Nah. You can get the same stuff up here. I just had a fantastic burrito last week. You can go out to dinner every night of the week and not appropriate the same culture twice. The secret is that if you're part of the 3% who aren't white- you open a restaurant. Or you do like one of the five black girls did and start a blog called blackgirlinmaine. But you're right. The general paleness of the complexion up here forces one to find sources of entertainment that don't entail reveling in the diversity of the people around you. I dont' know if I'd call it the same stuff but I feel you (You didn't see a certain poster on here last weekend searching around for certain type of taco...tacogeddon lol). Honestly, it seems like you live in a little chunk of paradise, with all the woods and not having some big built up downtown and all. Wasn't trying to mean any of my post as a slight, in case it came off like that. If I were you I would be super protective over my lil chunk as well. What you have out there is what I feel I am looking for. Just a place that is slower than here and quiet. I guess my point was that I'm just used to this way of living. Don't really know any other way when it comes to this topic. Didn't take it as mean. Maine's great but it has different issues. For example- one possible side effect of so much "sameness" is an opioid epidemic that is off the charts. Surprisingly one of the worst in the whole country. So bad that even regular municipal traffic cops all have to now carry two syringes of Narcan in their cruisers. And if you are saved by the stuff more than once in your life, we send you the bill. It's ridiculous.

Stats are stats Garth. Chicago and New Orleans aren't even close to 97% white (or any other color) throughout their entire territory. But the neighborhoods where all the murders occur are quite homogeneous True. But they live in the same city as many affluent white people. This is never a good mix. I've read about wealthy all black neighborhoods in Atlanta that have very low crime rates. So I think it helps more if the socio economic status is homogenous and slightly above average. But I get your point.

Also, I guess I agree that rampant crime, disease, murder, etc are a small price to pay for a good taco I know you have a hard time with the non whites and all...but don't knock that taco til you try it.
