to prove they are in charge.

The UFC is desperate for a good main event for Brooklyn.
Or they are somewhat trying to get Conor to come back and defend one of his belts.
Wonder if they tried Aldo vs Nate for an interim title at 155

This shit looks like a circus sideshow.
The UFC doesn't want Conor in there against Khabib for sure, as that's his worst matchup.
There's no reason Conor can't fucking fight someone at 145 or 155.

Conor is pregnant! But having Khabib, Nate or Aldo for an interim title is a good way of having one of them unify with Conor down the line. It's Conor that doesn't want Khabib.
An interim title at 155 is better than another 145 fight with no title on the line. Max just won his, who can Aldo fight? The UFC seemed more keen on a 155 interim cause of Conor's absence

If Conor hasnt fought 6 months from now, then we can start talking about interim fights, but until he's actually absent, leave that division alone. They need to focus on 145 and figure out how to fix that shit.

They don't care about stability... They want a big title fight for Brooklyn. That's it. Dana has always had a fascination with interim titles. Everybody knew the winner of Max/Pettis was going to fight Aldo with a target for Brooklyn, expect Max. So have Aldo fight who?
What if the UFC does not plan on giving in to any of Conor's demands? And they expect him to be out longer? A plan to get Conor to come out and fight? This is just about getting a title fight for Brooklyn and not that 145 women's title.
Having Conor with two titles and on leave is no good. It bit them in the ass. Casuals want to pay for championship fights. Hell, even the hardcores do too. Title unifications are also money makers.

There's no need for this interim title bullshit. They should have a fight for a #1 contender. Guaranteed red panty night to whoever wins.
Nicks Diaz Vs Robbie will be the shit

I agree, to hell with an interim belt. #1 contender should be exactly that. We already get 5 rounds for a main even so what's the fucking difference? I know they want to headline shows with belts when possible but you stretch that out like they have and the belts don't mean shit.
And it gets confusing. To the casual fan, do they know who the actual 145 lb champ is right now? It could be perceived to some that there are 3.

Conor just won the 155 title and they want to have a interim title fight already? yet I can't remember the last time the HW or LHW champs fought but I hear nothing about a interim title for those weights.

And this whole "Casual fans care about championship fights and interim belts" ....is so not true.
I have never met a casual fan in my life that bought a UFC because of a title. They buy the PPV if they like the fighter(s) on the card.

Can these fucking champs not fight? if this is true, it's total garbage. nate is coming off of a loss. if you want to get him in the fold, give either khabib or ferguson the next shot and whoever doesn't get the shot fights nate for the #1 contender spot. IMO, the ufc is fucking themselves into a corner with all of this horseshit. with the prospect of a fighter union on the horizon, the UFC choosing money fights over righteous contenders will just further shove fighters into the union.

I thought looking back on Bumblebean was the worst mark in UFC history, Im certain its WMG or whatever that Ari guys company buying the UFC will be its downfall. Its a fucking circus. That whole bigger than the NFL crap seems like such a distant memory now. Its become like bikini chicks playing football...

I feel bad for GSP. He has this old school contract that is worth fuck all now... $300,000 to win plus points. lol Poor guy asked for $10 milly and Dana said fuck you boring guy hugger, we have a contract and you cant sell a fight for shit like Conor can... he's so lost in the new guard and hes only been gone 2 years lol

The GSP situation is interesting. Of course he had a huge following and always did well in ppv sales.
But this is a brand new climate. Obviously what sells now is the flamboyant shit talking fighters like Conor and Nate.
Not sure how today fans will react to GSPs clean cut imagine. Or his boring fighting style.
Even without his long layoff. I dont think his style and demeanor will sell well today.

NGAF about GSP and that's why the UFC passed on him.
The new owners are looking to do big numbers, not put people to sleep.

i'd love to hear their rationalization/justification for needing an interim belt at 155.
after this fight i'd love to see nate vs barbosa for the 155 intercontinental title.

How long until we get interim interim belts?
The Holloway thing was hilarious. He won an interim featherweight title by winning a 148lb catchweight fight. You couldn't make that shit up!
Whilst I always laughed when Dana trotted out the old "trust us, we know what we are doing!" line, it's becoming abundently clear rather quickly that these new guys haven't got a fucking clue what they are doing!
It's fucking hilarious. Dana don't give a fuck either.

Dana is playing ball with the new bosses Oli. He is in a tough position IMO. He probably knows this is BS but he has to kiss a bit of ass.
Then again, he owns, what is it, 5% of the company? So its on his best interest for the owners not to fuck it up. Unless he is planning to bail soon.
