Read on the IG that Conor may have been KOed in sparring today...
Anyone got the scoop?

Kavanagh apparently tweeted that "not everything you read on the internet is true". Either way, Eddie isn't the guy you want to fight with a recently popped jaw. I hope it's b.s. just for the sake of seeing a good fight.

Don't know if it is true, but the kind of training Conor likes, it happens. I caught an elbow training that way that was the worst KO of my life.

I really hope not. I've gotten to the point where I care more about Conor's fights than any other, so I'm hoping for a good scrap.

Coach denied it?
Then it must be true.

So why is this a big deal? I heard fighters get KO'd in training all the time. Is it because you guys think the Eddie fight will be off?

Aw shit, yeah, broken nose. That will definitely cancel the fight.

Probably around the time Matt Hamill came up to the UFC? That dude was an inspiration.

I wasn't afraid of it getting called off, but you definitely don't want to suffer a KO a month out from a fight with a heavy hitter like Alvarez. Not good for Conor who has proven to have a very good chin.

Got you. And yes I can't imagine getting KO'd will be good before a fight. The least it can do is shake your confidence.

What bothers me is his coach addressed it which gives me an uncomfortable feeling that it could have happened.

My sources tell me that TOIAP hasn't washed his hair since Tapout last turned down a Twinkie.
1999. It was 1999.

What were you "training" for? No way this ain't a lie. What do you think got me into MMA. My mother put me in Taekwondo in 92'. The Sabumnim there would after class show tapes of Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and various events. With UFC popping up just over a year later (and it was big in my area for some reason, we'd have viewing parties at my grandfather's and sometimes my aunt's place, probably because of the black box so nobody had to pay). Seeing that stuff got me real interested so I left where I was in 94' and started learning and training at a new place that did Kenpo primarily but also taught Judo, Jujutsu, BJJ, and I don't know the names of the Bo and Sword styles they taught as I didn't bother training those. I stopped when I went off to college. I would go to some sparring and grapple sessions over summer break but I haven't been inside a place now in 9 years? And since moving to STL I've helped a friend of ours here with some grappling (he needed practice against someone smaller) but that was it. In some ways I miss it, but given my recent tendency to get injured, probably best I don't anymore. Don't know why that is surprising, I have to imagine most of us here have trained or still do at one point or another.

So why is this a big deal? I heard fighters get KO'd in training all the time. Is it because you guys think the Eddie fight will be off? Well isn't it obvious? If you get knocked out, your brain isn't fixed as soon as you wake up. Ask Marvin Eastman why it's not a good idea to get knocked out in sparring before your fight. My initial reaction on the rumour was "let's see what his coaches' reaction is?" and sure enough he comes out with the classic "not everything on the internet is true!" Which, by its nature makes it more likely to have happened.
