(In Napoli where love is king When boy meets girl here's what they say)
When a moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie That's amore When the world seems to shine like you've had too much wine That's amore Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling And you'll sing "Vita bella" Hearts will play tippy-tippy-tay, tippy-tippy-tay Like a gay tarantella When the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool That's amore When you dance down the street with a cloud at your feet You're in love When you walk in a dream but you know you're not dreaming signore Scuzza me, but you see, back in old Napoli That's amore (When a moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie That's amore When the world seems to shine like you've had too much wine That's amore Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling And you'll sing "Vita bella" Hearts will play tippy-tippy-tay, tippy-tippy-tay Like a gay tarantella, lucky fella

So for the past 3 weeks, I've been binging on Mexican Narco corridos. Mexican songs about the cartels.
The main hurdle is that it sounds like fucking circus music. But once you get pass that, the lyrics and the stories are pretty bad ass. All about drugs and murder. Some real gangster shit.
There's a lot more going on than just the music. The cartels commission songs honoring dead cartel members. Plus lots of tribute songs to the big guys like El Chapo. So basically these artist have to pick a side and stick to it. These artist venture into rival cartel territories and they get murdered. Not that long ago a whole group was murdered. Everyone from the singers , the musicians and even the roadies.

Just PMd this to Fasthands. This Exodus track is about The New Mexico State Penitentiary Riot in 1980 where 33 people were killed. I was reading about the worst prison riots in history and was reminded of it. Such a good track: youtu.be/aaIhXTL0kVMAnd here are the lyrics to go along with it, which are too good IMO not to read along with it: youtu.be/yqVWh7g6T8g

Mongolian Folk Metal... I did not know it existed Folk metal has become fucking gay. It's not funny, it's not good... it's just stupid. Nile and Ade if you need your metal themed on anything historical. While I agree a lot of folk metal has gotten really lame I think Tennger Cavalry kick ass and so do Eluvitie, Korpiklaani and Ensiferum if you consider the latter folk metal.

For some reason I've been on a Southern Gothic kick. I'm thinking it is because of my love of the blues which is basically the biggest influence of it.

German, female fronted grindcore/crust/powerviolence band. They might be foreign language as well, but I'll be honest I can't tell what the singer lady is saying and that's just fine by me. Svffer. youtu.be/pPKKrhafd_Y

Lately it's been a mix of:
Run the Jewels 3
Redman -muddy waters
Tool -Aniema
The Underachievers -Lords of Flatbush
Soundgarden -badmotorfinger
And some Sturgil Simpson...he's pretty good considering I'm not the biggest fan of country.
If you are tired of your current playlists, I highly recommend giving any of those a try if you are not familiar with the artists.

Heard they were planning another album but don't know when it will come out. Audioslave never made sense to me and I don't like them much. I mean both Soundgarden and Rage kick ass but are polar opposites: Soundgarden: complex musical structure with real guitar riffs, high pitched singing and surrealistic lyrics Rage: very simple musical structure with only basic riffs, rapping and no real signing, and very political lyrics So yeah, lets take the singer from Soungarden and put him with a totally inferior band lol. I mean Zach De La Rocha was always the only really great thing about Rage IMO, his vocals and most of all his lyrics while the band just followed along, while ALL Soungarden members are great. Honestly, it would have also been bizarre to have put Zach with Soundgarden's band but that would have at least come out more interesting than Audioslave. It just never made sense to me.

Dragged Into Sunlight/Gnaw Their Tongues--Absolver off NV: SUCH a sick collaboration between these two bands. For anyone who doesn't know D.I.S., they are one of the heaviest newer metal bands out their, mixing everything from sludge to black to grind to death. Gnaw Their Tongues is a SERIOUSLY disturbing experimental/blackened-noise band. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWACKW1QJJI
