Today it feels real to me that Budo is no longer with us. I talked to him for years about mma coming back to ny, and now that it is finally here, he isn't around to enjoy it. I met him a bunch of times for press conferences and open workouts in New York City. Today is the big UFC 205 press call conference at Madison square garden, no doubt if he was still here we would have met up and had a few beers afterwards. I will still be heading over to check it out, but will have to drink for 2 after. I miss you buddy.

I agree it sucks that a guy so passionate about the sport didn't get to see the day the UFC finally came to New York.
That being said, I refuse to look through rose-colored glasses. The day that guy left the boards was a good day. He was insufferable the last year or so. Before that, yeah, he stirred shit up and got talk going. But I think you all are forgetting how bad it was at the end. Don't treat this like a breakup where all you remember is the good pussy and forget the bad shit. That's how fellas end up getting back with a terrible woman.

I guess for me, I liked all the input on the forum and how active it was. Yes, he, among others, could be very annoying but at least it kept the MMA forum section going.
..but yeah, I know where you are coming from.

But I think you all are forgetting how bad it was at the end. Don't treat this like a breakup where all you remember is the good pussy and forget the bad shit. That's how fellas end up getting back with a terrible woman. A lot of people definitely disagreed with him and argued a lot. Besides both being from ny, in a lot of ways he and I were opposite types of mma fans, he was physically a big guy who loved karate based fighters as he trained in karate and tough it for years while I'm a 5'5 former wrestler. I met up with him a bunch of times and always had a really good time, so I got to know him beyond our little world. He used to text me to see how my kids were doing and things like that. So for me, he was the only person from the forums that I considered to be a genuine friend, a big reason is probably because I haven't met almost anyone else in real life. I did go to the press conference and it was nuts. I didn't realize that almost everyone around me were Irish until they asked Eddie a question. Everyone went crazy yelling and booing that you could barely hear questions for Eddie or his answers. For as much as I could hear, I thought Eddie was great, much better than I expected. After he ripped on the Irish and Connor for being late, Eddie just left and said to call him if Connor shows up. Connor finally gets there wearing what looks like pajama pants and a huge white mink coat proclaiming himself to be a fucking pimp. He grabbed Eddies belt and put it in front of him. Eddie comes back and grabs connors belt and puts it in front of him. They nearly brawl with Connor holding a chair and threatening to hit Eddie with it. Security calms it down and they just crush each other for the rest of the conference with a bunch of funny lines. There had to have been like 5 thousand people there too, it was just really cool and entertaining. The only other time I saw an atmosphere even close to it with a foreign fighter with so many crazy fans was when I went to the Felix Trinidad fight against pernell Whittaker at msg where the crowd mix was something like 15,000 Puerto Rican's, 3,998 blacks, and my friend Dino and I.

I get that Jason. I'm referring to Budo the poster, not Budo the man. I didn't know Budo the man. I expect everyone here to judge me as Duval, not Adam. You guys don't know Adam.
The only exception to that rule is Jackel. Fuck Jackel AND Angelo.

Budo never annoyed me. Even at the end before he left when he was on the warpath.
Budo was being Budo. That was his thing. I guess people took him too seriously.
