he is one scary looking dude. i don't think he will be able to fight anywhere outside of russia because of his criminal convictions and hep. there is 0 chance he will ever fight in the ufc. he is one of the better examples of wasted talent, the guy is huge, strong fast, athletic, hit very hard, etc...so much potential that he never lived up to because of his problems.

I agree. His combination of hand speed and power was awesome to see.

Yeah, he has great striking and power, but his ground game was always non existent.
Even Fedor had a lot of holes in his ground game, but Alex had many more.
He's the kind of guy who would always lose to a good grappler who was able to make it past his punches and secure a solid takedown and position, but if you can't and are forced to stand and trade with him, unless you are Crocop or another amazing striker, you are usually in a lot of trouble.
He's fucking terrifying.
I can't imagine all the things he's probably done in his past, but I guarantee he's killed more than one person, raped, probably committed just about every kind of major crime maybe short of treason lol.
I'd love to read a biography about him is someone ever writes one but I doubt they will.

That was true of nearly every HW when he was competing. A list of all the well-rounded HWs from the 2004-2007 time period would not be a long list. Alex E was great fun to watch.

What legit opponent would risk a fight with Alex? I would imagine even his blood dripping in your eye could spread Hep C. I can't see a legit org taking on the liability.

Well, it wasn't true of Nogueira or Barnett, both had good standing and good ground game. Most others were lacking in some area though.
