What's your pleasure?
I'm a bourbon guy. I really enjoyed Four Roses single barrel, run a about 42 bucks. I also like Issac Bowman. It is finished in a port barrel. It's pretty amazing. I just splurged and bought a 750 ml bottle of whistle pig, it runs about 80 bucks. I have to say. I think Isaac Bowman has the best flavor out of all of them and is right in the middle as far as price goes.

Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.
My go to drink was always whisky. Gimme a bottle of wild turkey and I'll be ok.

Crown royal is my favorite. Costco sells a knockoff that is Kirkland purple label that is identical for 30% off.

I was hooked on the Crown Apple for a long time. Was the only liquor I would drink straight. Now that I've found some of these bourbons, that is no longer the case.

Rum was my go to because it was cheap.

Agree with OP. Four roses is really nice bourbon for the price. I lean more toward the small batch version than I do the single barrel version though. I’ve visited the dickell distillery a few times and might be biased due to that, but I really like their no. 12 . Blantons is quite nice and knob creek small batch is tough to beat as well. Found a nice review of fine bourbons < 50 $ and recently got some high west American prairie . Am yet to try.
For scotch , I like the peaty offerings from islay. Laphroig 10. Bruichlaiddich special peated editions. The best peaty islays are ardbeg though. Also a great visit. Ardbeg 10 is damn good. Their nicer versions like eugidial are excellent too. It’s crazy how complex they get with lots of varied flavors that sound weird, but go together well— chii. Charcoal. Bacon. Coffee. Dark chocolate. Seaweed. Brown sugar.
For non islay, I Ike glenfarclas. Deanston. The nicer glenfiddiches. Glengoyne. Any Ben romachs .
Irish- can never go wrong with any bushmills. Jameson’s new cask mates aged in stout barrels is quite good. Red breast is excellent.
Japanese stuff is getting popular too. Suntory hibiki is damn good by hard to find. The readily available suntory in the flat bottle is good
And the greatest surprise I’ve had in over 5 years of whiskey is the Japanese nikka whiskey. Their “coffey malt” is excellent. It’s a blend, but remains complex and delicious. Must must try for anyone exploring whisky.

You know this isn't an MMA forum anymore when Proper 12 wasn't the 1st reply.

You know this isn't an MMA forum anymore when Proper 12 wasn't the 1st reply. Proper 12 is terrible whiskey. A friend ordered a bottle of it and we drank it at the Chiefs game last week. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I usually stick to Jack or Knob Creek as my sipping whiskey these days, although suntori is gaining steam. When I was younger I drank enough Crown to drown a horse. Been into Jameson as well.

I stopped drinking about a year ago. Not a conscious decision, it just kinda happened. One weekend there just wasn't time and it's been weed ever since if anything at all.
I used to love Laphroaig. The old man used to have two fingers of their 18 every Friday night.

I also went on about a year hiatus from the sauce. It also, was not planned, it just didnt sound good any longer. Felt I was forcing em down.
I have gone back to it though, I enjoy social drinking.
For me I like a rye whiskey these days. Templeton is my go to. They make a good 4 year and a solid 6 year.

Eagle Rare has been my thing lately. Also like Woodford Reserve.
I like mixing crown with ginerale as well.

I haven't drank since 1979. Never missed it because I never really liked it.
None of that dangerous-drug stuff for ME, y'know...

I love scotch. Favourites being Dalwhinnie and Caol Ila. Any single malt is preferable, but I can enjoy blended as well. I've tried many, many Irish whiskeys and love them as well. I haven't tried Proper 12, but will try it when it becomes available in Canada.
I also love tequila, particularly when I get my wife to do a couple shots with me before dragging her to bed.
I really don't drink mixed drinks much anymore, but gin and tonics with a slice of lime are my go to.

I only drink a handful of times a year these days. It can range from shooting tequila, vodka, whisky, or even beer. My fav is Crown Royal though.

The Kirkland stuff is decent, but I wouldn't call it identical to Crown. If you're a penny pincher, it isn't terrible though.

Canadian Club tastes like crown to me.
I stay away from the hard liquor except as a sexual aide. I was a teenage drunk, and quit at age 20. I didnt get drunk maybe 4 times between the ages of 20 and 30. Unfortunately, hard liquor still has the strong effect in me, of becoming very very delicious after the 2nd one, and it's easy for me to lose track and get extraordinarily drunk, extraordinarily quickly, completely by accident. Just because I don't really count, or measure; just add booze to taste, which becomes 90% [guzzle]"mmm, that's good....oh, it's empty?" [make other] "Whooohohaaa, I'm shfucked up"
I developed that propensity as a teenager, and unfortunately created a lifetime "inability" to moderate. About 5 years ago, one night I decided to have a whiskey drink from the bottle I had had for about 5 years. Next thing I knew I had drunk it all and was cranking tunes, shitfaced, by myself. Pathetic. Getting shitfaced affects you for days. Alcohol causes your testosterone to crater, for one, which explains the snarkiness and bitchy attitude from all the drunks I know

I've had an unopened bottle of Maker's Mark sitting on my countertop for the last 3 years.
The apocalypse is gonna have to hurry up and get here so I finally have an excuse to crack it open.
