Cool. I couldn't remember if I've ever seen a pic of them together. But yeah, I wouldn't post it either even if I remember seeing one. So its settled. It's not a catfish job. Maybe she cares for him like you do when you care about a puppy. or maybe, like any catfish, every photo is bullshit! That MTV showed some people with about 20 aliases lying about multiple identities with photos and cover stories that seem plausible as fuck.

Angelo, I know most people are going to give you shit for it. But I am curious. What in this world was going to get you that amount of money in two years? That's Doctor/Lawyer type money. In the end it wouldn't have been that much, drastically less more than likely. Granted the more recent years of my life have been pretty shitty, but I was working for most of my life. The the plus side (and the downside to growing up with a family restaurant), you start work early and you meet people. Between that, college, traveling, work I did during/after college especially I've made a lot of connections. People I worked with towards the end of college when I was designing agricultural forecast models for futures trading knew that. I'd get the occasional call for a fresh pair of eyes on some project or other, basically consulting but I was doing it for free because I had a job at the time. So a couple years ago I started making the calls to see if anyone needing some consulting so I could get a paycheck. I got a little bit here and there, but not much. Anyways last 40 months have had a series of consults where I didn't get paid. The reason for that number, that is the total among all of them added up I would have made in consultant fees that they agreed to. I wouldn't have wound up with that number though because a few of them were startups and was going to give me a salaried job when all was said and done. So given the order of when that bad luck of people fucking me over started, I probably would have only wound up with 65k in fees and a 55k/yr salary because I most likely would have stopped looking for consulting gigs. The one I lost the most on though, including the friendships, I should be more pissed, but a lot of people besides me got fucked over on that, some of them lost actual millions when all was said and done. I would also like to hear about the two friendships you lost over that deal. Again, not really trying to f#ck with you (well, maybe a bit, but you know me. I usually don't come at you hard). Just want to hear the details........... Well basically I had them do some work for the project and lined them up with new jobs that they wanted. When it all fell apart they were absolutely pissed, rightfully so, I shouldn't have had others put that much work in without a contract guaranteeing something.

As for the NDNC agreement, it was for a management job on a team developing a new firearm. I was in contention for the job because I worked with who was to be the lead designer/engineer in the past, and they also I think wanted to try and use me for a family friend who could have landed some sale contracts with Israel and France.
I don't even know if they went forward with it, if they did they went with all new people. Best guess is they pivoted to a different project because of the political atmosphere.

Do you get an allowance from Sporty? Give us insight in how you fund beer drinking and any hobby, or even how you buy toothpaste now that you have nee unemployed for all of these years. If you can give specifics on your allowance, I would like to hear it. I give my kids an allowance but they have to contribute and do chores, which they often find unfair. I can compare and contrast with your situation.

What was your degree in college? You went from agricultural forecasting to firearms design. BSc in Crime Law Justice, which at the time was basically a cross between Sociology, Criminology and Pre-Law. I switched to that because it was easy and let me take other classes I found interesting while working. I personally wish that after the hospitals said that I wouldn't be considered for a job in the ER because of the liability of my hearing, that I didn't bounce around majors and instead just switched to BioChem and went into research. I found that too boring of a life at the time though, stupid me. I know fuck all about firearm design (I mean I did make myself learn a bit for that job, but nothing much, I was there to manage). My dad has traded on the futures market since before I was born, I used to love watching him study his charts and what not. He gave me my own mini account when I was in the 6th grade (first year of middle school where I lived) and taught me patterns to look for. Was just one of those hobbies all my life that I became decent at. Decent enough that I managed to get paid to develop and fine tune indicators. If I can ever afford to get access to TradeStation again, I wouldn't mind re-learning EasyLanguage. I'm still pissed I never got to finish working on that model, I remember I was waiting on a bunch of data from early 1900s that wasn't in the system I was using at the time so I had to request it.

real talk and I have told jackel this in the past: The federal government hires deaf people. Shit loads of them. You qualify under schedule A as an excepted appointment for tons and tons of jobs and that special hiring authority can get you in the door for tons of different opportunities. It's quicker, it'e easier and we have many who bend over backwards trying to fill with schedule A because we get wounded vets and anyone with a disability that wants to work. The government pays for and makes the accommodation(s). www.usajobs.govGet your resume built and start looking by zipcode.

I thanked you when you showed me this last time, and I keep checking for updates. So far the only job opening since you told me about that, that I was qualified for that was listed was actually full and it wasn't updated. They had a janitor job that required 4 years experience in janitorial services at one point! 4 years experience when the only thing in the job description that required any sorta more than common sense is using a floor buffer. Now that is for my area. As I've said in the past I've found work in other places, but nothing that pays enough to afford a place and food. I know someone who is willing to live with me to cut costs once their current lease is up, but I have no idea yet where they are gonna wind up moving to, either NC or Florida and then I have a place I can actually move to.

I showed you two things: one for contract work and one for the federal government. Both hire those with disabilities but the link here is for federal jobs. USAJOBS.gov will not have janitorial jobs as those are contracted out.

HOW IN HELL DOES ANYONE IMPOSE (much less attempt to enforce) A NONDISCLOSURE/NO COMPETE CLAUSE?
Against someone who was NEVER an employee?
Try again. We're listening. Sort of, anyway...

Lots of places make you sign a ND/NC during the hiring process. I had to have people sign them before when we were interviewing coders for a job because the process exposed them to proprietary information. Well I had to have them sign a Nondisclosure, not the no compete. I think the no compete in this case was to prevent people from saying no to the job and starting up their own firm using their designs and ideas.

Can't believe you guys haven't caught on... Guy does a little bit of hustling... Not that there's anything wrong with that.
You can't live the lifestyle he talks about with a one person salary.
Or his parents have cash... Again, not that there's anything wrong with that either.

Yeah all those are more than 3 hours away, and I have no problem doing that work though. No way I can take those jobs unless I had a vehicle still. I put in my zipcode and the radius at 50 miles (that covers more than even public transit will get me to) and even then nope none that I qualify for. There were a few, but required enlistment which I can't do. There was a COS position I know I can do but I don't have anywhere near their requirements to apply.

I mean this with he utmost respect. What in the holy fuck is going on? Honestly I have horrible fucking luck out of nowhere. If I was a hippy I'd say it some sorta cosmic re-balancing for the insane awesome luck I had before. It has gotten to the point that even friends of mine laugh at it and feel bad. Looks like something good gonna finally happen and they'll laugh and say just wait, this is you we are talking about. Granted I made stupid decisions (that I don't really regret though because of the experiences) and lived life sorta fast and loose taking work I found interesting and/or fun rather than the money. I blew my money mostly on others because I was always content with food on the table and a place to live and I liked to see others have a good time when they weren't as well off as I was. Though I suppose part of that is I always felt I had a safety net, the family restaurant to go back to. I also knew my inheritance would have been enough to open a small place of my own and I could have supported myself off of that. I didn't expect my uncle stealing from it to the point it had to shut down and all of us grandchildren had to watch our inheritance be used to pay bills he racked up while pocketing the money.

At some point you have to chalk up your "bad luck" to "bad decisions". You also could probably use to grab life by the balls and make it happen for yourself. But...you've got video games to play and television shows to binge. Oh and food to cook at certain temperatures and sauces to make. You are a walking excuse. I know the type, it's always someone else's fault, or bad luck or this or that.
When you can look in the mirror, realize that you are not where you want to be and it's no one else's fault...maybe fault isn't the right word...it's not because of anyone else but yourself where you are at in life right now. It's all on you. Not your uncle, not your family, not anyone. Take it from someone that took 6+ years of their life to take care of a sick family member...I'll tell you all about bad luck, fairness and others faults...it's all bullshit. You make the best of your situation or you simply don't. It's that fucking easy.
But hey, Luke Cage season 1 was epic titty bombers, amirite?

Peak is learning all sorts of new things today. Ain't that the truth.
Man, I guess everything was happening in the OD for the past years.
Why the hell is everyone giving Jackel a hard time? Especially if he's deaf? The dude probably had a pretty rough time through life but he seems like a smart guy that went on to get his college degree.
From what I have read, he doesn't seem to have any kids so it's not like he is being a deadbeat dad. If he's not working but still somehow managing, more power to him, no?
I just don't get why everyone is coming down so hard on this guy?
...but again, I wasn't around the OD.
I am all for people getting into debates but it sucks to see so many dudes jumping on this guy.
Maybe it's all just tough love?
Vale, what you did was definitely a stand-up thing to do. Don't get me wrong. It would be strange, though, to pack up, head to another state, and go work for a guy that you don't know and just had an ebeef with days ago.
I don't know, maybe I am just feeling sensitive without coffee.....beer.....ugh.

So Jackel, you are deaf? Don't worry, it's not a loaded question. I just didn't know that until reading this today I use the term deaf-ish nowadays. As of 11 years ago (because SS office didn't send my most recent one to me like they said they would 4 years ago), officially it is profound sloping sensorineural hearing loss starting at 1k in right ear and 500 in left ear. Every few years it deteriorates more (more rapidly last 2 years which has me worried). I may need to rely on ASL inside of 10 years in a worst case scenario. My speech discrimination at 60dB was 36% in left ear, 60% in right ear. It got much worse since then obviously. That is the tests results, put that into reality and speech discrimination actually increases/decreases depending on the situation. If it is with someone I'm used to talking with so I know their body language, expression, tone, tempo, the way they speak, I can do very well as long as not a lot of background noise. If it with someone I don't know, I could be saying what every other word. It is annoying because consider this sample of sounds with "normal" speech For me to hear it "normally" (as of 11 years ago) In my left ear, anything to the right of the 500 mark needs to be above 50 decibels, 65 past the 1k, 100+ from 2k on. In my right ear, anything to the right of the 1000 line needs to be at 65 decibels, 90+ from 2k on. And of course that assuming a straight dB-Hz correlation, it differs from person to person. I find for instance Russians and Germans tend to be more lower Hz in average making it easier for me. In general people speak in the 50-60dB range (dropping to the 30-40dB range for nor non-vowels and hard sounds). So yeah that an issue. Oh of course all that is assuming a quiet room too. Any background noise at all makes it harder to register the sounds properly.

You weren't around the OD. I used to just skip over a lot of it and then when I started engaging a bit I realized why everyone was down on him.
I feel you. It's a big risk for someone. That being said...many posters on here have met me. Some have done business with me. I'm pretty sure he knows one of them. And I did say it would just be for 60 days so he only really needed to bring one bag with him. Once again, I was just trying to help someone out that claimed they were so down and out they were close to suicide. If you think I really wanted to explain to my chick that we were going to be helping someone out...I wasn't looking forward to that convo.
And ebeefing is just the way of the OD. It is what it is my man.
