Conor beats Aldo, becomes champ, never defends, UFC gives belt back to Aldo.
LOL
Wow, looking back on the history of the belt in a few years is going to be hilarious...
Conor was holding onto that flash 13 second knockout of Aldo as some sort of massive accomplishment, but what he did afterwards is a pure embarrassment.
He refused to give Aldo an immediate rematch, if I were Aldo I wouldn't ever allow him to sniff that belt again. Maybe as some sort of cash out fight when he plans to retire just to get paid, but I would make him squirm from this point on for doing that to me. Aldo needs a PR person I could right some damn good promos for him to antagonize McGregor

On the bright side for Aldo fans, at least he will get to hold the belt again. It would have just been more humiliation for him if they had a rematch.

So just to set the record straight....
Aldo pulls out of the first fight and then Conor has to fight Mendes
Then Conor eventually fights Aldo and smokes him in 13 seconds
Aldo makes a statement to the press "I will fight Conor anytime, any place"
Aldo is offered a fight with Conor when RDA pulls out but Aldo refuses the fight because he's "injured"
Sorry man, the joke is on Aldo here, not Conor.
Conor will always be remembered as the guy who starched Aldo in 13 seconds.
In other news, Aldo is now the "undisputed" champ....heeheeheee.....HAHAHAHAHA
A Fucking Hand-Me-Down Belt is what Aldo has.
P.S. Sorry bobo

So Aldo and DC are the 2 champs that didn't beat a champion for the belt.

and until they do, they will always be remembered as JUST that. I have a little sympathy for DC since he at least made the effort until Jones fucked up again for the #357 time

Aldo is now a paper champion and will always be a paper champion that had his clock cleaned and then ran from the rematch. His belt means dick. I do, however, look forward to him fighting Max or Pettis but expect Aldo will get injured or pull out of fighting either of them.

I did hear an interview with Max on MMA Hour and he said he's offered twice to fight Aldo but each time Aldo has turned it down.
He said Aldo has pussyitous

Well, Hendricks, Lawler, and Woodley never beat a champ to get their title because GSP retired with it... I guess every WW champ since BJ vacated it after he beat Hughes is not really a champ either. You can't win a belt and never defend, there is no dispute in stripping Conor, the only reason they let him keep the belt was to "make history" against Eddie. Aldo will be the rightful undisputed champ. DC has also defended multiple times, it isn't his fault Jones can't keep his shot together and got suspended. There is no dispute in stripping Jones either so all of them are undisputed...

DC and Aldo, both still active, lost to the champ in their division and only to the champ. Regardless of whether it's their fault or not, there will always be a stigma attached to their championships.
DC and Aldo's situation are a bit different. First and foremost, DC gave Jones a damn good fight and was all set up to fight him again until Jones fucked up and pulled out.
Aldo, on the other hand, pulled out of the first fight with Conor, got dusted in the actual fight, then turned down the rematch that was offered to him
Like OC said, Aldo is a paper champ right now.
Hell, I doubt Aldo feels like a true undisputed champion right now.

Paper champ right now? It doesn't make sense. Conor left. Gone. He isn't coming back. Now this is where you guys will argue but for all intents aND purposes I think we can safely assume Conor does not return to 145 unless his career depends on it (couple losses in a row). At this point, you might as well treat his move as a retirement and crown another champ.
Sure, some people will argue it isn't legit but there is no way for anybody to make this "legit" unless Conor defends.
As far as the "DC gave Jones a good fight" argument. So... Cain lost via ear missile but came back and showed he is better than JDS. Aldo got caught coming in. All legit, not a fluke in any real sense and the result would be the same (probably) if they fought again but nobody with any real sense thinks Conor would starch him in under a minute again. It is a fight that should happen again.

Conor ran from the immediate rematch with Aldo and never defended the belt. sorry ut that's firkin embarrassin. he made fun of Aldo for the same thing, but at least aldo defended it. Conor not even once. for 2 decades now, every mma fan knows in order to properly call yourself a champ, you need to defend the belt. this is the truth of the sport.

I think there should have been some agreement with UFC and Conor and they had a small presser where Conor said he was relinquishing the belt. From how it looks, they just needed a main event with a title so they used the first chance they got to take away the belt from Conor.
Conor's silence on social media is kind of telling too.
Ah well, I am getting tired of defending Conor. I am starting to feel like the board's "Jasper"
I am sure you know how I feel, Floyd. I remember you defending GSP a time or two

Lol... I think Conor not talking is more telling. He knew it was coming. I meam, did you see the stink he raised when he was pulled from 200? If Conor was done dirty, we would hear about it. I do like your idea better though.

I'm no Conor fanboy or anything, but Aldo turned down the rematch. Plain as day. He had the chance, and he said no. I'll recognize him as the champ because I realize you can't hold up two divisions. But let's not rewrite history. Do you REALLY think the guy that faced Nate Diaz at 170 TWICE, was scheduled to fight RDA when his previous fight was when he still looked like a killer, and fought Alvarez-is running from a guy he KO'd in 13 seconds? That's just flawed logic. If there was money to be made in an Aldo fight (There's not), Conor would be all-too-eager to sign on the dotted line.

Small risk-big rewards situation for Conor. Aldo's fault was challenging Conor only to decline the offer when it was given to him. Being a dominant champ that he was & getting KO'd in 13 seconds might've damaged his psyche. I guess his team/management decided to take things slowly to find where Aldo's at & we found out after the Edgar rematch that he's never been better. I will give him a pass for that brain fart moment of brazilian machismo.

This is what Aldo had to say today:
"To me, I never stopped being champion," Aldo said. "I lost that fight because of an accident. I knew that I would win a rematch, that I would be champion again.
He also continues to call Conor a pussy.
I can't think of another champion in fight history, boxing or MMA, that ducked a rematch when offered. It's like he is too stupid to remember what actually happened and has too many buffoons around him to help refresh his memory. It's fine to be an arrogant prick if you WIN, but not to continue with it after you lose? Haha. This isn't the case of a Chael losing to Anderson Silva where he dominated and then got caught. It was funny when Chael did his facade of ignoring the actual results. But Aldo? This is the case of a fighter that pulled out of the fight once, let's not forget that point either. Conor smoked Mendes because Aldo tucked tail and wouldn't get in the ring. But, Aldo finally had no choice and the UFC would have stripped him, so he climbed in that ring and got humiliated. THEN he talked shit after the loss and said he wanted a rematch. He asked for it in December 2015. In Feb 2016 he gets his wish and declines. There has never been a champion more thoroughly owned in every sense of the word than Aldo. Conor owns him and will for the rest of his career.
With this level of disrespect and stupidity, I hope Conor never gives him another shot at PPV success and stardom. Aldo needs to be dunked in the swimming pool of humility and grovel before Conor should even acknowledge him.

Whats messed up is. Aldo isn't even the main event for this card. Its Holloway vs Pettis for a Interim belt that doesn't matter. I mean why even have it? They gave Aldo the title, there is no need for a interim. Is there? This is a #1 contender fight. That's it.
Peak, there is nothing wrong with defending your favorite fighter. Conor is probably my favorite fighter right now, But I think him not defending the title looks bad on him. Oh and yeah I agree with you, I think they could've handled the stripping Conor of the title much better.

I think Conor's new strategy is to wait for the UFC to respond to his public broadcast that he wants a piece of the company and he is taking a break. Him losing the title has been a forgone conclusion since they were talking about an announcement but the UFC wasn't going to do it before Conor fought Eddie.
Conor is awesome and proves these buffoons wrong all the time. What's not to like? I think his next fight is against Nate in summer 2017.

I think Aldo and Max need to fight for it, winner gets Pettis. I personally think Pettis should have to fight again. This whole thing is weird because Pettis vs Max is on December 10th and is still being called a fight for the interim belt. Yet, they are also calling Jose Aldo the undisputed champion and saying Aldo will fight the winner to unify the title? I guess in the end it doesn't matter and one of the three will be the "real" champion next year. Unless, of course, the winner of Max vs Pettis gets hurt and fucks this all up, or Aldo pulls out. That's probably 60% likely.

Waldo is dunzo.
NGAF about him anyway.
This is just a way for the UFC to get Pettis or Max as the champ and be rid of Waldo.
