By the way, what's up with Trump dining with Romney the other day. After Romney talked all that shit.
Was it a case of Trump making Romney eat crow? I hope the rumors of Trump considering Romney for a position are not true.

Thus far I've seen Michael Moore, David Axlerod, and the Young Turks all make strong pro Trump arguments. I've seen Al Gore, Rham Emmanuelle, and Leo Decaprio visit with him in Trump Tower. I've seen him soften some of his more abrasive positions. And I've seen 14 days of record stock market highs. Right now, every major index avg is at an all time high and the Dow is approaching 20,000 pts. If Trump will wholesale abandon the war on drugs and hold true to his military detanglement positions, plus back off on this trade war rhetoric he's got a chance to really do something here. Got to admit I have some mild concerns over some of these appointments, but overall I remain optimistic. His ability to directly engage people (Taiwan, Carrier, Ford) and get results is impressive.

Excellent point in the video about leveraging companies abilities to land gov contracts with their willingness to keep other jobs domestic. If Trump can make that deal with Carrier then he can make it with everyone. The government contracting world is enormous and everyone wants a piece of that pie, so this is an excellent, strategic, immediate success story for Trump. I hope he spreads that strategy and it becomes a qualifying factor when government officials award contracts.
We are going through a re-compete for the vendors that run certain security checks for us and it's 16 million per year with 4 option years, and it's one of the smallest contracts we have. Almost every government contract qualifies primarily on price, but we could shift a percentage towards domestic job creation.
disclaimer: please only comment if you are actually employed. None of us care about the opinions or theories of the unemployed.

Yep. And you don't even have to do anything shady. Just grant priority in government contracts with domestic production and couple that with a reduction in corp tax rate and you'll have people coming home in droves. Frankly, you may see some foreign companies looking to relocated HERE for a change. Wouldn't that be a trip?
And there's precedent. Government contracts right now give priority to minority ownership and other douchy PC cool points garbage that have nothing to do with merit or with domestic production/workforce.

That trade war rhetoric, and hopefully actual action will be a great boon for the US and open the doors to legit globalization. We need that to happen especially with the EU falling apart.
