Tow poker players wagered $100K one on being able to stay in solitary confinement for 30 days. Here are the parameters:
1. A room with a bed, laundry machine, fridge (without light), shower, bathtub, toilet 2. NO LIGHT emitting devices of any kind 3. No contact with outside world 4. Food is delivered every 3rd to 6th day and it's changed up so the person can't get a read on time 5. No clock/calendar or any way to track time 6. No drugs and tested before going in
The lack of a clock is HUGE. 30 days sitting in the dark would totally fuck with your head and you would never know what time it is or how many days/hours you have left.
Could you do it? Would you risk $100K to try?

I read an article where a dude did this for a detox type deal. They pay a resort to keep them in the dark for 30 days. He said he was hallucinating and everything else. I dont know that I do not possess the willpower to do it voluntarily. Maybe for 7 figures I would try.

I'm wondering what food and how he gets it.
Fucking gamblers! Sick twisted shit! Something I'd probably bet some of my friends I had mad cash. I'd love to see the negotiations of how it went down.

The thing I like about sensory deprivation tanks is that you can get out.
So, hell no.

I don't think I could do it, and wouldn't even think about it for $100,000. I am guessing it would feel like about 3 months, and the whole time I would be wondering "what if they just leave me here for a whole year and the jokes on me"? I think I would mindfuck myself within a week

I'm poor af. I'd do it. I'll probably be able to write 2 album's worth of material and write a book about it.

I think I would be above average at this challenge and also fail miserably within the first week, if not within the first 72 hours. I'll click on the link and read more now but if you had some practice with meditation and other techniques, you might be able to stretch it a bit longer more easily.

I dont need to go batshit crazy, especially not over 100k.
Maybe in my early 20s I would have given it consideration, but at this point in my life, not a chance.

I think the people who say they would do it or underestimating the mental torture that this would do on your brain. I have spent 10 hours sitting in a hunting blind staring at open fields, and the first time I did it I had no clock on me. The day literally seemed like 60 hours as it passed slowly, and that was with quite a bit of mental stimulation. The idea of darkness and no ability to engage your brain is so daunting I can't believe anyone would come out of it unscathed mentally.

Food every 3 to 6 days. I guess you can keep track of every food delivery At the very least, you will be done after the 10th delivery. Lots sooner if a couple of 6 day deliveries are thrown in.

I don't have 100k to wager, but if I could put up 10K for 100, I would strongly consider it while spending 24 hours in such conditions

Like premier said, the food delivery schedule is the saving grace and would be my entire focus. But, with absolutely nothing to do and sensory deprivation, 720 hours is a LONG time. I would NOT wager 100K on it and think I would only attempt it for a much larger sum.

News flash: bet ended after 20 days and they agreed on $62,500 buyout the captive won. Looks like he could hear workers and that allowed him to time his days. Total sensory deprivation didn't occur here since he had a small form of a 24 hour clock, which is super important. Note the photo in the link is NOT legit as he didn't not have a window with sunshine - if he did it would be easy to count days. www.cardschat.com/news/rich-alati-wins-62k-in-early-settlement-of-solitary-confinement-bet-75353Rich Alati has been allowed back into the world, as his $100,000 prop bet with Rory Young that saw him attempt to stay in a dark and isolated room for 30 days was ended early after the two men reached an agreement. The deal came 20 days into the challenge, with Young telling The Action Network that he agreed to pay Alati $62,400 to end the bet. Young Negotiates After Alati Rejects Initial Offer According to Young, negotiations began after he entered the room to perform a food delivery and found that Alati was in good spirits. Initially, Young offered $25,000 in exchange for allowing Alati to leave the room immediately. But that offer was quickly rejected, and the final payout amounted to nearly two-thirds of the original bet. According to Young, he still felt like he had made a good deal, saving some money on what was beginning to look like a certain loss. “At the last food drop, he was stronger than ever,” Young told The Action Network. “I underestimated his mindset, his resolve. I’m not disappointed I made the bet, I thought I had the better side, but he has exceeded all my expectations.” According to Young, Alati had a fairly good idea of how long he had been in the room, something that may have helped him keep his eye on the prize. Many people thought that prolonged solitary confinement would lead Alati to overestimate how much time he had spent in isolation, but Young said that Alati revealed he could tell night from day due to some faint sounds that alerted him to when people were landscaping nearby. Contract Details Rules for Isolation Bet The rules of the prop bet saw Alati live under constant surveillance at an undisclosed location in Las Vegas. He was not allowed to leave the room, could not have any electronics, drugs, or alcohol, and was not allowed any human interaction. However, he could have any food he wanted – delivered at 3-6 day intervals, as to make it more difficult for Alati to keep track of time – and was provided with a bed and bathroom facilities. Both men put up $100,000 for the even money bet. The bet was governed by an 11-page contract that was obtained by The Action Network. According to a report by the sports betting site, the contract absolved Young from responsibility for any maladies suffered by Alati, up to and including “death, disability, blindness, diminished vision, loss of any eye function,” and more. A three-person arbitration panel was established in case there were any disputes about the wager. The language in the contract reflects concerns raised by Young and many commentators that such a long time in darkness could have a permanent impact on Alati’s vision. However, Dianna Seldomridge, MD, the clinical spokesperson for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, told PocketFives that there was no need to worry. “There’s really no risk to his eyes. The eye is a really, really interesting organ, and it has both light-adapted and dark-adapted states,” Seldomridge told PocketFives. “There’s no danger to his eye, but he just may be a teeny bit light sensitive as his eyes readjust to going back to the light.” Many observers also pointed out that extreme isolation can have severe mental health impacts, with the UN even condemning the use of solitary confinement as punishment. But experts told PocketFives that this probably wouldn’t be the case for Alati. “It probably matters that he chose this, rather than having it done to him,” said Dr. Joel Dvoskin, a clinical and forensic psychologist who teaches at the University of Arizona. “I think the point [that] you never know how you’re going to deal with something until you experience it is probably true.” Related Posts

Yeah pretty much nailed it I did 90 days in a city jail that all they had was 3 cells all were empty the whole time I was there but for like 2 days, they didn't really sentence people to time there unless you pissed of the judge which I did most people they sent to county. Lots of sleep push ups and jerking off
