Wilson ave??? Jesus, that's right next to where I'm talking about. Not sure what's there now, but there was a chinese food place on the first floor of his building. On the corner was a spanish package store. Across the street was a spanish dance club.......I realize I just described about 500 different neighborhoods in New York, but yeah this place was between Wilson ave and Kickerbocker something or other. I remember there being an alley way that had a big sign that said "No Dumping" and of course the alley was just loaded with trash and old furniture and shit, haha LOL yup. That's my old hood. Half my family still lives around that way. But I'm telling you, its wayyyyyy different now. How funny is that? You would have definitely still been there when I was, because this was pre-9-11. We went shopping at Downtown Brooklyn and every corner people were trying sell me a mix tape, or a pager ........fuck I'm old

I prefer thin crust but can eat and enjoy ANY pizza. If someone has pizza hut, dominoes, costco, or whatever, I will eat it.
Had Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix about 10 years ago after reading about it, and found it excellent but not earth shattering. Waiting about 2 hours in 100+ degree heat and they only have water, mineral water, coke in a bottle and might have had beer but I don't recall. Try it if in Phoenix to see what you think as it's been getting rave reviews for 15-20 years. Weird that they didn't serve diet coke.
My favorite pizza is Filippi's in San Diego. Pepperoni and extra cheese - it's pretty heavy and two pieces will fuck you up, but the combination of their sauce and cheese is outstanding.
Local, I am down with Blaze pizza where you walk in and order your own toppings and they fire it up and an individual and serve you. I switch it up and try them all - from the white sauce, mozzarella balls bacon, garlic and oregano to the red sauce with peppers, garlic, parmesan, basil.

I eat a lot of pizza. I tend to get the Greek pizza if trying a new place. But I am a fan of a lot of the "newer" styles as well. My favorite around here is from a place a few miles up the road called Alfredo's. They make an Aegean pizza that replaces the spinach in a Greek pizza with artichoke hearts and replaces the feta with pesto sauce. They put so many vegetables on and the pesto sauce is so thick that my wife and I can't finish a large one in one night by ourselves. They also make a lobster pizza, but it's kinda bland and not very good.
I one upped their idea of lobster pizza a few weeks ago. Just took a rising crust shell, put the rest of the lobster from my birthday on it, covered the lobster with american cheese and baked it until the cheese melted. Then I put Hollandaise sauce over the top of the cheese. It was really good. Not really a pizza at all, but still delicious.
Frozen pizza- Screamin Sicilian's Mambo Italiano's sauce is some of the best I've had on frozen pizza. Urban Pie Company's Alfredo Crimini Mushroom/Caper pizza is also worth the six bucks.

Yeah on lazy nights or real late nights, we get that Screamin Sicilian. There also a local take-n-bake one that is really good for the same price.

I kept getting "suggested Facebook post" about Urban Pie. But they never sold them in Florida. Then one day, I found them at Walmart and got pretty fucking excited. I tried the Mushroom/Capers one. The Capers flavor was too intense for me, but I can see how someone that likes capers will love it. I see they make a chicken sausage one that I might try out.

No, local grocery chain here, Schnuk's has a take and bake they offer, their supreme was great. Last year though something about it changed and it isn't as good anymore.

Grew up in NYC, the mecca of pizza. And to this day, the best pizza ive ever had was from Alex's Pizza, in Biddeford Maine. Small, pan, thin crust, pepp, bacon, and sausage, cooked in their older ovens. You have to ask for it to be cooked in their old oven. Love that place.

Last year though something about it changed and it isn't as good anymore. I forgot about Papa Murphy's because the closest one to me is 160+ miles away in Orlando. But I use to get it all the time in Kansas City. The Mediterranean Chicken pizza is one of my top 5 pizzas ever. About 4 month ago, I was in Orlando and brought one to bake it at home here in Palm beach. After not having it for 3 years, it was a fucking orgasmic experience. For those not familiar, Papa Murphy's is a take and bake pizza place. Think of a Subways, where they build your pizza right there in front of you and you take it ho me to bake. You can add whatever you want with different sauces. But they also have some recipes, including that Mediterranean chicken that I love. www.papamurphys.com/menu#menuBannerPopup

The chicken sausage one is pretty good too, very different from the mushroom. The peppers mix well with the sausage, it's just not my favorite from them. I think I've had all of their's except for the pepperoni one, because pepperoni pizza is pepperoni pizza, I don't care how you try to repackage or redress it. I haven't bought a pepperoni pizza in a very long time.

Worth the trip to Biddo...if you're in Saco. I hung out with the same group of guys growing up. From ages 10 til 18, Alex's Pizza was what was for dinner on Friday night. My in-laws still consider it their go-to place for when everyone comes to their house. Not sure what it is about their pizza that is so good because it's so basic, but it is frigging delicious.

Great concept. Love that you can have as many toppings as you want and it won't change the price. In a previous post I mentioned this Mediterranean Chicken pizza at Papa Murphy's that is one of my top 5 favorites of all time. I was able to recreate a pretty decent copy using Blaze ingredients. Pesto Sauce, a mix of Mozzarella, Parmesan and Feta, grilled chicken and spinach. The only thing missing was the sun dried tomatoes from the other place. But I'll say that this was about a 90% reproduction of that other pizza.

This thread makes me so damn hungry lol. I try to stay away from pizza but I love the stuff, always have. My cheat days when I can pig out are usually spent far away from any decent pizza these days.
I do love me a bbq style pizza too. Bbq sauce, chicken, purple onion, cilantro... I know I'm forgetting something.

I still get the evil eye when I try to explain to people that truly good pizza doesn't really need anything on it. When you have a good local place, like we grew up with, a plain slice is sometimes the best thing in the world. I still like specialty slices on occasion. Chicken parm, sausage/pep/onion is probably my favorite. I'm also ashamed to admit that I will occasionally eat a hawaiian slice with ranch, but I'm just a fat kid so...

I can happily get down with most pizza toppings, but I am a big fan of extra garlic on top of whatever other toppings. Simple pepperoni and extra garlic is pretty winning. Maybe add some bacon. There is also a place near me that makes an amazing Chicken Parm pie. Just down the street I have a Chicago style deep dish spot that is the favorite of most in the area. It's good, but not my favorite...just too much damn pizza per slice.
