Conor's fights are motivated by what makes the most sense as a business and not by who deserves what. So even though he 'needs' to defend the 145 belt, the Aldo fight wont make nearly as much as his other options.
From a business perspective, these are the fights that will produce the most money:
1. Nate Diaz III at 155 2. Tryon Woodly 3. Aldo II 4. Khabib
OR - what if he defended both belts in the same night?!?!?!

the two I think you left off that should be added:
Cowboy GSP
Those make the most money IMO. The Nate rematch as well.
They won't do Conor vs Khabib anytime soon, if at all.

Agree on the Cowboy fight - would love to see that and it would do very well. Forgot all about GSP - that would be huge.

Screw the 3rd Nate fight, let's see him against Nick.

I really hope its Aldo. The fight can do well, and it keeps Aldo around (hopefully). Ya, maybe some of the other fights would do better, but they will still be there if he does this fight.

John Kavanagh just told Ariel he wants Tony Ferguson or Nate Diaz next at 155.

They'll do Nate, and set up Tony/Khabib.
Put that all on the same card, would do well I think.

Now does Khabib take that fight is the question.
Anyone hear him refer to Dana as a bullshitter in his post fight interview? "Send the real contract to that bullshitter..." or something to that effect.

I have basically zero interest in Conor-Aldo 2. Aldo is not the killer he used to be. If Conor could fight 2010 Alod, yeah, I'd be up for that. But the guy that beat Frankie? I have no interest in that.

I have no interest in that. I just don't see how Aldo doesn't get knocked out again. Sure, he will last longer than 13 seconds but the ending will be the same, me thinks.

GSP by a mile. From a $ perspective, it would be gigantic, especially if in Canada, for GSP return.

a GSP fight will be nice. But fuck, at some point he has to either give up or defend the 145 belt.
Any fight at 155 should be considered last since he just fought at that weight class.

What's next is that HE GETS HIS SECOND FUCKING BELT!!!!!!!
Than after that I'd be interested in him vs Khabib. But if possible him vs Aldo 2. I'd like to see him defend both titles if he is able to.

Khabib is only a bad match up if Khabib can get him down.
Conor will murder Khabib on the feet like MJ was doing.
Taller fighters are Conor's weakness.
Cowboy, Nate and Tony are his hardest fights..
Or an explosive wrestler like Woodley.

I think Tyron is the big money fight. Not because Tyron's name is big or because people particularly want to see the two fight, but it would be legendary for someone to attempt to hold 3 belts simultaneously. Conor is going to sell regardless as he has been for a while now, so the fact of him gaining a third belt in the UFC is mind blowing. Not to mention, him and Tyron squaring off would be a pretty exciting fight to watch.
