So to accompany my last response, I'm trying to think of who Connor strikes most like.
I'm asking SPECIFICALLY, the angles he strikes from, his stance, how he avoids strikes, how he moves between ranges, etc.
His stance, the way he lands his punches and kinds of kicks he throws, everything about his striking seems to indicate a different style of martial art at work, not just the old familiar mix of attributes plus Muay Thai and boxing like most guys.
I think he does in fact have a bit of a Point-Karate style of striking and see quite a bit in common with the way Wonderboy strikes, and I think of the guys I am going to list that he has the most in common with either him, Venom Page or surprisingly, Machida.
There is NO WAY he'd be the fighter he is had he not done some Karate at some point and I think he must have done a LOT of it.
So which of this fighters do you see his striking having the most in common with??
In what ways do you see his style of striking as similar and/or different from these guys??

I actually think his style has the most in common with Michael "Venom" Page to be honest.
2nd most similar would be Wonderboy and 3rd most similar Machida and 4th Anderson.
A couple choices might seem odd like Sokodjou, but back when he knocked out Arona for example he did some crazy shit.
I remember Arona had a single leg and went to kick out Sok's leg and Sok HOPPED BACK ON ONE LEG OVER ARONA'S TRIP, then knocked him out with a weird kind of upper cut or two.
He had a very "sudden" way of knocking people out.
Romero is an odd one too, nothing at all like Connor, but he has a very unorthodox style in how he will throw some shots with like 30% power, then suddenly throw with 100% power, back to 60% etc, and seeming so relaxed and holding himself in an unusual way.
I know that Connor's style is NOTHING like Fedor's wild haymaekrs and "casting" style combat Sambo punches EXCEPT for the way in which he seems to SO SUDDENLY knock people out if you know what I mean.
So these are the most unorthodox strikers in MMA I could think of right now.
Or maybe there's some other past striker in MMA history who you see him as similar to?
I chose Venom Page because both of them have that pin-point accuracy and really have a "dance-like" rhythm to their striking.

Also, is there a way to see who voted for which option like there was on weekly?

People seem so much slower to respond here than weekly.
This could be a good discussion.
Surely SOMEONE sees similarities or differences in Connor's striking with some of these guys?
I gotta go do some Physical therapy on my own for my shredded ACLs for now.
This guy I see is really good, he's got me doing these exercises on my own 4 times a week to actually make the ACLs THEMSELVES stronger, not the muscles.
It's based on "Grey's Law", getting the ACL itself (well one is actually a cadaver hamstring and the other a graft from my own patella) more densely packed with cells to respond better to pressure and stress to the knees.

He is a boxer who is taller than most of his opponents. The leading with you head style then sitting back with a check hook is money.

He strikes old-school IMO. What Pat Barry's striking coach calls "Dynamic Striking" and he loves to bitch about how nobody uses it anymore. It's focus is inflicting as much damage as possible instead of focusing on points.

It's focus is inflicting as much damage as possible instead of focusing on points. He used almost like a tower approach since he's taller. Maintaining the center, lulling eddie with a lackadaisical approach and picking his shots.

I have to see this fight, anybody gotta link?
The one thing that stands out is his Anderson Silva-esque accuracy. Lanky southpaw that doesn't look like a lot of power but drops fools like dirty laundry because he is fast and accurate as shit. His crazy spin kicks and shit, I don't know.

One similarity to Anderson Silva is the expressionless look on his face.
Just very calm and calculating.

He counters very similar to a prime Anderson, with both guys having amazing timing reaction time and accuracy. That's the biggest reason for their power, both guys were also fantastic at taking advantage of their opponents own momentum to make their shots really count.
