Till was likely really hurting from not being able to fill up after his weight cut. He was at a big disadvantage..

I didn't care who won. I was bored with the fight. Best part of the fight for me was Til's walkout. LOL
Both wanted to win but neither fought to win

General consensus is that WB won. Casual fans look at it like the UFC doesn’t care if guys are overweight and they aren’t punishing the offenders much.
I bet from here on out you’re going to see more guys turn down fights when a guy comes in overweight.

Would make sense because the advantage really is huge, why fight feeling like shit and depleted, when your opponent is much more comfortable? Problem is, the fighters will have to choose from the fighter that never backs down mentality, to a man looking out for his career mentality.

More proof that same day weighins will solve the problem.

Apparently, Till lost his vision while trying to cut the weight.

Apparently, Till lost his vision while trying to cut the weight. The video of his weight cut was pretty chilling. I can't see Till staying at WW much longer.

What was the "family emergency"?

What was the "family emergency"? I wouldn’t be too surprised if they put that whole thing together to save face. Why else would Till be okay with one of his team mates putting out footage that would otherwise make him look bad? My guess is that they knew he was going to miss weight, so they put together a video of him dying to make weight but getting interrupted by an emergency. Just a guess though..

Looks like they are going to get rid of early weigh-ins... Per Dana.
Going back to the way things were.

There are more chances a fighter dies with same day weigh-ins during a fight than cutting weight.

You could be right, but I'm not so sure. The video was released by Paddy Power, a gambling website that sponsors Till. I believe they were filming him throughout fight week for promotional stuff. The video was quickly taken down, but it did garner a lot of negative attention for weight-cutting in the UFC. I imagine Dana was not happy about the video being released.

When I read your posts, I realize what being wrong looks like all the time. Same day weighins will eliminate weight cutting issues and level the playing field. You're a fucking idiot if you think same day weigh ins will solve anything! They will still cut weight. Back in 1982 Duk Koo Kim cut 23 pounds to fight Ray Mancini with same day weigh ins. Kim died from injuries suffered in that fight, which is when they moved the weigh ins to the day before. Fighting dehydrated can lead to more concussions brain damage, kidney damage and heart failure. That's why they changed it to early weigh ins. To allow more time to hydrate since IVs are now banned. It's the people who aren't professional that can't do it properly. Sure the amount of people not making weight increased but the majority still make weight and you shouldn't have to punish the majority for the behavior of a few unprofessionals. It's simple, if you don't make weight, you can no longer fight at that weight class. More weight classes is another, you don't see that many boxers not making weight. There are plenty of other intelligent ideas, same day weigh is the dumbest one of them all. That's why no commission even suggest it. You have to be the dullest crayon in the box... How do you tie your shoes in the morning? Velcro?

Same day weigh ins will absolutely solve the issue.
If you don’t understand why, I doubt explaining it to you will help.

They are reverting to the "old" system so fighters weigh in the afternoon of the day PRIOR. This is NOT same day weigh-ins, lol. Yes, you have been preaching this is what you want for many years but that doesn't mean its ever going to happen.

The window for getting back to normal is smaller. They’ll have to be more on point.

I think what’s going to happen is 1. The fighters are going to have more time to cut now since their deadline is pushed closer to the fight, and 2. They are going to have less time to rehydrate and get all their carbs and essential micronutrients in. It’s likely a double edged sword. Some may cut less to avoid coming in too weak, and others will continue to push the limits, regardless of when the weigh in takes place. Closer to fight = more dangerous..
Just because fewer fighters will miss weight now, doesn’t eliminate the health hazard, all it does is make the company and fighters APPEAR to be more professional. If that’s what you care about and consider a win, Loco, then rock on.

You’re on the right track when you said fighters will cut less weight due to less time to rehydrate.

You’re on the right track when you said fighters will cut less weight due to less time to rehydrate. Possibly, but I also believe that there will be more cases of serious health issues as well. Again, double edged sword. May benefit some and hurt others, so who’s to say which is better? The rules and regulations are in place, instead of trying to make a perfect world, just drop the hammer on violators.

The rules and regulations are in place, instead of trying to make a perfect world, just drop the hammer on violators. There’s basically a slap on the wrist for missing weight. As long as they’re able to still fight, with a small purse deduction, it will continue to happen, especially if they gain the advantage.
