This is huge, surprised it isn't bigger news. Outages worldwide from a DDoS attack on DYN who is one of the largest DNS hosts. We saw this coming, some people like Schneier even last month said it was coming soon. The lead up to this was so overt that you almost have to wonder if this is just the first step in something.

Spotify, Netflix, Paypal, and Reddit all went down on the East Coast.
Three days ago the CIA mentioned that they were initiating a cyber attack on Russia, to which Russia responded with "If you want war, you will have war everywhere." Looks like they made good on their threat.
If this doesn't get coverage, it will just get swept under the rug. Mostly because attacks like this only serve to help Trump's case for the presidency.

Well this looks more like China than Russia supposedly. This was written last month www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2016/09/someone_is_lear.html

So I think China makes sense too just based on timing and everything. This recent shit in the South China Sea in an attempt to delay their financial collapse, it is basically a shot across the bow saying let us do what we want to do or we'll knock out the internet.
