I always enjoyed watching Carwin fight and thought he retired too early. I'd rather see him back in the UFC than Bellator, but there's a lot of HWs in Bellator who would make for great fights with Carwin. Bellator is basically the HW B-League for the UFC these days and is the place to go if you are a HW who's not quite sure if he wants to fight UFC caliber competition, but I hope he does sign with them. www.bjpenn.com/mma-news/bellator/breaking-shane-carwin-officially-negotiations-bellator/

Bellator making moves!!
These guys are getting smart and not wanting to fight for an organization that only cares about a small handful of fighters.

I'd rather see him in Bellator, but to say he doesn't have star power in the UFC HW division is untrue. Look at the division... it's pretty much the same guys from Carwin's time.

I remember a few years ago Pride and Affliction had the best Heavyweights, and UFC HW division was in shambles with no names. Why is this happening again? The UFC top 10 list is a joke right now. The Bellator HW tournament has a sick list of 8 exciting name recognition fighters. How did they let this happen?

Come on dude, what HWs does Bellator have that are better than the top ten in the UFC HW division? They have Fedor, but he just lost to Mittrione who wasn't good enough for the UFC, just like other HWs in the division who eventually started losing in the UFC like Mir and Nelson. HW has always been a weak division in MMA in general, but the UFC has the best HWs in the world these days, better than Bellator's for sure. The UFC HW division is not "in shambles" it's just generally interesting, but I'll take the top 8 UFC HWs over the top Bellator HWs right now in a tournament.

I’d take Stipe over everyone in both orgs, but aside from him it’s a wash.
Verdum just went to decision with a dude wearing a diaper.
So GTFO with that UFC HW are so much better bullshit.

I actually probably agree with this, as far as headliners. The UFC has the better prospects and future at HW though.

What Bellator HWs do you take over Francis Ngannou and Alistair Overeem who are fighting next week? Werdum would also beat all the HWs in that tournament as well, and no, that wasn't him who beat the guy who was wearing the diaper genius, that was Arlvoski who beat that guy. Werdum already beat Nelson and Fedor, and would also probably beat washed up Mir and Mittrione and DEFINITELY beat Light HWs, Bader, King Mo, Rampage and Chael. I'd take Brock and Hunt over all of them too. I mean shit, their HW division is so weak they don't even have 8 HWs to fill it up and the other 4 guys are 3 Light HWs and a MW. The UFC also has Bellator's former HW champ in Volkov. I also bet the dude with the diaper beats all Bellator's HW division as well, but at least if you are going to make fun of someone get their opponent right LOL.

Oh my fault. It was some nobody that I couldn’t even name that he beat. At least AA beat a guy that’s recognizable. Still a joke, so your long post is still null and void.

Except it's not, because the entire UFC top 10 is better than everyone in the Bellator tournament. Like I said, Werdum has beaten Fedor and Nelson. You didn't even answer me as to whether or not you agreed that Ngannou and Overeem are better than everyone in the tournament, which they ARE. Brock would also probably beat all of them, as well as Hunt most likely. You know that the UFC has better HWs than Bellator, you just don't want to admit it.

Fedor has beaten Arlovski and Hunt though, so I'm not sure what that proves. UFC has better talent, Bellator has better star power. I think we can all agree there.

He has, but there's no question that the UFC HW division has FAR better fighters, especially thinking about guys like Stipe, Overeem and Ngannou, and the thing is, everyone good in the tournament minus Fedor made their names in the UFC. Bellator's HW division and also their LHW division to some extent with Chael, Rampage and Bader, are what they are because these guys came up in the UFC, but this is something that flies over Loco's head when he says that Bellator is so much better than the UFC. Not that I care, I just get bored and like debating with people lol. The stars that Bellator has are mostly former UFC guys, and they do exciting things like 8 man tournaments that the UFC doesn't do to shake things up, but as much fun as they are, they are essentially a lower level B-org in terms of their fighter's skills who makes up for it with novelties like tournaments, occasional freak shows with wrestlers, TNA style smack talk, etc. If you have fought in the UFC but they no longer want you, then you go to Bellator, but very few fighters choose to fight in Bellator if the UFC is an option. That's all I'm saying.

UFC fucked up by letting Conor run the show. Now no one wants to fight. They just want a big paycheck.

In all fairness I think some are using the “money fight” thing to avoid the more dangerous opponents. Like Bisping for example.

Like Cryrone trying to fight Nate Diaz, a 155 pounder. GSP is a better matchup for Cryrone than Diaz, but GSP knows Cryrone can KO him easily. That's where the UFC fucked up. They should have kept going with the fights that make sense in each division. Now, no one wants to fight unless it's a huge payday. That's why you will continue to see fighters piling up in Bellator, where ONE fighter doesn't rule the company.

The UFC has definitely took a shit in the matchmaking department ever since their change of management. That being said, bellator is just shit to begin with..

That's all I'm saying. Bellator is kind of like the legends league now. It's a fun alternative, no need for labels or who is better than who. I'm an NFL fan, and I'd love to see Barry Sanders strap it up still vs. LT or something. Yeah they're old as fuck, but i'd be fun to watch.

If Shane goes to Bellator, they need to set up a fight with him and mitrione.
I thought Shane retired too early. That dude hit like a truck. Take Bader out of the heavyweight tournament and replace him with Shane. Bader's already the light heavyweight champ, why have him fight at heavyweight unless you have a really thin heavyweight division?
I hope this is true and Carwin does sign. I'd like to see him fight one more time at least.

I'd really much prefer to see Shane back in the UFC and always felt he retired too early and there were good fights for him.
After last night I would LOVE to see him fight Nganou as he's the only person I've possibly ever seen who MIGHT hit almost as hard as him.

Yeah I'd like to see it.
I guess he'll probably win the tournament but I could possibly see Nelson or Mir winning as well.
I mean Nelson did beat Mittrione before.
I'm hoping Fedor takes it though.
